1.Situation of tobacco smoking in Raglai women at Khanh Son, Khanh Hoa

Random survey on 334 Raglai women in Khanh Son, Khanh Hoa age of 15-49 in 2003. Results showed that the smoking rate was 55.1% (95% CI: 49.6-60.5). Nicotin addiction was still low or very low. Smoking women are more likely to be malnutrion by three times than non-smoking women. 47% of respondents in the survey had intention of giving up smoking. Meanwhile, the knowledge about smoking damage was still limited.

2.Parasite infection in children in Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa province

An examination of 210 children stool samples showed that the rate of parasite infection was 33.8%. Among them ascarisdiasis 29.52% ankylostomiasis 4.67% and trichuriasis 1.43%. The rate of multiinfection was 5.63%. There was a significant difference of the infestation rate between Kinh and Raglai ethnic children
