As a multifunctional cytokine,transforming growth factor-?(TGF-?) has many biological effects. It controls the extracellular matrix synthesis in trabecular meshwork cells and enhances the contractility of trabecular cells,which may increase the resistance of aqueous outflow. It can also promote the formation of the bleb scarring after filtration surgery. TGF-? is likely to play an important role in the pathogenesis and mechanism of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). The inhibitions of TGF-? may be used as an auxiliary agent for inhibiting the formation of the bleb scarring after filtration surgery.

Objective To study the contraction of artery in colonic cancer.Methods Arteries in the cancer part and the cancer ambient part of patients with colonic cancer,the concentration-contractile curves induced by the noradrenaline(NA),sarafotoxin 6c(S6c) and endothelin-1(ET-1) in cumulative application were recorded by myograph.Results The E_(max) and pD_(2)of normal colonic artery contraction induced by NA were(97?19)% and(5.94)?0.17.The E_(max)and pD_(2) of contraction in colonic cancer artery was lower than that in cancer ambient artery(P0.05)).Conclusion The ?-adrenoceptor and ET_(A) receptor are main receptors mediating contraction in colonic cancer artery.

AIM: To investigate the clinical features of acquired immune deficiency syndrome ( AIDS) patients associated ocular diseases in Urumqi and the relationship between ocular fundus manifestations and CD4+T cell count.
METHODS: The fundus of 93 AIDS patients were examined by indirect ophthalmoscopy. The clinical symptoms and CD4+T cell count of those patients with fundus changes were analyzed.
RESULTS: Thirteen patients were found having fundus changes which occurred in one eye of 4 patients and two eyes of 9 patients, respectively, and the total detection rate was 14. 0%. Seven patients had vision changes, and the main clinical features of retinal lesion were cotton wool spot and hemorrhage of retina. Four patients were diagnosed as retinitis with cytomegalovirus ( CMV ) infection and 9 patients were diagnosed as HIV related retinopathy diseases. Seven patients among 37 patients with CD4+T cell count ≤100cell/μL had fundus changes related AIDS, and the detection rate was 18. 9%; while 6 patients among 56 patients with CD4+T cell count >100cell/μL had fundus changes related AIDS, and the detection rate was 10. 7%. There was statistical difference between the two detection rates (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: No specificity was found of those patients with the clinical manifestation of HIV- related retinopathy, and those patients are easy to be missed diagnosis. A number of AIDS patients have fundus changes without any vision changes. Therefore, it is very useful for AIDS patients to be carried out the routine fundus examination for the early diagnosis and treatment.

To obtain the key genes for chlorogenic acid biosynthesis of Lonicera hypoglauca, four new genes ware obtained from the our dataset of L. hypoglauca. And we also predicted the structure and function of LHPAL4, LHHCT1 , LHHCT2 and LHHCT3 proteins. The phylogenetic tree showed that LHPAL4 was closely related with LHPAL1, LHHCT1 was closely related with LHHCT3, LHHCT2 clustered into a single group. By Real-time PCR to detect the gene expressed level in different organs of L. hypoglauca, we found that the transcripted level of LHPAL4, LHHCT1 and LHHCT3 was the highest in defeat flowers, and the transcripted level of LHHCT2 was the highest in leaves. These result provided a basis to further analysis the mechanism of active ingredients in different organs, as well as the element for in vitro biosynthesis of active ingredients.

Objective To explore the effect of apolipoprotein E (ApoE) gene polymorphism on brain volume in healthy young adults.Methods One hundred and ninety-three healthy young volunteers (age:20-40 years) were recruited in Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University between August 2013 and May 2014.Two milliliters of peripheral blood were collected for the determination of ApoE genotype using direct sequencing of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products.Brain MRI scans were performed using three-dimensional T1-weighted turbo field echo imaging sequence.The diffcrences of brain morphometry between the ε4 carriers group (ε3/ε4 and ε4/ε4 genotype) and the ε4 non-carriers group (ε3/ε3 genotype) were analyzed using voxel based morphometry (VBM).Results The ε4 carriers accounted for 14.51％ (28/193) of the total population.Twenty of ε4 carriers and 45 of ε4 non-carriers were included in the final images analysis.VBM analysis showed that the ApoE ε4 carriers had 10 atrophic brain areas compared with the ε4 non-carriers (P ＜ 0.005,uncorrected,10 continuous voxels),which mainly located in the right anterior cingulate,the bilateral caudates,parietal lobes and lateral temporal lobes.Conclusions The influence of ApoE gene polymorphisms on brain volume has appeared in the youth.The ε4 gene is related to the reductions of the gray matter volume in multiple brain areas.

