1.Electroretinography in Vitreous Opacities.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1979;20(1):43-47
ERG was checked by an instrument set up by authors in eyes with vitreous opacity with and without retinal disorders. It is composed of a preamplifier(frequency response of 0.3Hz~240Hz, gain of 80 decibel), Tektronix 5103N oscilloscope(with 5A18N dual trace amplifier and 5B12N dual time base). Retina was stimulated by Grass P22 photostimulator at settings of 1, 4, 8, and 16 light in tensities. Following findings were obtained; 1. Voltage of a-wave was much increased with little change of b-wave, when intensities of photostimulation was increased. 2. Definite ERG waves were recorded with high intensities of light stimulation, when low intensities failed to produce them. 3. Even in high intensities of light stimulation, oscillatory potentials were not recorded. 4. In case of diffuse retinal damage and vitreous opacities, peak time of a and b wave were markedly delayed as well as decrease of voltages.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2019;35(3):445-457
To develop more active LTR retrotransposons in Phyllostachys edulis, a Ph. edulis LTR retrotransposon (Ph-LTR2) was identified, and the expression pattern of the transposon under stress was systematically analyzed. Ph-LTR2 transposon is 6 030 bp in length and belongs to the Reina subfamily in the Ty3-Gypsy family. With the similarity of 96.41% of both LTR sequences, the Ph-LTR2 transposon inserted the moso bamboo genome about 61.92 thousand years ago. There are 5 copies identified in the genome. The Ph-LTR2 transposon domain includes GAG (gag protein) protein domain, PR (Proteases) protein domain, RT (Reverse transcriptase) protein domain, RH (Ribonuclease H) protein domain, INT (Integrase) protein domain and CHR (Chromatin organization modifier) protein domain. The expression patterns of INT, RT and RH were detected by real-time quantitative PCR. The three domains were found to have specific expression patterns at different tissues of the bamboo. Under the conditions of low/high temperature, methylation inhibitors treatments, irradiation and high salt stress, transcription levels of the three domains of the Ph-LTR2 transposon increased with different degrees. Specifically, after treatment with low/high temperature and methylation inhibitors, the transcription level was up-regulated; after low dose radiation treatment and low concentration of salt solution treatment, the transcription level was also increased, but the expression level decreased with increasing dose of radiation and concentration of salt solution. These results indicate that the expression pattern of the Ph-LTR2 transposon responds to the changes of the external environment, but the exact mechanism is not yet known. The results of this study laid a certain theoretical foundation for the development of the genetic tool based on Ph-LTR2 transposons.

5.The Methods of Insertiong the Root-type Lacrimal Tube and an Artificial nasolacrimal duct into the Men's.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1965;6(1):35-39
Author has designed one of the lacrimal vinyl tube which is shaped like the root of the grass (Fig 1) and also an artificial nasolacrimal duct which can be inserted into the man's nasolacimal duct through the nose (Fig 6). It is obtained good result by inserting the root- type vinyl tube the nasolacrimal duct in the cases of the obstruction on the nasolacrimal duct, which is for making permanent lacrimal intubation. Experiment has proved there were no any troubles in the normal nasolacrimal duct by inserting the artificial nasolacrimal duct into the normal man's.

To understand Lophatherum gracile plant community's structural characteristics, a survey of community structure and species diversity was conducted through quadrat sampling in Yongchuan district of Chongqing. The results showed that there were 386 species vascular plants, belonging to 117 families and 229 genera. Based on habitat, community structure and species composition, L. gracile were found in three community types: Pinus massoniana community, banboo community, shurb community. Vertical structure was composed of three layers, including tree layer, shrub layer and herb layer. Species in shrub layer was the richness. P. massoniana is the only dominant species of the community, it can not regenerate naturally, the shrub layer has a greater effect on the community of L. gracile in the future. In addition, the banboo community and shurb community is not stable because of human's activity. Therefore, the community characters of L. gracile should be taken care of conservation when the resources are utilized.

