Objective To study the application CT scans in Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum. Metlhods 648 children with pectus excavatum underwent Nuss procedure from July 2002 to September 2008 The preoperative CT scan was carried out for evaluation of the deformity degree and morphology classification of chest wall malformation, the deformity in relation with adjacent tissue and associated different disorder. Results Nuss procedure was successfully performed in all 648 patients. The preoperative CT scan showed medium deformity of the pectus excavatum in 73 cases ( 11.27% ) and severe deformity in 575 cases (88.73%). Morphologic classification of the pectus excavatum were symmetric type in 407cases (62.81% ) , eccentric type in 83( 12.81% ) ,and unbalanced type in 158( 24.38% ). 116 cases with pectus excavatum were associated with other different disorders, among them 55 cases ( 17.9% )were diagnosed by CT scan. 28 cases received stimultanously operation for their abnormalities. Conclusion CT scan is a useful tool for evaluation the deformity degree and morphology classification, direct the operation, reduce the complications and find other different disorders. It should be a routine examination before Nuss procedure.

Objective To summarize perioperative care and effect of surgical treatment of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) in newborns and babies within 6 months. Methods From September 2001 to May 2013,ninetytwo consecutive patients with TAPVC received surgical correction under cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) with moderate or deep hypothermia. The anatomic subtype included supracardiac type 48,intracardiac type 36,infracardiac type 6 and mixed type 2.There were 36 newboms.Pathological diagnosis was made by echocardiogram, computerized tomography and operative findings during operation. The option of procedure was determined by findings.Respirator assisted breathing after operation and cardiac function was maintained by a variety of positive inotropic drugs,to prevent the happening of the pulmonary hypertension crisis. Results Severely low cardiac output syndrome occurred in 8 patients and they died within 24 hours after operation. The remaining cases postoperative recover smoothly and receive postoperative follow-up about 1 month to 12 years,3 cases of postoperative pulmonary vein stenosis (PPVS) occurred. Conclusion Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection should be surgical treatment as soon as possible with satisfied effect. The key of perioperative care is maintenance of left heart function, negative balance of liquid, prevention and treatment of pulmonary hypertension.

In all the 2 groups, the proliferation activity of CD4+ CD25- T cells alone from HBV transgenic mice or normal mice was significantly higher than that mixed culturing (P

Objective To develop an improved product of the existing battlefield diagnosis and treatment bed by making the product smaller, the structure firmer, the function more perfect and the use more convenient, thus to benefit the use under the battlefield situations, and to improve the logistics support ability. Methods '08F,304'steel materials were adopted as prop-up parts of the bed.The fold type structure design, infusion shelf and mosquito net pole functions could be exchanged with each other. The special oxygen bottle clip was equipped. Results It had such advantages as lighter weight(half of the former),enlarged strength, diverse functions, simple operation and easy taking. As far as safety and reliability and operation flexibility concerned,it was far improved compared with the former one.The treatment bed met the requirement of diagnosis, treatment and nursing for patients under battlefield conditions.National patent of the product was declared. Conclusion The portable battlefield diagnosis and treatment bed is used under the field situation,so some more complicated structures and functions of the normal beds are omitted.Meanwhile, reasonable function combination and material and structure design are key factors in development.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2008,29(2):10-11,14]

Iridoid glycosides were the main active ingredient of Rehmannia glutinosa, of which catalpol has the highest content. This work will provide theoretical basis for metabolic study and cultivation of iridoids on the basis of the dynamic accumulation of catalpol and total iridoids in the growth of R. glutinosa. The samples of rehmannia 85-5 were gathered in the same filed from July to October. The contents of catalpol and total iridoid glycosides were measured by HPLC and specteophotometric, respectively. The results showed that youngest leaves had the higher content of catalpol and total iridoid glyosides than that of the other two leaf ages in the same growth stage from July to September, while their content of catalpol and total iridoid glycosides were all decreased as the growth of leaves of R. glutinosa. The content of catalpol didn't differ significantly from July to September, whereas it has significantly increased in October in the three leaf stage. In the same stage, the wider the root diameter is, the higher content of the effective components are. In August and September, the total iridoid glycosides have the fastest accumulation. The content of catalpol was increased as the accumulation of total iridoid glycosides.

Objective To detect the ascites CD64 index of patients with decompensated cirrhosis ,and explore the value in the di-agnosis of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) .Methods Decompensated cirrhosis with ascites patients were divided into non-SBP group ,SBP suspected group and SBP diagnosed group .Two control groups were composed of patients with ascites culture pos-itive and non-SPB group .SBP suspected group were further grouped according to abdominal pain and the percentage of peripheral blood neutrophils .The CD64 index was detected by flow cytometry .Compared the difference of ascites CD64 index after treatment , and analyzed diagnosis performance of procalcitonin in human peripheral blood and ascites white blood cell count of SBP .Results The level of the ascites CD64 index was significantly higher in SBP diagnosed group (179 .39 ± 65 .56)and SBP suspected group (115 .49 ± 58 .42)than that of non-SBP group(26 .88 ± 26 .05)(P<0 .01) .The differences of the ascites CD64 index between SBP suspected associated with abdominal pain group and SBP suspected associated with painless group was not statistically significant (P>0 .05) .The level of the ascites CD64 index in SBP suspected with percentage of peripheral blood neutrophils elevated group was increased significantly than non-elevated group(P<0 .05) .CD64 index level in effective treatment group was significantly lower than the ineffective treatment group(P<0 .01) .The area of the ascites CD64 index under the curve was greater than procalcitonin in human peripheral blood and ascites WBC count ,and had a higher sensitivity and specificity .Conclusion The detection process of the ascites CD64 index is fast and with less influential factors ,which provides a new choice for the clinical diagnosis of SBP .

Objective To explore the mechanism of Eomecon chionantha alkaloids (ECA) against Oncomelania hupensis by means of observing the effect of ECA on the genital system of O.hupensis. Methods O.hupensis was dissected after immersed in ECA for 48 hours; the testes and ovary were took out and made for electron microscopy samples by the conventional method. The change of structure was observed by Hitach H-600 Transmission Electron Microscope. Results After immersed in ECA, oocyte of O.hupensis was obviously atrophied and spermatogonium pyknosis occured. Conclusion ECA could damage the genital system of O.hupensis seriously.

Objective To review the clinical experiences of modified Nuss procedure and technique for complicated pectus excavatum. Methods From September 2006 to October 2009,45 children (27 boys and18 girls), aged 3 - 16 years [mean (6.4 ± 3.5 )years] with complicated pectus excavatum underwent modified Nuss procedure. VATS was used in 6 cases. 3 patients associated with lung cyst were treated by open surgery and 1 case with ASD was treated by Hybrid procedure. Results The surgery was successfully performed in all patients. The mean operative time was 54 minutes and the average hospital stay was 7 days. Postoperative evaluation was"excellent"in 30 cases , "good"in 13, and"moderate"in 2. Conclusion Modified Nuss procedure is a safe and effective method for correction of complicated pectus excavatum.