Objective To summarize the clinical presentation, pathology features, and treat-ment principle for primary testicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Methods Twelve patients were di-agnosed with primary testicular lymphoma. The mean age was 62 years (36-78). Of the patients, unilateral primary testicular tumors were found in 11 cases and bilateral tumors were found in 1 case. All cases had swollen testes, 3 cases had mild pain and 1 had low-grade fever. Ultrasonic examination detected solid mass in all 12 cases. CT scan revealed retroperitoneal enlarged lymph nodes in 3 cases. Nine patients were diagnosed with disease of stage Ⅰ E, 2 of stage Ⅱ E, and 1 of stage Ⅲ E. All of the patients underwent radical orchiectomies. Postoperative treatment included: CHOP chemotherapy for 10 cases, radiotherapy after chemotherapy for 5 cases, and surgery alone for 2 cases. Results Post-operative pathology results were non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in all cases. One patient lost in follow up, one died within 2 years because of other disease. The 1, 3 and 5 year actual survival rates were 82% (9/11) ,40%(4/10),20% (2/10), respectively. The relapsed organs included contralateral testis(3/ 11), central nervous system(3/11), liver(1/11)and retroperitoneal lymph node(1/11). Conclusions The prognosis of the primary testicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is very poor. Chemotherapy must be used after surgery for any stage. Stage Ⅰ E and Ⅱ E patient should be treated by surgery combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Contralateral testis should be irradiated prophylactically. Pa-tients beyond stage Ⅱ E should accept chemotherapy after surgery and radiotherapy according to the patient's status.

Objective To discuss perioperative features, operative approach and surgical effects of spinal tuberculosis in older patients. Methods Retrospective analysis was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 45 patients with spinal tuberculosis ranging in age from 61 to 78 years (average, 67 years). The lesion was located in thoracic vertebrae in 9 patients, thoracolumbar vertebrae in 14, lumbar in 16, and lumbosacral in 6. Preoperative Frankel grades were B in 7 cases, C in 21, D in 11 and E in 6. Among them, 21 had cardio-cerebrovascular disease, 10 had diabetes mellitus. With preoperative medicine and chemotherapy for 2-3 weeks, all patients were treated surgically. The surgical procedures included: 1) Posterior focus debridement, bone grafting and one-stage posterior transpedicular screw system fixation in thoracic vertebrae (T2-T7). 2) Anterior debridement, bone grafting and one-stage posterior transpedicular instrumental fixation in lumbosacral vertebrae (L5-S1). 3) Anterior focus elimination, bone grafting and one-stage anterior plate fixation in the other vertebrae. Results Forty-five patients were followed up for 24 to 40 months, with the average of 28.5 months. No severe complication occurred during and after operation. Forty-four cases had recovered and 1 recurred. Spinal fusion occurred 12-18 months after operation. Frankel neurological grades improved significantly. Conclusion With the effective management of comorbidities in perioperative period,the elderly could tolerate surgical treatment. The appropriate approaches, thorough debridement and reasonable bone grafting with internal fixation are key to therapeutic success.

Objective To investigate the influencing factors of learning adaptability of nursing student in the emergency department and come up with relevant countermeasures. Methods Two hundred nursing student in the emergency department participated in the survey. A self-designed questionnaire on their learning adaptability and the results were analyzed. Result The job category, work environment, disease of the patients, internship time, teaching method and the professional identification were the top six factors influencing their learning adaptability situation. Conclusion Such measures as strengthening the orientation of student nurses, cultivating their observation ability and communication skills, enhancing the consciousness about law, increasing practice time appropriately, improving teaching methods and ability, and strengthening sense of identity can guarantee effective internship and adaptability of the nursing student in emergency department.
