Objective To evaluate the effect of preoperative oral finasteride on patients with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) undergoing holmium lasterenucleation of prostate (HoLEP).Methods A total of 156 BPH patients from Department of Urology in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital from Sep.2010 to Mar.2012 was analyzed retrospectively.79 patients receiving oral 5 mg/d finasteride before operation were selected as medication group, and the 77 patients without taking finasteride were selected as control group. The perioperative data, including operation time, amount of washing fluid during operation, preoperative and postoperative changes of hemoglobin level and postoperative bladder washing time were compared between two groups. Results Compared with control group, the changes of hemoglobin level after HoLEP,amount of washing fluid during operation, and postoperative bladder washing time with normal saline were significantly decreased in experimental group[(1.08±0.27) g/L vs.(1.55±0.32) g/L,(27.51±3.67) L vs.(36.89±6.47) L,(24.85±4.17) h vs.(35.87±5.10) h,all P<0.05].Conclusions Oral finasteride before HoLEP can reduce perioperative bleeding and the volume of bladder irrigation with normal saline.

Objective To investigate the effects of Xuebijing injectio (Chinese herb preparation) on intestinal function and inflammatory responses in severe burn patients. Method Thirty-two patients with comparable severity in burn injury were randomly divided into Xuebijing injectio treatment group (n = 16) and control group (n = 16). Patients in both groups received routine burn therapy, while those in Xuebijing treatment group additionally received Xuebijing injectio 100mL in intravenous drip twice a day for 7 days. Before the treatment and on the 3rd and the 7th day after the treatment, blood concentrations of diamine oxidase (DAO), lipopolysaccharide (LPS) ,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were determined in both groups. Analysis was made by SPSS 12.0 software. Results The plasma levels of DAO, LPS, TNF-α and IL-6 were decreased in both groups after the treatment. However, the plasma levels of DAO, LPS, TNF-α and IL-6 in the Xuebijing treatment group were significantly lower than those in control group on the 3rd and 7th day after the treatment (P< 0.05).Conclusions Xuebijing injectio could protect intestinal function, decrease the plasma level of endotoxin and lessen zhe inflammatory responses in severe burn patients.

Objective:To investigate the effect of standardized nutritional therapy for gastric cancer during perioperation.Methods:Seventy-six patients with gastric cancer who underwent nutritional therapy were randomly divided into observation group (38 patients) and control group (38 patients),between May 2015 and May 2016.In the observation group, the nutritional therapy was made by medical workers who had received the training of Total Nutritional Therapy (TNT) and Goal Nutrition Therapy (GNT) for Cancer Patient. In the control group, the nutritional therapy was given by doctors according to their conventional experience.Nutritional conditions, gastrointestinal function recovery conditions, complications and hospital stays were compared between the two groups. Results:First, the weight, triceps skinfold thickness and arm muscle circumference of preoperative 1 day and postoperative 7 day in the observation patients were significantly higher than those in the control patients (P < 0.05).Second,the level of serum prealbumin of preoperative 1 day, postoperative 1 and 7 day in the observation patients was significantly higher than that in the control patients (P < 0.05).Third,the time of anus exhaust and defecate in observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group (P < 0.01).Fourth,each group had one patient who suffered bleeding after operation, and 2 patients in control group had anastomotic leakage.Fifth, the time of hospital stays in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group (P < 0.01).Conclusion:The standardized nutritional therapy for gastric cancer can improve the patient's nutrition status, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, and then decrease the time of hospital stays during perioperation.

Objective To investigate the expression and function of SH2 domain containing protein tyrosine phosphatase SHP 2 of thymocytes in ? ray irradiation induced leukemia in mice. Methods BALB/c mice were divided into canceration group, non canceration group, and control group. The expression, level of tyrosine phosphorylation, and enzyme catalytic activity of SHP 2 in thymocytes were detected by Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, and biochemical method. Results There was obvious correlation among the expression, level of tyrosine phosphorylation, and enzyme catalytic activity of SHP 2, which were significantly higher in the canceration group than those in the non canceration group and the control group ( P

Objective To further investigate the pathohistology of chronic gastritis in children and the relationship between helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and mucosal chronic inflammatory. Methods Gastric antrum biopsies were carried out from children who had chronic gastritis confirmed by gastroendoscopy during the past 3 years in our hospital. The results of pathohistological observation were analyzed by retrospectire method. Results One thousand six hundred cases of chronic gastritis were included,in which 1007 cases without Hp infection,593 with Hp infection.Among the patients without Hp infection, mild inflammatory were much more than mode-(rate) or severe inflammatory(86% vs 14%).Although,in patients with Hp infection, mild inflammatory were the most common presentation(63%),moderate and severe inflammatory were more predominant in patients with Hp infection. The degree of inflammatory was increased with the quantity of Hp infection. The ratio of lymphocytes, neutrophils and lymphoid follicles in gastric mucosa was much higher in Hp positive group than negative one(94%,40%,22% vs 60%,11%,5%,respectively),and the difference was significant in statistic analysis.Gastric mucosal atrophy was found more in Hp positive group(16.5%) than negative one(7%).The proportion of intestinal metaplasia in cases with Hp infection was 1.5% compared with 0.1% in these children. Conclusion The study shows that there is a close relationship between Hp and antrun chronic inflammation and mucosal atrophy.

Objective To investigate alteration of SHP-1 mRNA and protein of bone marrow cells of leukemia mice after ?-ray exposure. Methods A total of 318 BALB/c mice were exposed to ~(60)Co ?-ray once a week for 4 weeks, and the total dose of ?ray received by mice was 7.00 Gy.By pathological examination,39 mice developed thymic lymphoma,14 acute lymphocytic leukemia,21 T-lymphoblast leukemia/lymphoma,1 spiroma,4 malignant yolk sac tumor.Exposed to ?-ray,the mice that developed leukemia or were free of canceration were used in our study(n=10 in each group),and another 10 mice free from irradiation served as control.SHP-1 mRNA and protein in femoral bone marrow cells were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(FQ-PCR) and Western blotting respectively. Results SHP-1 mRNA in leukemia mice was(5.26?2.14),significantly higher than that of mice free of canceration(3.68?1.27) and controls(2.95?1.09)(P

Objective To investigate the alterations of SHP-2 mRNA of thymus cells of mice with ? ray-induced leukemia. Methods BALB/c mice were randomly divided into canceration group, non-canceration group, and control group. The gene mutation and content of SHP-2 mRNA in thymus cells were detected by PCR-SSCP, DNA sequencing, and real time fluorescence quantitative PCR (FQ-PCR). Results PCR-SSCP showed there was gene mutation within 700~1 096 bp of SHP-2 mRNA in thymus cells of mice in the canceration group, which was not supported by DNA sequencing. No significant difference in change of SHP-2 mRNA content was found in thymus cells in canceration, non-canceration, and control groups. Conclusion There is translational abnormality of SHP-2 mRNA in thymus cells of mice with ? ray-induced leukemia, which is presented as translational enhancement.
