2.Test for Bacterial Endotoxins in Cefalotin Sodium for Injection by Gel Clot

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for test of bacterial endotoxin on cefalotin sodium for injection by gel clot.METHODS:Cefalotin sodium for injection was diluted in water for determination of bacterial endotoxin and allocated to sample negative and sample positive controls to determine its maximum noninterference concentration;Then bacterial endotoxins were diluted into solutions of different concentrations with the test solutions,and interference test was carried out by using tachy?pleus amebocyte lysate sensitivity compound nucleus.RESULTS:The maximum noninterference concentration of cefalotin sodium for injection was6.68mg/ml;And cefalotin sodium at the concentration of1.67mg/ml did not interfere with the test for bacterial endotoxins.CONCLUSION:The present method can replace pyrogen test with rabbit for examination of bacterial endotoxin in cefalotin sodium for injection.
3.Clinical study on joint surgery of anterior-posterior in the treatment of vitreoretinal diseases complicated with cataract

Objective To study on the effect of joint surgery of anterior-posterior in the treatment of vitreoretinal diseases complicated with cataract.Methods 78 vitreoretinal diseases patients complicated with cataract(86 eyes)were recruited.All the cases accepted vitrectomy and cataract extraction at the same time.The vision improving situation and postoperative complications of the treatment were analyzed.Results After the joint surgery of anteriorposterior,the visual improvement rate was 88.4%(76/86 eyes),and with unchanged vision in 7.0%,and decreased vision in 4.7%.In 4 patients with decreased vision,1 case was a secondary neovascular glaucoma,and 2 cases were macular hemorrhage or hiatus,1 case was a retinal detachment.In phase Ⅰ,72 eyes did not implant artificial lens,63 eyes(87.5%)got postoperatively improved vision,and 14 eyes implanted artificial lens,and all of them got improved vision(100.0%),and the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).The total postoperative complication rate was 10.5%(9/86 eyes).Conclusion Joint surgery of anterior-posterior in the treatment of vitreoretinal diseases complicated with cataract had determined curative effect and lower complication rate,which deserved further study and widely using.

Thalassemias are a group of inherited disease which is caused by globin gene defects.Identification and quantification of hemoglobin play a very important role for the screening and diagnosis of thalassemia,especially the quantitative analysis of Hb A2 and Hb F.Through past 60 years,the methods for Hemoglobin analysis have been developed from starch gel electrophoresis,paper electrophoresis,cellulose acetate electrophoresis,agarose gel electrophoresis,column chromatography,high-performance liquid chromatography till capillary electrophoresis,Its development closely associates with the research on thalassemia.No matter what kind of methods is chosen,quality control is very important.
5.Investigation and analysis of health management of patients with different demographic characteristics after discharge

Objective To understand the total score of health management knowledge demand and self evaluation score of known health management knowledge,in order for hospitals to take more reasonable and effective health management education for patients after discharge.Methods From March to May of 2012,700 patients in a certain three level of first-class general hospital were selected before their discharge,using self-made health management questionnaire for investigation.The total score of health management knowledge demand and score of known health management knowledge among 700 patients with different demographic characteristics underwent statistics.Results After investigation,the results showed that patients with different nationalities,payment method,the average monthly income,family history,residence and intend demonstrated statistical significance in total score of health management knowledge requirement.Patients with different occupation,culture degree and accept frequency showed statistical significance in known health management knowledge.Conclusions According to the current investigation of total score of different health management knowledge demand and known health management knowledge in patients with different demographic characteristics,the hospital should take corresponding adjustment for health management mission to ensure the health management quality of patients after discharge,and improve the health management level of patients after discharge.
6.Study on HIV/AIDS knowledge,attitudes and health education among health workers in a frontier area of Yunnan where national ethnics are major inhabitants and HIV incidence is still low

