This article was aimed to study the intestinal absorption about main active ingredients of pectolinarin and pectolinarigenin in Carboned Cirsium japonicum DC. The absorption rate and absorption rate constant were taken as indicators. The intestinal absorption of pectolinarin and pectolinarigenin were compared by everted rat intestinal sac method among different parts of the small intestine. The results showed that the absorption rate constant of pectoli-narin among duodenum, jejunum, ileum and colon parts were 0.505 1 ± 0.192 7, 0.936 0 ± 0.187 2, 0.732 0 ±0.133 5, 0.251 3 ± 0.027 6 (μg·h-1·cm-2). The absorption rate constant of pectolinarigenin among the duodenum, je-junum, ileum and colon were 0.059 1 ±0.008 3, 0.093 3 ±0.029 2, 0.112 3 ± 0.035 6, 0.029 4 ± 0.009 1 (μg·h-1·cm-2). It was concluded that the absorption of both ingredients increased over time. The absorption of both ingredi-ents in the jejunum and ileum was higher than other parts of the small intestine. The absorption rate of pectolinarin in the entire small intestine was much higher than the absorption rate of pectolinarigenin.

BACKGROUND:Seed cells from different sources have different ability in cell adhesion,proliferation,and differentiation,which can led to bioactive diversity in constructed tissue engineered products. OBJECTIVE:To explore the differentiation ability of different original fetal osteoblasts during constructing tissue engineered periosteum at molecular level. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The contrast observation was performed at the Central Laboratory of Shaanxi Provincial Peoples’ Hospital between July 2007 and July 2008. MATERIALS:The human amnion cells(consent was obtained from the puerperant) were prepared human acellular amniotic membrane(HAAM) . METHODS:Periosteum-origin osteoblasts(POB) and cranium-origin osteoblasts(COB) were seed on HAAM,cultured for 2,4,6,8,and 10 days,and then their total RNA was extracted,which were reversely transcripted to cDNA. The real-time PCR analysis was used to reveal core binding factor ?l(Cbfa1) ,Osterix,and the cycle threshold was also measured. Objective To analyze the expression of C-reactive protein(CRP)in 2-12-year-old children with acute otitis media(AOM),we can use CRP as a strong evidence for the usage of antibiotics in the diagnosis and treatment of otitis media.Methods 250 children with AOM were selected as the research subjects.52 cases refused to test,CRP was detected in 198 children(231 ears).CRP was examined in all patients before treatment,they were followed up for 1 month.After treatment,CRP was reviewed in three days,one week and one month,respectively.Results In 198 children(231 ears),71 ears were recovered,33 ears improved,and 127 ears were ineffective in three days,the effective rate was 45.0%(104/231).100 ears were recovered,45 ears improved,and 86 ears were ineffective in one week,the effective rate was 62.8%(145/231).121 ears were recovered,56 ears improved,and 54 ears were ineffective in one month,the effective rate was 76.6%(177/231).The effective rate were significantly different among the three groops(x2=14.643、48.406,10.494,all P<0.05).Among 198 children,188 ears were in the low expression group,43 ears were in the high expression group.After three days of treatment,the composition ratio of group B and group C was changed(x2 =5.979,P=0.014),while group A had a significant change(x2 =13.948,P=0.000).Therefore,early use of antibiotics was effective in reducing CRP,so as to reduce the clinical symptoms in children.Conclusion CRP can be used to guide antibiotic monitoring.

Limulus Factor C, a serine protease zymogen from the amoebocytes of the limulus, has high affinity for endotoxin. When Factor C is activated by endotoxin, it hydrolyses artificial tripeptide substrate and measurable products are released, so it can be used as an alternative reagent for endotoxin analysis. Factor C gene of Tachypleus tridentatus was obtained through RT-PCR and the recombinant protein was expressed by Bac-to-Bac/BmNPV baculovirus expression system in silkworm larvae. The activity of Factor C was detected with diluted serum of silkworm larvae, and the sensitivity of endotoxin detected was 0.2 EU/mL when the serum was diluted at 1:500. The silkworm larvae expressed limulus Factor C could be used to develop a new low-cost endotoxin test reagent.

A reasonable and practicable quality standard was developed for mori liquid extract from different sources by TLC, HPLC and fingerprint technology. In TLC method, the compounds were separated on polyamide film using glacial acetic acid-water (1: 3) as mobile phase at a UV wavelength of 365 nm. All qualified samples had the spots of the same color as the control herb and substance. The RP-HPLC method was used to determine the content of mulberroside A with mobile phase of methanol-water (25: 75) at a wave-length of 326 nm. The mulberroside A was in good linear with a regression equation of Y = 46.965X (r = 0.999 6) in the range of 4.6 - 228 mg x L(-1). In 14 batches of samples, the mulberroside A in 4 batches of them was less than 0.5 g x L(-1), and was more than 2.0 g x L(-1) in the other batches. It was suggested that the content limit of mulberroside A should be no less than 1.5 g x L(-1). The HPLC fingerprints were evaluated by the similarities. It has found that the similarities of different mori liquid extracts were very low and the chemical diversity of mori cortex was the major factor of similarity. Moreover, the process impact was minimal. Thus the fingerprint was not included in this quality standard.

