Clinical Medicine of China 2008;24(9):923-925
Objective To investigate the application of neuronavigator in the resection of neurospongioma and management of brain shift. Methods Operation protocol was made according to three dimensional structure of neumspongioma under neuronavigation. The focus was sought by using viewing wand for the resection. Results All focus were removed under neuronavigator. The size and operation time was associated with brain shift along the operation pathway.Operative approach and depth of lesion was related to brain shift.Loss of large volume of cerebrospinal fluid exerted influences on the shift of codex along the operative pathway and plane side. Conclusion Neuronavigator can effectively protect nerve function when used in the resection of neurospongioma. As for brain shift, strict navigation and operative procedure would be useful for reducing loss of cerebrospinal fluid, removed volume of brain tissue and avoiding early release of tumor hydatid flui.

Objective To study the relationship between insulin resistance and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RASS) in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to provide the best treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus with hypertension . Methods Ninety cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus were included. After stratified by gender, all the patients were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group. According to whether taking hypotensor, the patients with hypertension were further divided into non-medication group, calcium channel blockers (CCB) group, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) group respectively. Results In female patients with hypertension, the IAI, levels of rennin and angiotensin II were higher than those in non-hypertension group and the systolic pressure of female patients taking ARB was lower than those taking CCB. Pearson′s correlation analysis showed that angiotensin II and aldosterone was positively correlated with HOMA-IR but negatively correlated with IAI in females. Conclusions In female newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus , RASS is related to the development of insulin resistance , so RASS antagonists are the first choice to achieve better blood glucose control in female patients.

Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine 1983;0(03):-
Adult male rats were divided at random into two groups and trained on the treadmill running schedules, 60 min/day and 10min/day for group A and B separately. Four weeks later the ultrastructure of the left ventricular myocardium was examined and the specific surface of mitochondria wasmeasured. Comparing to the corresponding control group, the specific surface of mitochondria in the two groups of trained rats was decreased significantly. (5.883+0.12 um and 6.050?0.12 um to 6.564?0.17 um). This means myocardium mitochondria in trained rats were swelling. The reason might be that the myocardium injury was induced by exercise training.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2008;17(7):624-626
Objective To study the effect of myocardial infarction induced by distal left ascending artery occlusion on left ventrieular(LV) synchronism. Methods Routine echocardiography and vector velocity imaging were performed within 2 hours before and 7-14 days after myocardial infarction by occluding distal left ascending coronary arteries in experimental pigs. Routine eehocardiographie parameters of LV, including end diastolic and systolic diameters, volumes, and spherical indexes were measured or calculated. Six segmental peak systolic velocity, strain and strain rate were compared between pre- and post-myocardial infarction. Results After myocardial infarction, LV end diastolic, end systolic long diameter and end systolic volume increased with decreased ejection fraction. With the 6 segmental systolic velocity, strain and strain rate significantly reduced, the mean 6-segmental time to peak strain rate delayed significantly. Conclusions Abnormal synchronism after myocardial infarction may aggravate LV systolic dysfunction.