Mycobiology 2014;42(1):86-91
A fungal survey that targeted the tribe Arachnopezizeae (Hyaloscyphaceae, Helotiales) was conducted in Korea. One variety belonging to Proliferodiscus and one species belonging to Rodwayella are recorded for the first time from Korea. Proliferodiscus inspersus var. magniascus differs from P. earoleucus by its amyloid reaction in ascal apices and larger asci. Rodwayella citrinula is distinguished from other members of the genus by small ascospores and its occurrence on grasses. The descriptions, illustrations and cultural characteristics of the species are provided.

Korean Journal of Urology 1998;39(3):227-231
PURPOSE: In a previous study increasing the extracellular clacium concentration enhanced the phasic contractile response to low frequency stimulation(2Hz) to a significantly greater degree than the enhancement of high frequency stimulation(16Hz). To investigate the sensitivity of the detrusor contractile responses to field stimulation, bethanechol and ATP in calcium free buffer, the current study was designed. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Each rabbit bladder strip of 5x10mm in size was incubated for 30 minutes in the Tyrode's solution. Individual strips were utilized to generate the response to field stimulation(2, 8 and 32Hz), bethanechol(1.0-250microM) or ATP(0.25-2mM). Upon completion of the first stimulation in Tyrode's solution, each tissue was washed 3 1.tomes at 15 minute intervals with fresh Tyrodes. At 15 minutes following the last wash, the Tyrode's solution was replaced with solution containing no calcium+1.0mM EGTA and incubated for ditional 5, 15 or 30 minutes. At the end of 5, 15 or 30-min period of tulibration a second round of field stimulation or dose-response curves to bethanechol or ATP were generated. The contractile responses were monitored via an FT03 force transducer and recorded on a Grass 7D polygraph and expressed as the g tension per 100mg of tissue. RESULTS: (1) Progressive decrease in both basal tension and spontaneous contractile activity (2) more rapid decrease in the contractile response to 2 and 8Hz field stimulation than to 32Hz stimulation (3) more rapid decrease in the contractile response to lower concentrations of bethanechol and ATP than to high concentrations (4) greater maximal inhibition of the contractile response to low concentrations of bethanechol and ATP than to high concentrations. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that detrusor contractility to a sub-maximal stimulation rather than maximal stimulation is more sensitive to extracellular calcium depletion.

Journal of the Korean Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 2001;5(2):116-122
Purpose : To find sensitivity of MRI imaging methods to slow flow phantom study was performed with conventional Spin-Echo, gradient echo based Phase Contrast, fast GLASS, and heavily T2-weighted Fast Spin Echo pulse sequences. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A siphon driven flow phantom was constructed with a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt catheter and a GE phantom to achieve continuous variable flow. Four different pulse sequences including Spin-Echo, Phase Contrast, GRASS and Heavily T2-weighted Fast Spin Echo were evaluated to depict slow flow in the range from 0.08 ml/min to 1.7 ml/min and to compare signal intensities between static fluid and flowing fluid. RESULTS: In the slow flow above 0.17 ml/min conventional Spin-Echo showed superior apparent contrast between static and flowing fluid while GRASS was more sensitive to the very slow flow below 0.17 ml/min. It was not accurate to calculate flow and velocity below 0.1 ml/min with a modified PC imaging. CONCLUSION: Four different MR pulse sequences demonstrated different sensitivity to the range of slow flow from 0.08 ml/min to 1.7 ml/min. This finding may be clinically useful to measure CSF shunt flow or detecting CSF collection and thrombosis.

Mycobiology 2000;28(3):133-141
Twenty species representing five genera of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi were isolated from twenty-four soil samples of the rhizosphere of the family Gramineae in Paekryung and Daecheong islands. A few species such as Glomus invermaius, G. marcrocapus var. marcrocarpus and Scutellospora coralloidea were recorded for the first time in Korea. The number of spores per 10g of soil was in the range of 8~337 in Paekryung and 16~349 in Daecheong island, respectively. The number of species per 10g of soil was 2~8 species in Paekryung and 2~7 species in Daecheong, respectively. Among them, G. macrocarpus var. macrocarpus was the most abundant species in both islands. The species diversity and evenness were almost similar in Paekryung and Daecheong Islands. Based on the host plants in two islands, the species diversity showed the highest value of 1.63 in Ischaemum crassipes, whereas the eveuness of species showed the lowest value of 0.35 in Eragrostis ferraginea.
