1.Prevention of radiation caries for the patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma receiving radiotherapy
Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(06):-
Objective:To study the prevention methods of radiation caries for the patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma receiving radiotherapy. Methods:Seventy-five patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma received dental check and treatment before radiotherapy. They also received the instructions on preventive oral hygiene. After radiotherapy, the patients were followed up.Results:Fifty patients were followed up for 1-3 years. Radiation caries was observed in 4 cases with poor oral hygiene habit. Conclusion:A comprehensive regime of dental care can prevent radiation caries effectively.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of intraoperative iodine-125 seed implanttation in treating pancreatic carcinoma. Methods Seventy-five patients (fourty-one men, thirty-four women;median age 54 years) with pancreatic adenocarcinoma were enrolled into the study. Thirty-one patients (group A) were accepted tumor resection, eighteen patients(group B) were implanted radioactive iodine-125 seeds into the tumors by a combination of bypass surgery, twenty-six patients(group C) were treated by bypass surgery. Results Sixty-seven patients were followed up. The median survival time was 19, 12 and 7 months in group A,B,C respectively, among which the difference was significant (P < 0.05). The response rate(CR+PR) was 50 % and the effective rate of pain relieving was 80% in the group B. The 97.4 % of accordance rate of seed number was demonstrated by CT film, but the accordance rate of seed space distribution was only 56 %.Conclusion At present, the active resection of the pancreatic carcinoma, including the superior mesenteric vein and the retropancreatic fusion fascia, is essential for a curative resection. The combination of Intraoperative iodine-125 brachytherapy and bypass surgery is safe and effective for pancreatic carcinoma. The seed space distribution completed by seed computer therapeutic plan needs further study.

We collected 22 cultivated population of Lonicera japonica from 17 areas. The characteristics of non-glandular hairs were observed and measured by the scanning electron microscopy. The principal components analysis and correlation analysis were conduct based on length and density of L. japonica. The results showed a significant negative correlation between length and density of non-glandular hairs, and the characteristics of non-glandular was not corrrelated significantly with latitude. The correlation results indicated that the density was a key to separate "Damaohua" and "Jizhuahua". The contribution of climate and soil was important to the cultivated population. This reminded that the characteristics of non-glandular hairs were affected by environmental and genetic interaction.

OBJECTIVE To analyze the values of drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa pneumonia in the older patients using thymosin ?1 combined with Sulperazone.METHODS The thirty five older patients with drug-resistant P.aeruginosa pneumonia were divided into two groups, one group was treated with thymosin ?1 combined with Sulperazone, the other group was treated with Sulperazone alone. We observed the changes in clinical symptom of the patients, results in culture of sputum, routine blood test,C-reactive protein(C-RP),albumin,pre-albumin,and T cell subset before and after drug use.RESULTS The clinical symptoms of the patients were improved, days of disappeared drug resistance of P.aeruginosa, reconverted normally days of routine blood test, decreased concentration of CRP,albumin, and pre-albumin reconverted to normalize, increased percent of CD4+,decreased percent of CD8+,CD4+ /CD8+ were more prominently reconverted to normalize in thymosin ?1 combined with Sulperazone treated group than in Sulperazone alone group.CONCLUSIONS Thymosin ?1 can improve immunological function, inflammation condition and protein metabolism. Its application with Sulperazone has a coordinated effect on drug-resistant P.aeruginosa pneumonia in the older patients.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the risk factors of broad-spectrum antibiotic usage more than for two weeks and primary pulmonary disease as a risk factor of nosocomial infections. METHODS A retrieval report which used retrospective case control study to analyze the two risk factors of fungi nosocomial infection was reviewed. Fixed effect model or stochastic effect model were used for statistical analysis. RESULTS Three retrospective case control studyies were investigated. The primary pulmonary disease exposure rate was significantly higher than control group. Broad-spectrum antibiotic usage exposure rate had not significant difference. CONCLUSIONS Broad-spectrum antibiotic more than two weeks isn′t a risk factor but primary pulmonary disease is the risk factor for fungi nosocomial infection.

Objective To study the relationship between graft injury and expression of redox factor-1 in early period after liver transplantation in rats. Methods One hundred and fifty adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: liver transplant group, sham surgery group and control group. Animals were sacrificed in each group at different time points: 3,6,9, 12,24 hour after liver transplantation. The changes and significance of the expression of Ref-1 were explored by immunohistochemistry, serology and histopathology. Results Compared with sham surgery group and control group, the expression of Ref-1 protein in transplant group was higher than that in other two groups in early period after liver transplantation ( P < 0. 05 ). In pathology there were lots of inflammation cells infiltration around the portal veins, and cell damage of hepatic tissue, while that in sham surgery and control group was comparatively slight. Serum ALT and AST values reached the peak at 6 ~ 12 h, and decreaced significantly after 12 h ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusions Graft injury after liver transplantation during early period reaches peak at 6 hour and then decreased. Hepatic ischemic reperfusion injury promotes Ref-1 expression, which in turn compensates for programme cell death induced by the injury.

Sixty-three morphological traits from 743 specimens of the 41 taxa within the cultivated Lonicera japonica were observed and measured, such as the height of plants, the length of leaf, the width of leaf, the length of anther, the alabastrum's number of one branch, the color of alabastrum and so on. A numerical taxonomy is presented by using the cluster analysis, principal components analysis (PCA) and factor analysis. Sixteen of 63 characters were screened by means of PCA and used for cluster analysis of 41 taxa with the method of Ward linkage and average euclidean distance. The cluster analysis showed that the 41 taxa could be divided into 5 groups when the Euclidean distance coefficient was 11.84. The factor analysis indicated that the shape of leaf, color of alabastrum, the pilosity and color of twiggery were of significance for the cultivated L. japonica classification. The results of this study will be a base for the core collection and breeding of L. japonica.
