1.Expression of aquaporin 8 in human fetal membrane and placenta of idiopathic polyhydramnios
Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2009;44(1):19-22
Objective To determine the expression of Aquaporin 8 (AQP8) in the fetal membrane and placenta of idiopathic polyhydramnios. Methods The amnion, chorion and placenta were collected from 12 term pregnancies with idiopathic polyhydramnios(polyhydramnios group) and 12 term pregnancies who were normal (control group). The expression of AQP8 mRNA was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The expression of AQP8 protein was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression of AQP8 mRNA in amnion, chorion and placenta of polyhydramnios group was (0.78±0.13), (0.58±0.10), and (0.86±0.15) respectively, and that of control group was (0.39±0.07 ), (0.45±0.09),and (0.34±0.09) respectively. The expression of AQP8 protein in amnion, chorion and placenta of polyhydramnios group was (0.195±0.024), (0. 170±0.028), and (0. 193±0.024) respectively, and that of control group was (0. 151±0.018), (0.156±0.024), and (0. 152±0.023) respectively. In all 3 types of tissues the expression of AQP8 mRNA of polyhydramnios group was higher than that of control group (P<0.05). In anmion and placenta the expression of AQP8 protein of polyhydramnios group was also increased compared to that of control group (P<0.05), but in chorion the difference in AQP8 protein expression between the two groups was not significant(P>0.05). Conclusion The expression of AQP8 mRNA and protein is significantly increased in the anmion and placenta of polyhydramnios, suggesting that AQP8 may play an important role in the regulation of amniotic fluid volume.
2.Stereological study of the effects of Doxycycline on hyperoxic lung injury In neonatal rats
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2009;16(3):256-259
Objective To explore the influence and potential protective effects of non-specific panMetrix Metalloproteinases(MMPs) inhibitor Doxycycline on hyperoxic lung injury and lung development in neonatal rats. Methods Neonatal SD rats were divided into 4 groups randomly within 12 hours after birth:air with normal saline(AN),air with doxycycline(AD),hyperoxia with normal saline(ON),and hyperoxia with doxycycline group(OD).Hyperoxia groups(ON and OD) were exposed to ≥90% O2.Doxycycline 20 mg/kg or equal volume of 0.9% saline(Doxycycline concentration 2 mg/ml) was administered by gastric gavage, twice daily from day 1 to experimental day,but it didn't exceed 14 days.Stereological study was carried out at day 1,3,7,14 and 21 after birth. Results Enlarged mean alveolar area was noted both in hyperoxia and Doxycycline groups.OD group had larger star volume than ON group on day 14.Except ON group, all other groups had increased alveolar septum and the condition was worsened by hyperoxia with Doxycycline. The percentage of collagen in lung parenchymal tissue in ON group increased persistently. This increasing trend was stopped in OD group on day 14,and collagen percentage had no significantly difference between OD and AN groups on day 14 and 21.Conclusion Both hyperoxia and Doxycycline influence neonatal lung development, percentage of coUgen in lung parenchymai can be reduced by Doxycycline in hyperoxic lung injury.
3.Heat shock protein and atherosclerosis
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(01):-
Studying of atherosclerosis is more than a hundred year. There are many theories about this disease, but now most of us seems to agree with the stress-reponse theory.Heat shock proteins are the products produced at the first stage of atherosclerosis. And someone think that it may have something to do with atherosclerosis. This paper discussed the heat shock proteins and atherosclerosis respectively, and emphasized the relationship between them.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2011;27(12):1096-1101
Objective To evaluate the curative effect of ilio-inguinal and Kocher-Langenbeck (K-L) approach internal fixation and reduction in the treatment of acetabular fractures in a floppy lateral position. Methods A retrospective study was done on 31 patients treated from February 2005 to March 2009,including 15 patients with complex acetabular fractures treated with ilio-inguinal and K-L approach internal fixation and reduction in a floppy lateral position ( Group A) and 16 patients with complex acetabular fractures treated with anterior ilio-inguinal approach and posterior K-L approach internal fixation and successive reduction in a floppy lateral position Group B).Operation time,intra-operative blood loss, number of X-ray fluoroscopy times, degree of postoperative reduction, results of Merled' Aubigne and Postel scores as well as the rate of postoperative complications were recorded. Results All the patients were followed up for 15-27 months. In Groups A and B,the operation time was for ( 176 ± 17 ) minutes and ( 196 ± 23 ) minutes ( P < 0.05 ),the intra-operative blood loss for ( 880 ± 16) ml and (874 ± 19) ml (P>0.05),the number of X-ray fluoroscopy times for 6 ±2 and 14 ±6 respectively ( P < 0.05 ).According to Mata analysis standard, the postoperative fracture reduction was anatomical in 11 patients (73%),good in three and poor in one in Group A; while the postoperative fracture reduction was anatomic in nine patients 56% ),good in five and poor in two in Group B.The rate of anatomical reduction between the two groups had statistical difference (t =2.731,P < 0.05 ).The modified Merled' Aubigne and Postel score system showed excellence rate of joint function of 93% ( 14/15 ) in Group A and 75% (12/16) in Group B,with statistical difference ( x2 =15.292,P < 0.05).There was no statistical difference in the aspect of postoperative complications between the two groups, such as heterotopic ossification, traumatic arthritis, avascular necrosis of the femoral head, nerve injury and so on.Conclusions In a floppy lateral position, combined ilio-inguinal and K-L approach internal fixation and reduction takes advantages of sufficient exposure, good reduction, strong fixation, short operation time and few complications in the treatment of certain complex acetabular fractures, while its long-term effects are worthy of further clinical researches.
5.IL-13Rα2 as a functional receptor mediates signal transduction
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2014;(8):1513-1518
[ABSTRACT]IL-13isapleiotropiccytokinemainlysecretedbyactivatedTh2cells.Ithas2receptors,IL-13Rα1 and IL-13Rα2.The latter had been thought to serve exclusively as a decoy receptor for a long period of time due to its short cytoplasmic tail and lack of signal transduction structure .Since Fichtner-Feigl reported in Nature Medicine that IL-13 is in-volved in induction of TGF-βproduction and tissue fibrosis through IL-13Rα2-mediated signaling pathway , it was found that IL-13Rα2 has more sophisticated functions than just a simple decoy receptor as more and more researches have explored its signaling functions .This review combines the most advanced research results with previous investigation and discusses the gene structure, expression, production, distribution, subtype conversion and possible signal pathways mediated by this re-ceptor.More importantly, the connection with human diseases and the applications in disease diagnosis and molecule targe -ted therapy for cancer are also discussed .
