Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of the Yiling-Qutan Decoction on treating Sub-health and the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods 219 cases of Sub-health and belonging to dampness-phlegm syndrome and were collected and treated with Yiling-Qutan Decoction for 1 month.The effective rate of syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine and state of Sub-health,syndrome score of traditional Chinese medicine and sub-health status score were observed.Results The effective rate of syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine:7 patients were cured,35 cases were significantly effective,171 cases were effective and 6 cases were unfruitful.The improvement of syndrome score of and Sub-health status were also significantly better (P＜0.01).Conclusion It was effective to treat sub-health with Yiling-Qutan Decoction.

Objective To explore the pathogenic course,clinical features and prognosis on hallervorden spatz disease(HSD).Methods To review and sum up clinical data of three patients of 1985 with HSD in one family,and followed up survey in 2001.Results The same parents had three(2 males,1 female) of six children who were suffered from HSD.Clinical features include bilateral pigmentary degeneration of the retina,optic atrophy and progressive dementia,and lay in bed after several years with convulsive seizure,opisthotonus,limb rigidity,hyperreflexia, pyramidal sign positive;they were suited therapy to the illness.2 cases for death,another case for progressive deterioration,the patient lost labour ability and couldn't take care of himself.Conclusion HSD is kindred hereditary disorder,major cases occur the symptoms before 20 years old (progressive deterioration).After attacking about 20 years the patients died.The HSD gene located on chromosome 20p12.3 p13.

OBJECTIVE: Analyze the data of the patients with sensorineural hearing loss in China and study the classification and incidence of inner ear malformationsby the high-resolution computed tomography. METHOD: The investigation took a retrospective review of CT findings relating to the 2,747 cases of outpatients. The inner ear malformations diagnosed by CT were classified according to the methods proposed by Sennaroglu. RESULT: (1)843 cases of inner ear malformations were found in 2747 cases of patients with sensorineural hearing loss by CT examination. The incidence of inner ear malformation was 30.69%(843/2747). (2) The epidemiological information of 843 cases of inner ear malformation according to Sennaroglu's classification was as follows: cochlea was 52. 31%(441/843), simple vestibular aqueduct was 40.33%(340/843), simple vestibular/ semicircular canal/internal auditory canal were 7. 35%(62/843) of the group. (3) 441 cases of cochlea malformation were consisted of these types of malformation: Michel deformity was 1.13% (5/441), cochlear aplasia was 1. 81% (8/441), common cavity deformity was 3. 17% (14/441), incomplete partition type I was 8. 62% (38/441), cochlea hypoplasia was 9. 07% (40/441) and incomplete partition type II was 76. 19% (336/441) of the group. CONCLUSION The results suggested that 30. 69% cases of inner ear malformation can be found in patients with sensorineural hearing loss, which is more higher than reported by the high-resolution computed tomography. Sennaroglu's classification is instructively significant in investigating the status of inner ear malformations.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for standardizing chemotherapy drug use in tumor patients,and to investigate the points of pharmaceutical care. METHODS:2 242 medical records of tumor chemotherapy were sampled from 4 third grade class A hospitals to investigate chemotherapy drug plan and pharmaceutical care. The reasons for irrational drug use were analyzed, and the points of pharmaceutical care were summarized. RESULTS:There were 1 295 cases of irrational chemotherapy drug use, among which irrational dose accounted for 26.87%;irrational antiemetic drugs use 14.44%;irrational chemotherapy plan 13.13%;irrational drug selection 10.89%;irrational dosing order 10.04%. 6 items of rational chemotherapy drug use monitoring index were summarized,which were rationality of scheme selection,drug selection,drug dose,dosing time and order,solvent concentration, route of administration,adjuvant drug use;covering the process of chemotherapy. CONCLUSIONS:Pharmaceutical care can be standardized through rationality investigation on chemotherapy drug use of tumor patients,which contributes to improving pharma-ceutical care level of clinical pharmacists,and rational drug use the clinic.

Objective To observe the effect of Donglian capsule on nonenzymadc protein glycation.Methods An animal model of DM was established by injecting a little dosage of STZ in high fat-fed rats.When the models were established successfully,corresponding medicines were supplied for 12 weeks and then the blood glucose,glycosylation serum protein(GSP)and aldose reductase(AR)in rats semm were measured.Results Comparing with the model group,the levels of blood glucose,GSP and AR in Metformin Hydrochloride tablets group and Chinese medicine group were decreased markedly (P＜0.05).Conclusion Donglian capsule Can restrain nonenzymatic protein glycation and so thus prevent and treat DM.

Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of 21 elderly patients with tuberculosis detected at autopsy. Methods Retrospectively analyzed the data of underlying diseases,clinical characteristics,clinical diagnosis,and causes of death for these 21 elderly patients with tuberculosis detected at autopsy. Results All the 21 patients were man,mean age was(88.0±6,9)years and had one or more concomitant diseases.Cough,sputum and fever were frequent due to other complicated respiratory infection.Anemia,hypoalbuminemia,decreased body mass index,increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate were very common in elderly patients,sputum acid-fast bacillus was positive in 11.8%cases.There was no primary tuberculosis.There were 9 secondary tuberculosis,3 disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis,19 tuberculous pleurisy and 9 non-pulmonary tuberculosis detected at autopsy.Compared with the result of autopsy,the clinical and radiography diagnosis accuracies were poor.Only 5 patients were clinically diagnosed as tuberculosis.All 5patients received antitubereulous chemotherapy,2 of them ceased therapy due to liver or renal toxicity. Conclusions Tuberculosis is a systemic disease in elderly patients.Because of medical aspects of ageing,co-morbid states,ignorance and mis-perception of symptoms,and atypical manifestation of disease,the diagnosis is difficult in this population.Our study confirms the importance of considering tuberculosis as a diagnosis in elderly even in the absence of typical clinical radiological presentations.

Objective To evaluate the effect of improving microcirculation and preventing cell Ca 2+ overload in preventing the development of acute pancreatitis (AP).Methods 278 AP patients admitted from 1990 to 1994 and from 1995 to 1999 were retrospectively analyzed. Routine conservative managements were performed in the first stage,improving microcirculation and preventing cell Ca 2+ overload were performed in the second stage.Results During the first period,there were 124 patients with AP.The conversion of mild AP to severe AP developed in 28 of 120 patients with mild AP.18 of 32 patients with severe AP developed systemic complications,24 patients developed local complications,there were 9 deaths.During the second period,154 cases were treated ,the conversion of mild AP to severe AP presented in 16 of 149 patients with mild AP. 4 of 21 patients with severe AP presented systemic complications,19 patients presented local complications, 3 patients died.Conclusion Improving pancreatic microcirculation and preventing pancreatic cell Ca 2+ overload are helpful not only to prevent the conversion of mild pancreatitis to severe pancreatitis,but also to prevent progressive pancreatic necrosis, and improve the prognosis of acute pancreatitis.
