1.Analysis of coronary angiography characteristics in cases with acute myocardial infarction complicated combined with diabetes mellitus
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(31):20-22
Objective To investigate the coronary angiography characteristics of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) combined with diabetes mellitus (DM). Methods Forty-five AMI patients combined with DM and 45 AMI patients without DM all received coronary angiography and the results were compared retrospectively, then the differences of coronary angiography and electrocardiogram characteristics were analyzed. Results The ratio of triple vessel lesions and diffuse lesions of coronary artery were more higher in AMI patients combined with DM than those in AMI patients without DM [64.4%(29/45) vs 35.6%( 16/45) and 82.2%(37/45)vs 40.0%(18/45),P< 0.05]. Non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) was more common seen in AMI patients combined with DM than that in AMI patients without DM [37.8% (17/45)vs 17.8% (8/45),P<0.05]. Conclusion AMI patients combined with DM often have NSTEMI with triple vessel lesions and diffuse lesions of coronary artery.

Objective To explore the value of vascular enhancement technology (VET) in the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of stenting for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS).Methods Two-dimensional ultrasound, color Doppler and VET were performed on 39 BCS patients with 41 stents, the static and dynamic images of stents and vessels with stents were stored.VET and two-dimensional ultrasound imaging quality of intravascular stent were compared.Patients with stent stenosis found by ultrasound were examined by digital subtraction angiography(DSA).The ranges of stent thrombosis were measured by DSA and VET and the difference was compared. Results VET image quality scores of endovascular stent were higher than those of the two-dimensional ultrasound, the difference was statistically significant. The ranges of stent thrombosis measured by VET were similar to DSA.Conclusions VET can improve the clarity of intravascular stents.VET and color Doppler can enhance the clinical value of ultrasound in the evaluation of therapeutic efficacy of stenting for BCS.

Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of retroperitoneal laparoscopic nephronsparing surgery for renal cell carcinoma of the early stage. Methods:Between June 2003 and June 2008,53 patients (31 males and 22 females) with renal mass were selected to undergo wedge resection of the tumor through retroperitoneal laparoscopy.Spiral computerized tomography (CT) and color Doppler ultrasound were used to provide information for nephron-sparing surgery (NSS).Patients with small (≤3 cm),peripheral, shallow and exophytic tumors,at a distance which exceeded approximately 10 mm between the tumor and renal collecting system, were enrolled into our studies.Surgical resection was performed along a resection line about 0.5 cm from the tumors. Results:All procedures were technically successful.Mean operating time was 96 min (ranging from 75 to 110 min).Mean warm ischemia time was 15 min (ranging from 10 to 21 min).Mean estimated blood loss was 70 m L (ranging from 40 to 120 mL).Mean hospital stay after the surgery was 4.2 days (ranging from 3 to 6 days). No intraoperative or postoperative complications occurred.Of 53 patients,52 had negative surgical margins and a 63-year male patient had a positive surgical margin.Neither local recurrence nor trocar-site metastasis was observed in the 53 patients during followups averaging 39 months (ranging from 11 to 83 months). Conclusion:Under the modified techniques of the surgery and conservative criteria for patient selection, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy can be safely and effectively performed and satisfactory outcomes are achievable.

Objective To explore the applications effect of evidence-based nursing in the health education for patients with mixed vaginal infections. Methods One hundred and sixty-eight patients with mixed vaginal infection were divided into observation group(n=84) and control group(n=84).Based on the evidence-based nursing method, the observation group first raised questions, then sought evidence to determine the conclusion according to the literature search, and finally combined with clinical evidence to formulate a reasonable plan for health education and effectively implemented. The control group was given conventional nursing. The two groups were compared in terms of rate of disease-related awareness in return visit 1 month after discharge, behavior 2 months after discharge and disease relapse 6 months after discharge. Results The rate of disease-related awareness and behavior in the experiment group were better than those of the control group significantly(all P<0.05).The rate of disease relapse of the experiment group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Application of evidence-based nursing method for patients with vaginal infections in health education can guide the nurses' health education target, improve the patients' cognitive and behavior and reduce the rate of disease relapse.

Recently, many researches showed that vitamin D was involved in the pathophysiological processes of cardiovascular diseases. The incidence of vitamin D deficiency was increased with aging, and might be associated with an increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease with aging. In this paper, the association of vitamin D with cardiovascular diseases and the possible mechanisms are reviewed.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2006;26(5):591-3
The cell killing effects and bystander effects of double suicide gene on pulmonary carcinoma cells were explored. Lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549) were transfected with different titers of adenovirus vector and followed with different concentrations of 5-FC after a recombinant adenovirus vector carrying CD/UPRT gene (Ad-CD/UPRT) was constructed. The cell viability was measured by MTT assay 4 days later. The cell viability was dropped to 30.57 %-8.62 % after 10 MOI of Ad-CD/UPRT transfected and 5-FC (10-1000 microg/mL) administration. Furthermore, Ad-CD/UPRT-infected A549 cells showed a profound neighbor cell killing effect in the same methods. These results suggested that Ad-CD/UPRT/5-FC system can effectively suppress growth of lung adenocarcinoma cells, which may provide a novel and powerful candidate for lung cancer gene therapy strategies.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Tongxinfang on coronary collateral formation and stent-restenosis in patients with coronary artery disease after stenting.Methods61 patients with coronary artery disease were randomly divided into the treatment group (n=30), and control group (n=31). Patients of the treatment group were taking Chinese medicine Tongxinfang for six months, but cases of the control group only received basic treatment. Coronary collateral formation, stent-restenosis and ejection fraction (EF) of patients of two groups were assessed through aniograms and echocardiography before treatment and after six months.ResultsCoronary collateral formation and EF of patients of the treatment group improved significantly compared with cases of the control group (P<0.01 or P<0.05), but the minimal lumen diameter and percent of diamter stenosis were not significantly different between two groups (P>0.05).ConclusionTongxinfang can improve coronary collateral formation and EF.
