BACKGROUND: Fluorine used for light-cured fluorine-containing resin can reduce and prevent dental caries, as well as play a long-term effect against tooth decay. However, there are rare reports on the composite preparation and performance.OBJECTIVE: To study the preparation and performance of the light-cured fluorine-containing resin. METHODS: Triethylamine as a catalyst, bisphenol A, bisphenol S, glycidyl methacrylate, trifluoroacetic anhydride and inorganic fillers (modified silicon dioxide, hydroxyapatite or titanium dioxide at mass fraction of 5％, 10％, 15％, 20％)were mixed to prepare the light-cured fluorine-containing resin. Then, the tensile strength, bending modulus,polymerization conversion and water of the composites were tested, and the morphology of the resin was observed under transmission electron microscope.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: At the same mass fraction, the tensile strength was highest in the titanium dioxide group, higher in the hydroxyapatite group, and lowest in the silicon dioxide group (P < 0.05). At the same mass fraction, there was no difference in the bending modulus between the titanium dioxide group and the hydroxyapatite group (P > 0.05), while the bending modulus in the silica group was significantly higher than that in the other two groups (P < 0.05).At the same mass fraction, the polymerization conversion of the composite resin was higher in the titanium dioxide group than the hydroxyapatite and silicon dioxide groups (P < 0.05), but there was no difference between the latter two groups (P > 0.05). With the increasing of mass fraction, the water absorption of the composite resin kept an increasing trend.Under the transmission electron microscope, the fracture surface of the silicon dioxide group was relatively flat, and the resin body exhibited good biocompatibility with the filler; in the hydroxyapatite group, the fracture surface was rough with obvious ups and downs, and the biocompatibility between the resin body and the filler was relatively poor; in the titanium dioxide group, the fracture surface was layered and the filler settled in the resin body, and moreover, titanium dioxide particles were deposited on the bottom of the resin, resulting in larger voids and filler particles as well as poor biocompatibility. To conclude, the light-cured fluorine-containing resin has good mechanical properties, curable properties and absorption rate.

Objective To evaluate the value of volume rendering technique of MSCT in the diagnosis of pediatric pectus carinatum. Methods MSCT data of 36 children with pectus carinatum were collected.Volume rendering and multiplanar reformation recon-struction techniques were adopted at a postprocessing station.Results There were 35 cases of chondrogladiolar variant and 1 case of chondromanubrial variant,27 cases were symmetric and other 9 cases were asymmetric.VR technique clearly demonstrated the abnormal changes of sternum,costae and costal cartilages.Conclusion VR technique of MSCT can fully display the three-dimension morpho-logical changes of pediatric pectus carinatum,which can supply accurate information for minimally invasive treatment procedure.

Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) was the preferred method of non-operation treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Radical resection of HCC remains difficult,extrahepatic metastasis was not easy to deal with,and repeated treatment aggravated the liver injury,so the long-term efficacy was poor.Sorafenib could control tumor angiogenesis and block the proliferation of tumor cells.A male patient with primary HCC and in the stage Ⅱb according to the Chinese clinical liver cancer staging system was treated by TACE combined with sorafenib and antiviral treatment in Henan Cancer Hospital.After the treatment,the intrahepatic lesions were inactive,and the pulmonary metastasis was partially relieved.The patient was followed up till May 2012,and the survival time was 39 months.The hepatic function was normal,and the hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication was negative.No intervention treatmentrelated complications were detected,and the KPS score was 100.

Objective To study the relationship between insulin resistance and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RASS) in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to provide the best treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus with hypertension . Methods Ninety cases of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus were included. After stratified by gender, all the patients were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group. According to whether taking hypotensor, the patients with hypertension were further divided into non-medication group, calcium channel blockers (CCB) group, and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) group respectively. Results In female patients with hypertension, the IAI, levels of rennin and angiotensin II were higher than those in non-hypertension group and the systolic pressure of female patients taking ARB was lower than those taking CCB. Pearson′s correlation analysis showed that angiotensin II and aldosterone was positively correlated with HOMA-IR but negatively correlated with IAI in females. Conclusions In female newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus , RASS is related to the development of insulin resistance , so RASS antagonists are the first choice to achieve better blood glucose control in female patients.

