1.Regulating effect of 17?-estradiol on osteoprotegerin and osteoclast differentiation factor expressions in osteoblasts from newborn rats
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(03):-
Osteoblasts (OB) isolated from newborn SD rats were cultured in vitro. After treatment with different concentrations of 17?-estradiol (10~(-11)-10~(-6)mol/L),the mRNA expressions of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and osteoclast differentiation factor (ODF) in OB were measured by RT-PCR.17?-estradiol increased the expression of OPG in OB with the maximal effect at the concentration of 10~(-8) mol/L.No significant difference was observed in the expression of ODF in OB with different concentrations of 17?-estradiol.The therapeutic effect of estrogen on osteoporosis appears to be related to the enhanced OPG expression in OB at physiological concentration of estrogen.
2.The effect of amygdaloid nuci ei on immunogical function induced by stress
Chinese Journal of Immunology 1986;0(04):-
Rat with amputation operation stress possessed a decline of NK activity and splenocyte pro-liferation to mitogen ConA.Amygdaloid nuclei lesion could antagonize the decrease of those ofcell-mediated immunity.Further results showed that serum corticosterone and methionine-enkephahn was high in stress' rats.Amugdaloid Nuclei lesion could antagonize the increase ofserum corticosterone level, but seem no dffeet on serum methionine-enkephalin level, thereforesuggesting that it is related to ratio of corticosterone to enkephalin changed by decrease of corti-costerone that amygdaloid neuclei lesion antagonized the decline of immunogical function inducedby stress.

Objective To investigate the expression of activating receptors (NKG2D and NKp46), inhibitory receptors (NKG2A and KIR) as well as costimulatory molecules (OX40, 4-1BB and ICOS) on peripheral blood natural killer (NK) cells from patients with recurrent genital herpes (RGH). Methods Four-color immunofluorescence staining with flow cytometry was used to detect the expression of NKG2D, NKG2A, KIR and NKp46 in 44 patients with RGH and 40 normal human controls, and to detect the expression of OX40, 4-1BB and ICOS in 29 patients with RGH and 29 normal human controls. Results The proportions of NKG2D-positive and NKp46-positive NK cells significantly decreased in patients with RGH than those in the normal human controls [(93.3 ± 5.4)% vs (96.9 ± 2.5)%, (88.9 ± 8.7)% vs(93.4 ± 4.1)%, respectively, both P < 0.01]. Between the patients and controls, no significant difference was observed in the expression of NK cell inhibitory receptors, NKG2A [(41.8 ± 14.4)% vs (46.0 ± 14.7)%, P > 0.05] or KIR [(68.3 ± 19.1)% vs (69.1 ± 17.6)%, P > 0.05]. A lower expression of costimulatory molecule OX40 was noted in NK cells from patients with RGH compared with those in normal controls [(1.0 ± 1.1)% vs (1.8 ± 1.7)%, P < 0.05]. Conclusions Herpes simplex virus infection could down-regulate the expression of NK cell activating receptors and costimulatory molecules, subsequently suppress the activation of NK cells, and lead to the escape of virus-infected cells from the killing of NK cells.

Objective To clarify the effect of myofunctional treatment on primary and mixed dentition malocclusion. Methods Twenty-seven children were selected,3 were in primary dentition among which 2 showed deep overbite.24 were in mixed dentition and presented crowding in anterior area among which 4 children combined with anterior crossbite,2 showed deep overbite and deep overjet. All the patients were treated with myofunctional trainer such as INFANT,T4K or I2N appliances according to their age and malocclusion type. The patients were instructed to wear the trainers for at least one hour a day keeping their lips together or overnight while sleeping.Muscle exercises were done when wearing the trainer during daytime. Results After 6-10 months,24 patients who were in good compliance had their teeth aligned, deep overjet and deep overbite corrected, and facial profile improved. Conclusions Myofunctional treatment is effective on primary and mixed dentition malocclusion. It is important to have patients' good compliance.

AIM:To study the effect of Danhong Zhiganching capsules on the experimental fatty liver in rats.METHODS: Male SD rats were treated by high fat diet for 6-week after being treated by a low dose of CCl_4 to induce fatty liver model. Then, drugs were given by oral to the rats, the contents of triglyeride, total cholesterol in serum and liver tissue, the contents of superoxide dismutase and malondialdehyde in serum and the contents of free fatty acids in liver tissue acted as indexes to determine the effect of Danhong Zhiganching capsules.RESULTS: The contents of triglyeride and total cholesterol in serum and liver tissue of rats were significantly reduced by Danhong Zhiganching capsules, and so it is with the contents of free fatty acids in liver tissue(P