Objective To understand the hypertension prevalence situation and its associated factors among residents in Hu‐bei Province to provide a reference basis for preventing and controlling residents′ hypertension .Methods The residents aged 15 years old or more were sampled from 20 counties (cities and districts) by adopting the multi‐staged stratified cluster sampling .The unified questionnaire was adopted to conduct the face to face interview by entering home .The multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of hypertension .Results A total of 28 555 respondents were investigated ,4 135 respondents reported hypertension and the hypertension prevalence rate was 14 .48% .The hypertension prevalence rate in urban residents was 18 .41% ,which was higher than 11 .71% in rural residents(P<0 .01) .The prevalence rates in males and females were 14 .10% and 14 .83% respectively ,showing no statistically significant difference between males and females (P>0 .05) .The multivariate Logistic regression results revealed that the risk of hypertension was increased with age ;compared with job‐hololers ,the retired(OR=1 .44 , 95% CI:1 .25-1 .65)and the unemployed(OR=1 .29 ,95% CI:1 .15-1 .46)had more possibility to suffer from hypertension ;higher income earners had lower risk of hypertension ;obese people(OR=3 .09 ,95% CI:2 .63~3 .63)and diabetes(OR= 3 .87 ,95% CI:3 .30-4 .52)were more likely to suffer from hypertension .Conclusion The prevalence rate of hypertension among residents aged 15 years old or more in Hubei Province presents the increasing trend ,which needs the corresponding departments and institutions to adopt the measures to actively prevent and control hypertension .

Objective To investigate the clinical value of serum 14-3-3η protein levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and secondary osteoporosis (OP). Methods 259 RA patients and 80 healthy controls were recruited. Serum 14-3-3η levels were determined by ELISA and bone mineral density (BMD) were detected by the DEXA. Results Firstly, the levels and the positive rate of serum 14-3-3η protein were significantly high-er in RA patients than healthy controls (P < 0.000 1). Secondly, ROC curve revealed that the sensitivity of 14-3-3η protein for diagnosis of early RA was 91.7% and its specificity was 99.6% when the cut-off point was 0.879 ng/mL (AUC = 0.917, P < 0.000 1). Finally, 14-3-3η protein concentrations revealed significant differ-ence among the groups of bone mass normal, osteopenia and osteoporosis in early RA (χ2=7.974, P = 0.019). Conclusion Serum 14-3-3η protein levels increase significantly in RA , especially in early RA , which is relat-ed to clinical symptoms and osteoporosis.

Objective To investigate the effect of sarcopenia and vitamin D deficiency on osteoporosis (OP) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods Six hundred and forty-eight patients with RA were enrolled into the study,while 158 normal subjects were recruited as the control group.Bone mineral density (BMD) at total hip and lumbar vertebra 2-4 were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA),limbs skeletal muscle mass was determined in 267 patients with RA and 156 normal subjects by bioelectrical impedance method.Serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH)D] levels were determined by electrochemiluminescence in 234 RA patients and 68 normal subjects.Clinical and laboratory features,daily dosage and duration of glucocorticoid (GC) were recorded.Numerical data and categorical data comparisons were analyzed using t test,x2 test,linear correlation analysis,single factor analysis of variance test and Logistic regression analysis test.Results ① Incidence of OP in RA (37.8％,245/648) was significantly higher than that in the controls (13.9％,22/158)(x2=32.712,P＜0.01).Incidence of sarcopenia was evidently higher in RA,compared with normal subjects [55.8％(149/267),9.0％(14/156),x2=91.176,P＜0.01].Percentage of sarcopenia was higher in RA with OP compared with RA without OP group [76.6％(49/64),39.3％(35/89),x2=20.848,P＜0.01].②Compared to control group,serum 25 (OH)D levels were significantly lower in RA group [(13.4±9.7) ng/ml,(22.4±6.3) ng/ml,t=9.063,P＜0.01].Rate of vitamin D deficiency iu RA was also higher than that in controls [80.8％(189/234),36.8％(25/68),x2=49.412,P＜0.01].③The differences of serum 25 (OH)D levels among different bone metabolic state groups at lumbar vertebra in RA (normal bone mass,osteopenia,OP) were statistically significant (F=6.263,P=0.003),whichrepresented a clearly decreasing trend along with the decreasing of serum 25 (OH)D levels (P=0.001).④Linear correlation analysis found that skeletal muscle mass indexes at limbs in RA were positively correlated with BMD and serum 25 (OH)D levels (P＜0.05).⑥Logistic Regression analysis revealed that sarcopenia (OR=4.373,P=0.002),age (OR=1.083,P=0.001) and duration of disease (OR=1.074,P=0.029) were the risk factors for occurrence of OP in patients with RA.Conclusion Sarcopenia generally exists in patients with RA,which is correlated with decreasing of serum 25 (OH)D levels,and also is the risk factor for the occurring of OP in RA.

Objective To study the technology and the result of dual plane breast augmentation using nipple margin vertical incision of areola.Methods Totally 60 cases of augmentation mammaplasty were involved in this study.The nipple margin vertical incision of areola was applied obliquely into the breast through the pectoralis major fascia.The rib starting point of pectoralis major were cut off,medial to the side of the sternum.Under the pectoralis major the cavity was peeled according to the preoperative design range.Based on the different situation of the breast types Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ,dual plane breast augmentations were stripped respectively.After implanting the breast prosthesis,the upper part of the prosthesis was under the pectoralis major and the lower part was under the mammary gland.Results The 60 patients were all after childbearing,20 of whom underwent type 2 dual plane breast augmentation,4 underwent type 3 double plane and the rest underwent type 1 double plane.After 3 months to 2 years follow-up,all cases got satisfactory results,except 1 case of postoperative hematoma and 1 case appeared capsular contracture.Conclusions The nipple margin vertical incision of areola can complete types Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ dual plane breast augmentation operation,at the same time it can correct mild-to-moderate mastoptosis.
