China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(2):343-345
A comparison of plant and animal stem cells can highlight core aspects of stem-cell biology. In both kingdoms, stem cells are defined by their clonogenic properties and are maintained by intercellular signals. The signaling molecules are different in plants and animals stem cell niches, but the roles of argonaute and polycomb group proteins suggest that there are some molecular similarities.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(2):165-168
Based on the current shortage of genuine/false authentication and quality evaluation in the molecular identification, and the weak functional gene research in the establishment of two-dimensional molecular markering methods for Chinese materia medica, the authors proposed a new method, the bimolecular marking methods (BIMM) for Chinese materia medica, combining DNA marker and metabolomics marker, that could simultaneously research the species and quality differences at the molecular level at the present stage. The authors introduced the concept, principle, methods, and technical process of BIMM, and summarized the technical advantages in this paper. Meanwhile, the application of BIMM in the identification of multiple sources of Chinese materia medica, years-identification, different locations, elite germplasm research, discovery of new drugs resources, protection of new varieties was also discussed. As a supplement of two-dimensional molecular markering method for Chinese materia medica, BIMM would not only expand connotation of identification of Chinese materia medica but also provide another effective way for quality evaluating.

4.Establishing a health security system for people in rural areas
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1998;0(11):-
The authors first describe the current situation of cooperative medical care in China, pointing out that due to low levels of guarantee, difficulties in fundraising and insufficient government reimbursement, cooperative medical care in rural areas have come across many hardships. It is, therefore, imperative to set up as soon as possible a health security system for people in rural areas. Firstly, it is necessary to break up the dual social security structure of urban and rural areas and set up a model with transitional goals based on the actual situation of the country. Secondly, it is suggested that security taxes begin to be collected, bringing the health security for people in rural areas into line with the social security framework so as to promote the health security for people in rural areas without lowering the level of social security in urban areas.

Journal of Practical Obstetrics and Gynecology 2010;26(1):33-36
Objective:The clinical features, maternal and fetal outcomes and management of pregnant women with uterine malformation during the pednatal period were investigated.Methods:99 pregnant patients with uterine malformation as research group and 100 pregnant patients without uterine malformation as control group were recruited in Peking Union Medical College hospital from January 1 st in 2000 to September 30th in 2008.A retrospective study was done to compare the clinical features, matemal and fetal outcomes in these two groups.Clinical management of pregnancy with uterine malformation. Results:In the research group, the incidence of caesarean section, threatened abortion, preterm rupture of membrane, abnormal presentation, and placenta accrete were higher than those in the control group. The average fetal weight was smaller than that of control group. There were no significant differences in postpartum hemorrhage and perinatal child death in these two groups. Conclusions:Patients with uterine malformations more likely undergo C-section.Postpartum hemorrhage and other pregnant complications should be paid more attention.

Objective To explore the role of growth factor receptor-bound 2 (GRB2) in homo sapiens eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 alpha 2 (EEF1A2) promoting the carcinogenesis and development of pancreatic cancer. Methods The human pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 with low expression of EEF1A2,was transfected by Ad5/F35-EEF1A2 plasmid. The expression of EEF1A2 in human pancreatic cancer cell lines BxPC-3 cells with high expression of EEF1A2,was down-regulated by small interfering RNA (siRNA) interference. The expressions of GRB2 in SW1990 and BxPC-3 cells were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot before and after interference. The pancreatic cancer BxPC-3 cells were interfered by specific and efficient chemical synthesized siRNA fragment. The changes of BxPC-3 cell proliferation and migration were observed by methyl thiazoly tetrazolium (MTT) and Transwell assay before and after interference. The data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance. Results After human pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 was transfected with Ad5/F35-EEF1A2 plasmid, the expression of GRB2 at mRNA and protein level both increased significantly (F=5.67,6.39,both P<0.05).After the expression of EEF1A2 was inhibited by EEF1A2-siRNA,the expression of GRB2 at mRNA and protein level both decreased significantly (F=6.59,4.69,both P<0.05).After BxPC-3 cells was transfected with siRNA-GRB2 for 72 hours, the results of MTT assay indicated that the absorbance value was 1.22±0.14,compared with negative control group (1.42±0.15) and blank control group (1.39 ± 0.15) the difference was statistically significant (F =6.63,P< 0.05).The results of transwell assay showed that the migration ability of cells in siRNA-GRB2 group decreased. After 24 hours, the number of migrated cells was 24.10±4.25,compared with negative control group (54.72±5.24) and blank control group (51.26 ± 6.23) the difference was statistically significant (F=55.00,P< 0.05).Conclusion GRB2 is key molecule in EEF1A2 promoting the progenesis and development of pancreatic cancer.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(8):460-464
Background:The morbidity and mortality of gastric cancer remain high worldwide, and it is urgent to explore new targets for the diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer. Nuclear protein 1 (Nupr1)has a variety of biological functions, especially in the tumorigenesis and development of the malignancies. Aims:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Nupr1 in gastric cancer. Methods:Quantitative RT-PCR was used to determine the mRNA expression of Nupr1 in 72 cases of gastric cancerous tissue and the paired paracancerous tissue. Western blotting and immunohisto-chemistry were employed to detect the protein expression and cellular localization of Nupr1. The correlation of Nupr1 with the clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer was analyzed. Results:Expressions of Nupr1 mRNA and protein in gastric cancer were both significantly higher than those in paracancerous tissue (P < 0. 05),and their expressions were coincident. Nupr1 protein was expressed mainly in cytoplasm, and the nuclear expression was reduced. Expression of Nupr1 mRNA in gastric cancer was significantly correlated with tumor size, differentiation, pathological type,Bormann's classification, depth of invasion, lymph node and distant metastases and TNM staging (P < 0. 05),and was not correlated with gender, age and site of tumor (P > 0. 05). Conclusions:Nupr1 is overexpressed and correlated with invasion, metastasis and progression of gastric cancer. It can be used as a novel biomarker for early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation, and as a potential target for treatment of gastric cancer.