Objective:To compare the concordance between subjective experience and clinician-rated in different treatment phrase of elderly patients with depressive disorder,and to explore the relevant factors.Methods:Sixty-nine consecutive elderly patiems with depressive disorder diagnosed with International Classification of Diseases-10 criteria were included.The Visual Scale for Depression(VSD) were used to evaluate subjective experience of depression,while the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD),Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA),Minimum Mental State Examination (MMSE) were used by clinician to evaluate depression symptom,anxiety symptom and cognition at baseline,2-,4-and 52-week of the treatment respectively.Results:Compared with baseline,VSD scores were increased at 2 weeks and 4 weeks [(2.7 ± 1.6),(5.3 ± 2.0) vs.(7.0 ± 1.8),P ＜ 0.001],HAMD scores were decreased at 2 weeks and 4 weeks [(36 ± 11),(17 ±9) vs.(9 ±8),P ＜0.001],HAMA scores were decreased at 2 weeks and 4 weeks [(27 ± 10),(14 ±8) vs.(7 ±6),P ＜0.001].No significant differences were found between 4 weeks and 52 weeks.There was no correlation between VSD and HAMD scores at baseline and 2 weeks.There were significant correlations among scores of VSD and HAMD(r =-0.31,-0.74,Ps ＜ 0.05),HAMA (r =-0.36,-0.76,Ps ＜ 0.05) at 4 weeks and 52 weeks.Using logistic regression analysis,the concordance between VSD and HAMD related with the factors of HAMD,higher scores of anxiety/somatization factor were associated with lower concordance (OR =0.87),and higher scores of weight factor (OR =1.86),diurnal variation factor (OR =2.00),hopelessness factor (OR =1.13) were associated with higher concordance.Conclusion:Compared with acute depression phase,concordance between subjective experience and clinician-rated for depression may be higher at depression remission phase in elderly patients with depression,which suggests that characteristics of depression symptom may have a certain impact on the self-awareness for depression experience.

Adult male rats were divided at random into two groups and trained on the treadmill running schedules, 60 min/day and 10min/day for group A and B separately. Four weeks later the ultrastructure of the left ventricular myocardium was examined and the specific surface of mitochondria wasmeasured. Comparing to the corresponding control group, the specific surface of mitochondria in the two groups of trained rats was decreased significantly. (5.883+0.12 um and 6.050?0.12 um to 6.564?0.17 um). This means myocardium mitochondria in trained rats were swelling. The reason might be that the myocardium injury was induced by exercise training.

Objective To study a new stuff-block therapy method to promote closure of external gastrointestinal fistula. Methods Twenty-eight patients with different type of external gastrointestinal fistulae in different sites were treated with fibrin glue stuff-blocking technique. The fibrin glue dispensary system designed by the authors has a double-lumen catheter in different size.When the catheter inserted via the fistula to about 1cm from the intestinal fistula,the glue was relased through the catheter to seal the whole fistula. Results The insertion of dispensary catheter into the fistulae was successful in all the cases. No side-effect was observed in all the patients. In 17 patients the fistulae healed about one week after one time treatment, 11 patients′ fistulae healed in about two weeks after 2-3 time treatment. Twenty-five patents were followed up for 3-6 months . The fistula sustained healing and normal deal was restored.Conclusions Stuff-blocking of the fistula with fibrin glue by means of the dispensary system designed by the authors has satisfy results. It provided a new method for the treatment of external gastrointestinal fistula .

Objective To explore the influential facts of betel quid chewing for patients with oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) in Haikou,Hainan Province.Methods One hundred and twenty three patients in the Haikou City People's hospital were investigated regarding their clinical information,including age,sex,origins,kinds and time of betel nut chewing,obvious clinical features,cognition for its harmfulness and so on.Results (1)The mean age was 36.5 years old,the most common patients were the group between the ages of 30 and 50 among 123 patients,male preferred to chewing betel nut,the female fond of betel nut were mostly Li minority women.(2)People chewing the dry betel nut had the higher incidence than the ones who prefer the fresh in five years.The both were significant difference (x2 =18.79,P ＜0.01),however,the incidence difference between the patients at the same time and the ones chewing kinds of betel nut was not significant (P ＞ 0.05).(3)The early clinical features of some OSF patients included stimulating pain,mucosal blanching,gradual inability to open the mouth and fibrous bands.(4)Although 61 patients (49.59％) knew about the harmfulness of betel nut chewing for their oral health,they could not change their lifestyle.Conclusions Male prefers to chewing betel nut,the female fond of betel nut are mostly Li minority women in Haikou area,the parts of patients could not overcome the habit ofchewing betel nut; people chewing the dry betel nut has the higher incidence than the ones who prefer the fresh's at early period,and of the two the former prone to disease than the latter.