Objective To investigate knowledge and attitudes of healthcare workers with respect to HIV/AIDS in Fugong County,Nujiang District and to highlight the difficulties facing local healthcare workers in HIV/AIDS health education in order to help them improve their skills and capability of health education through participatory learning.(note:the major inhabitants in NuJiang are the Lisu ethnic).Methods A survey with questionnaires was carried out before starting a HIV/AIDS health education training course for healthcare workers in Fugong County.Then an interactive and participative HIV/AIDS training was provided for these healthcare workers.A post-training survey was followed.Results Before the training course,the score of HIV/AIDS related knowledge was 56.71 on average.The average score increased to 83.93 after the participatory HIV/AIDS health education,(by SPSS analysis).Such an increase was obviously associated with their participation in the training course.The knowledge the participants learned during the training course was effectively used for conducting health education among local inhabitants.Conclusion We found that a participatory/interactive HIV health education training course is useful in raising the awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS among healthcare workers in areas such as Fugong.We encourage more efforts to hold such courses in order to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
7.HPLC Fingerprint of Semen Cassiae

Objective To establish HPLC fingerprint for the identification of Semen Cassiae. MethodsChromatographic fingerprint of Semen Cassiae was investigated by RP-HPLC and the gradient elution mode was applied to chromatographic separation. Data were analysed by fingerprint similarity evaluation software to compare the similarity of the samples. ResultsThe HPLC fingerprint of Semen Cassiae was established preliminarily. ConclusionHPLC Fingerprint method is repeatable and can be used in quality control of Semen Cassiae.
8.Normal Values and Development of Click- Auditory Brainstem Responses in Children of 3~5 Years Old

Objective To study the normal ranges and features for click-auditory brainstem responses of children in 3~5 years old.Methods Normal results of click-ABR from 132 normal children (224 ears)were ana-lyzed.The children were divided into three groups:Group A (74 ears from children of 3 years old),Group B (78 ears from children of 4 years old)and Group C (72 ears from children of 5 years old).The ABR data were statisti-cally analyzed by ANOVA with SPSS.Results At 80 dB nHL,the wave Ⅰ,Ⅲ,and Ⅴ latencies and intervals of wave Ⅰ- Ⅲ,and wave Ⅰ-Ⅴ of ABR for 3 -year old children were 1.24 ±0.09 ms,3.53 ±0.16 ms,5.39 ± 0.23 ms,2.30±0.15ms and 4.15 ±0.22 ms,respectively,and for 4 -year-old children,they were1.23 ±0.10 ms,3.52±0.39 ms,5.30±0.21 ms,2.28±0.39 ms and 4.07 ±0.22 ms,respectively.For 5 - year-old chil-dren,they were1.24±0.10 ms,3.67±0.63 ms and 5.34±0.19 ms,2.42±0.63 ms and 4.09±0.19 ms,respec-tively.The thresholds for 3-year children were 22.57 ±4.40 dB nHL,for 4 - year children,21.15 ±4.83 dB nHL,and for 5 - year children,21.11±3.48 dB nHL.Among three groups,only latency of wave V and interval of wave I-V had statistical differences,and a further analysis showed the statistical differences in Groups A and B. No statistical differences were observed in Groups B and C.The latency of wave I and thresholds of ABR for the children of different ages were not significantly different.Conclusion The resvits of this study suggest the brainstem may mature at 4 years old.
9.Significance of p53 in cervical cancer and its influence on radiosensitivity

Radiotherapy is a major local treatment for cervical cancer.However, local uncontrollability due to radioresistance is still common.Therefore, the prediction of radiosensitivity is quite beneficial to develop an optimal treatment strategy for individual patients.Multiple factors could influence the radiosensitivity of cells, and p53 status is one of them.The upstream or downstream molecules of p53 could also be regulated to affect the radiosensitivity of cervical cancer.The aim of the review is to analyze the difference in p53 status between different types of cervical cancer and to discuss how p53 regulates the response to radiotherapy.
