Objective To evaluate the value of echocardiography in patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta. Methods The eehoeardiographie results of five patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta were reviewed retrospectively. Results Severe pulmonary hypertension occurred in all the patients,besides accompanied with patent duetus arterious, no other congenital malformations combined. Three patients underwent operation. Patent ductus arterious was missed in one patient's diagnosis. Another patient was missed isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta in several echoeardiographic examinations, once misdiagnosed as complete transposition of the great arteries. Conclusions There are many anatomic and hemodynamic similarities in patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta. Grasping their common charaeters and exploring multi-position and multi-section are helpful to make correct diagnosis.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of local prophylactic application of methotrexate(MTX) in laparoscopic linear salpingostomy. Methods The data of 102 women with confirmed unruptured tubal pregnancy and desire to conceive were collected.They were divided into two groups: the study group(local application of MTX in the operation,n=51) and the control group(without application of MTX,n=51).The demographic data,the incidence of persistent ectopic pregnancy(PEP)postoperation,and the hysterosalpingography(HSG) 3 months(postoperation) were analysed,and the side effects of the study group were observed. Results There was 1 case of PEP in the study group and 9 cases in the control group(2.0% vs 17.6%,P0.05).There were no obvious side effects such as nausea,vomit and dental ulcer in the study group. Conclusion Patients who were treated with local MTX injection during the laparoscopic linear salpingostomy present less incidence of PEP with no obvious side effects.

Objective To study the clinical outcome of breast conserving treatment of breast ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS).Methods The data of 62 patients with pathologically proven DCIS who underwent breast conserving operation and adjuvant radiotherapy were retrospectively compared with 62 concurrent cases of stageⅠ or Ⅱ infiltrating ducatl carcinoma who received breast conserving operation and adjuvant readotherapy.Results The recurrence rate in DCIS cases was 6.4%(4/62),among them,3 cases belonged to comedo type;the recurrence rate in early infiltrating type of ductal breast carcinoma was 19.3%(11/62)(P

AIM: To investigate the effect of natural medicinal monomer elemene (Ele) on apoptosis of lens epithelial cells (LEC) and its the cellular and molecular mechanism in vitro. METHODS: The bovine LEC were cultured with Ele and used to observe the ultrastructure changes under transmission electron microscope and to detect DNA content and mitochondrial transmenbrane potential (??m) changes by flow cytometry. RESULTS: The typical morphological changes of LEC apoptosis in Ele group were observed under transmission electron microscope, such as chromatin condensation and aggregation at the nuclear periphery, and nuclear fragmentation as well. Objective To study the effects of gantry rotation time on image quality in 64-slice spiral CT. Methods Using the same CT technique and body mode as those used for 64-slice spiral CT, delta phantom was firstly layed on the isocenter, then scanned and reconstructed with SOMATOM Sensation 64-slice spiral CT. Slice sensitivity profile(SSP) was measured from which modulation transfer function (MTF) were got by Fourier transfer. The Catphan500 phantom was layed on the table, then scanned and reconstructed with SOMATOM Sensation 64-slice spiral CT. The maximum linepair and minimum size of the targets visualized. Results The MTF curve was nearly overlapped on 0.5 s and 1.0 s gantry rotation time, the values of 5% MTF were 11.3 LP/cm and 11.9 LP/cm. Their spatial resolution and low contrast resolution were completely identical.Conclusion The image quality is no distinction on 0.5 s group and 1.0 s group of gantry rotation time. In order to shorten the scan time and eliminate the breath defect, we suggest that the 0.5 s gantry rotation time be used routinely at body spiral scan mode.

Objective To study the prevalence and characteristics of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF).Methods A total of 48 patients with diffuse parenchymal lung disease(DPLD) including 25 IPF and 23 other DPLD were enrolled from Department of Respiratory Disease in the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.All patients were subjected to 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring.Pulmonary function test and HRCT of lung were performed at the same time.Results The prevalence of GERD in IPF patients was 64.0％,which was significantly higher than that in other DPLD patients.DeMeester scores were significantly higher in IPF patients than those in non-IPF group[(22.8 ± 21.5) score vs (15.7 ± 14.0) score respectively P ＜ 0.05].Numbers of reflux longer than 5 minutes [(3.8 ± 4.1) time vs (2.1 ± 2.1) time respectively) and reflux index (1.8 ± 1.7 vs 1.3 ± 1.2) in IPF group were higher than those in non-IPF group,yet without statistical significance.Patients with IPF had significantly higher values of following parameters than those in non-IPF patients including percentage of total reflux time(pH ＜ 4.0) (9.2 ± 5.1) ％,percentage of upright reflux time (8.5 ± 5.2) ％,percentage of supine reflux time (10.8 ± 10.7) ％,numbers of reflux (54.2 ± 22.7) time,numbers of regurgitation longer than 5 minutes (6.3 ± 4.2) time,thelongest reflux time (14.5 ± 15.3) min,reflux index 2.5 ± 1.7 and DeMeester scores (34.9 ± 20.3) time (P ＜ 0.05).DeMeester score was positively correlated with gastroesophageal reflux diseases questionnaire (GerdQ) score (r =0.667,P ＜ 0.01).The prevalence of typical GERD sympotoms in the IPF-GERD patients was higher (heartburn 7/16,regurgitation 6/16) than that in IPF patients without GERD (heartburn 2/9,regurgitation 1/9).Conclusion Patients with IPF have a high prevalence of GERD,but usually without typical GERD symptoms.In the hospitals 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring not available,GerdQ can be used to identify GERD in IPF patients.

Objective To investigate the change and clinical significance of thyroid CT value in patients with Graves disease and Hashimoto' s thyroiditis (HT).Methods One hundred and twelve Graves patients (GD group),54 HT patients (HT group) and 36 healthy people (NC group) were selected as our subjects.Computed tomography (CT) value of thyroid were measured.Results The CT value of the left thyroid gland was (70.53 ± 15.44) Hu in GD group,while (70.50 ± 16.01) Hu at the right side.In HT group,the CT value of the left thyroid gland was (53.77 ± 4.88) Hu,and (52.38 ± 6.67) Hu at the right side.The CT value of the left and right sides was (99.66 ±9.80) Hu and (100.77 ± 10.66) Hu in the NC group respectively.The CT value of GD and HT group were lower than that of the NC group (P ＜ 0.01),and the CT value of the HT group lower than that of the GD group more significant (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion (1) The CT value of the GD group and the HT group are significantly lower than the NC group and the CT value of the HT group reduces more apparently than that of the GD group.(2) CT values can be used as an early,non-invasive diagnosis of GD and HT secondary indexes.
