Objective: To optimize the formula and preparation process of docetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles. Methods:Docetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles were prepared by a thin-film hydration method and optimized by central composite design and response surface methodology. The influencing factors including the quantity of docetaxel, volume of organic phase, volume of hydra-tion and temperature of hydration were investigated with the entrapment efficiency as the index. The morphology of micelles was ob-served under a transmission electron microscope. The particle diameter and zeta potential were determined. The in vitro release property was measured by a dialysis method. Results:The relationship between the influencing factors and the evaluation parameter was fitted by multi-linear equation, quadratic polynomial equation and cubic polynomial equation, respectively. The results showed that the cubic polynomial equation was superior to the others according to the correlation coefficient. Docetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles were spherical with the mean diameter, zeta potential, polydispersity index, encapsulation efficiency and drug loading of 108. 3 nm,-3. 99 mV, 0. 265, (97. 91 ± 0. 28)% and (3. 72 ± 0. 12)%, respectively. The cumulative release in vitro reached 95. 03% in 120 h, and docetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles had notable sustained-release property. Conclusion: The technical process for do-cetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles is simple and usable, and docetaxel-loaded pluronic P123 micelles show high encapsulation effi-ciency and notable sustained-release property.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(6):1273-1278
The purpose of this study was to identify specific microRNAs (miRNAs) during differentiation and maturation of interneurons and to predict their possible functions by analyzing the expression of miRNAs during in vitro differentiation of the rat interneuron precursor cell line GE6. In the experiment, the interneuron precursor cell line GE6 was cultured under three different conditions, i. e. the first was that had not added growth factors and the normal differentiation cultured for 4 days (Ge6_4d); the second was that cultured with bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP2) for 4 days (Ge6_bmp2); and the third was that cultured with sonic hedgehog (SHH) for 4 days (Ge6_ shh). In addition, another group of undifferentiated GE6 (Ge6_u) was applied as a control. We found in this study that the expression levels of a large number of miRNAs changed significantly during GE6 differentiation. The expression levels of miR-710, miR-290-5p and miR-3473 increased in the GE6 cells with secreted factor BMP2. These miRNAs may play important regulatory roles during interneuron differentiation.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of neonatalCandida arthritis. Methods The clinical data from one case of neonatalCandida arthritis with swelling and pain in multiple joints as the ifrst symp-toms were reviewed. Results Boy born at 31 weeks' gestational age had the birth weight of 2100 g. The patients was admitted to neonatal intensive care unit after birth and treated with antibiotics for a long time due to infection. At 24 days after birth, blood culture showed the growth ofCandida albicans. At 29 days after birth, the bilateral knee joints showed swelling. TheCandida arthritis was diagnosed through X ray and joint-cavity lfuid culture. The patient was treated with Fluconazole for 13 weeks. When discharged, the joints swelling had been disappeared, while the muscle tension of the double upper limbs was signiifcantly weak. The shoulders had visible slight activities independently. The ifngers, wrists and elbows had less independent activities. The muscle tension of the double lower limbs was slight and the independent activity was more than upper limbs, but the extend was smaller than normal. The palmar grasp relfex was weak. The 30 months follow-up showed that each joint had even length, no abnormality and normal activities. The language and intelligence were normal. Conclusions NeonatalCandida arthritis is mostly combined with or secondary to systemic disseminated candidiasis, and the priority therapy is antifungal drugs. Surgical operation can be considered if necessary, which can improve the prognosis.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;31(9):875-880
Background Aspheric intraocular lens (IOL) is designed to reduce the spherical aberration of the eye after cataract surgery and to obtain better visual quality. However, the selection of a personalized aspheric IOL is a problem to be solved. Objective This study was to compare the wavefront aberration and quality of vision of patients between the implantation of negative spherical aberration IOL and non-aberration IOL,and to investigate the relationship between corneal Q values and postoperative spherical aberration. Methods One hundred and four eyes of 90 patients with age-related cataract were randomized into two groups.Fifty-two eyes of 46 patients who received a Tecnis Z9001 IOL implantation were assigned as the negative spherical aberration IOL group and 52 eyes of 44 patients who received Akreos AO IOL without aberration were assigned as the non-aberration IOL group. The preoperative corneal Q values were measured and the mean Q value(Q)was computed. Then the patients in the two groups were further divided into 2 subgroups, respectively, based on their Q values were over or below (Q).The corneal Q values, root mean square(RMS) of ocular spherical aberration, coma and total higher-order aberrations(HOAs) for 5 mm diameter pupil, scotopic contrast sensitivity with or without glare at 6 mm pupil diameter were measured 3 months after surgery. Results The pre-and post-operative corneal Q values were insignificantly changed (t =1.447,P =0.151).The spherical aberration in the negative spherical aberration IOL group was(0.059-±0.047)μm,and that in the non-aberration IOL group was(0.110±0.066)μm,with a statistically significant difference between them (t =-4.567,P=0.000).Scotopic contrast sensitivities at intermediate and high frequencies were significantly better in the negative spherical aberration IOL group than in the non-aberration IOL group (t =2.495,t =2.359,P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in coma and HOAs between the two groups after operation (P > 0.05).Weak positive correlations were seen between the pre-and post-operative corneal Q values and spherical aberration in the two groups(r=0.277,0.292,0.285,0.325,all at P<0.05).However,no significant differences were found in spherical aberration, contrast sensitivity and scotopic contrast sensitivity between the different subgroups (P > 0.05).Conclusions Negative spherical aberration IOL has lower spherical aberration and better scotopic contrast sensitivity than non-aberration IOL.The results suggest that it may be not enough to choose the corneal Q value only as the single reference criterion for selection of aspheric IOL.
