Objective To analyse the personality characteristics of medical undergraduate and graduate newcomers. Methods Cattell 16 Personality Factor Questionnaires (16PF) were employed to assess the personality of 675 undergraduate newcomers (306 males and 369 females) and 155 graduate newcomers (76 males and 79 females),and the results were compared with the established findings of the country. Objective To explore the relationship between the body mass index and health-related quality of life(HRQoL) of young students aged 18～25 years old. Methods 4696 students aged 18～25 years old from nine provinces and municipalities (Jiangsu, Anhui, Gansu, Qinghai, Fujian, Boijing, Jilin, Jiangxi and He'nan) were investigated. The HRQoL of students with different body mass index were compared with rank sum test and lo-gistic regression analysis. Results Obesity and underweight students scored lower in both physical component and mental component scores of SF-36. Compared to students with normal weight, odds ratios (ORs) of impaired HRQoL among obesity students significantly increased in both physical domain (OR=1.86) and mental domain (OR=1.90), while OR of impaired HRQoL among underweight students significantly increased only in physical domain(OR=1.21). Analysis for boys and girls scparately,OR of impaired HRQoL increased in physical domain among underweight boys(OR=1.37), and increased in mental domain among overweight girls(OR=3.85). Con-clnsion Different body mass index have different impact on young students' HRQoL. Both obesity and trader-weight could reduce HRQoL. But obesity have more impact on girls' mental domain than boys, and underweight have more impact on boys' physical domain than girls.

Aim To investigate the changes of Na~+,K~+-ATPase activity and ? isoforms in rat neurons suffered from global ischemia.Methods The BCAL rat was induced by bilateral carotid artery ligation.The contents of H_2O,Na~+ and K~+ in brain tissue were detected.The method of spectrophotometry was applied to measure the activities of Na~+,K~+-ATPase.With immunohistochemical assay,the expression of the Na~+,K~+-ATPase ?_1,?_2,or ?_3 isoform was detected in neurons of rat hippocampus and cortex following ischemia.Results In the BCAL rats,the contents of H_2O and Na~+ were increased while the content of K~+ and the activity of Na~+,K~+-ATPase were decreased.The ?_1,?_2 or ?_3 isoform of Na~+,K~+-ATPase distributed in a tissue-specific fashion in neurons of hippocampus and cortex,in which ?_1 and ?_3 were abundant and ?_3 was more than ?_1,but ?_2 was much less.In BCAL rat,?_1 and ?_3 isoforms were significantly decreased in hippocampus and cortex neurons.Conclusion These results suggest that the changes of Na~+,K~+-ATPase ?_1 and ?_3 isoforms may be involved in the global cerebral ischemia

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the clinical results of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction combined with the lateral retinacular release for the treatment of recurrent patellar dislocation.

METHODSFrom March 2011 to June 2013, 15 patients with recurrent patellar dislocation underwent arthroscopic MPFL reconstruction combined with the lateral retinacular release. The graft was autogenous semitendinosus and semimembranosus tendon. There were 5 males and 10 females with an average age of 19.4 years old (ranged,14 to 32 years old). The patients suffered recurrent patellar dislocation at least twice preoperatively. Preoperative conventional X-ray, CT, and MR examination were used to analyze the causes of the patellofemoral joint and MPFL injury. Preoperative Lysholm score was 69.85 ± 11.52. During operation, the arthroscopic examination was performed to evaluate the patellofemoral alignment and patellar tracking.

RESULTSAll the patients were followed up for an average of 27.6 months (ranged,12 to 36 months) with no recurrent dislocation and sub-dislocation. All the patients showed negative apprehension test at straight and 30 ° flexions of knee. The range of motion of knee returned to normal level at 12 months after operation. There were no patients with subjective discomfort of knee. Postoperative Lysholm score was improved to 92.60 ± 5.75.

CONCLUSIONThe technique of arthroscopic MPFL reconstruction combined with the lateral retinacular release is an effective surgical procedure for the treatment of recurrent patellar dislocation, which can relieve the symptom of knee and improve the patella stability and knee function.

Objective To investigate the application value of CEUS combined with biopsy in qualitative diagnosis of pe ripheral pulmonary lesions.Methods A total of 158 patients with peripheral pulmonary lesions underwent percutaneous puncture biopsy.Among them,97 cases underwent CEUS before biopsy (experiment group),and 61 cases underwent conventional ultrasound (control group).Puncture times,positive rate of samples pathological diagnosis and occurrence rate of complications were compared between the two groups.The time intensity curve (TIC) was used to obtain the rise time (RT),time to peak (TTP),wash-in slope (WIS) and peak intensity (PI).The parameters of TIC between the two groups were compared.The enhanced morphology of lesions was also observed and recorded.Results The positive rate of samples pathological diagnosis was 94.85 ％ (92/97) in experiment group and 83.61％ (51/61) in control group.The difference of the positive rate was significant between the two groups (P=0.02).In experiment and control group,the average puncture times were 2.11±0.48 and 2.20±0.44;While the occurrence rate of complications were 2.06％ (2/97) and 4.91％ (3/61).No significant difference was found of the average puncture times and the occurrence rate of complications between the two groups (both P＞0.05).While the statistical differences of RT,PI and WIS were found between benign and malignant lesions (all P＜0.05) in experiment group.And no statistical difference of TTP was found (P =0.08).Totally 77.50％ (31/40) of the benign lesions showed inhomogeneous enhancement,while the proportion was 88.46％ (46/52) in malignant lesions.There was no statistical difference of enhanced morphology between benign and malignant lesions (P=0.16).Conclusion CEUS is helpful in distinguishing benign and malignant peripheral pulmonary lesions.And it has great value in guiding percutaneous biopsy in peripheral pulmonary lesions.

Objective To know the vaccination status of BCG in Gaoxin district of Chongqing and explore the associated impact factors on seroconversion rate .Methods PPD was used to test the seroconversion status after PDG vaccination in infants under 3 months .Results There was no significant differences of seroconversion rate between different sex ,birth weight and vaccination age (P>0 .05) .But the rate was significantly higher in infants with normal birth weight than that in fetal macrosomia which was signif-icantly higher than that in low-birth weight .The rate was significantly decreased in infants of 1-2 months ,2-3 months and 0-1 months in order .The rate of infant with vaccination scar was significantly higher than that without scar (χ2 =80 .057 ,P<0 .01) . Conclusion There was no significant differences of seroconversion rate between different sex ,birth weight and vaccination age ,and the scar can indirectly show the seroconversion condition of vaccination .
