1.The primarily results of method of treatment of the defect of facio-maxillary by microsurgical flap.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):37-38
2 patients received the microsurgical flap. Both flaps has been living well, the functions were recovered well. The shape of face was relatively equal. The patients received a false maxila and teeth. The moving functions of the leg donated the calcaneal bone were well recovered without influencing the life. The conclusion: the defct of facio-maxillary area is a major lession that should be treated. The technique of microsurgery with using the calcaneal bone flap helps reconstructing the facio-maxillary area.

2.Gastroesophageal reflux
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2001;11(4):35-39
This retrospective study was undertaken to characterize the endoscopic and histopathologic pattern of patients with gastro-esophageal reflux with esophagistis. We investigated 58 patients (24 women, 34 men: mean age 44.33 years). The histopathologic pattern was classified in 3 grades: Grade 1: 19 patients, grade 2: 18 patients, grade 3: 21 patients. The sex ratio, age, endoscopic and particular histopathologic pattern was discussed. We conclude that the gastro-esophageal reflux disease is a common complaint in adult population. Despite it is not a severe damage, it can complicate to Barret’s oesophagus, a premalignant lesion of esophageal adenocarcinoma.

3.Five HIV/AIDS cases treated by didanosin combined indinavir at Khanh Hoa
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2000;10(4):80-81
Our study were carried out on 5 patients (3 males, 2 females, the average age was 37.6) in order to evaluate primarily the regime of anti-retrovirus with didanosin and ididavir on 5 HIV patients at some stages of disease. The obvious effectiveness of combination found in the first 3 months, the tolerance was rather good, therefore the drugs can be used for along time. However, the results were satisfactory when using early and the patients were not addicted

4.Some opinions of the clinical maxillary ferment tumor
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):19-21
30 patients with the maxillary ferment tumor treated in the Institute of Face- Maxilla- Tooth during 1994- 1997 participated to a study. The results haves shown that age of disease acquiring were 16-30 years old. The morbidity rate of this disease in female was more frequent than this in male. The early diagnosis of disease impacts significantly on the progress, efficacy of the treatment and opportunity of functional rehebitation after treatment. The tumor in the corner of the mandibular teeth were frequent and related with reaimed teeth. Therefore, the abnormality in this area should be considered. X-ray played very important role in the diagnosis

5.Some remarks on 44 cases of acute pancreatitis treated in the Department of Surgery, Son Tay Hospital during the period from Jan 1999 to Oct 2001.
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 1999;(10):28-31
The most vulnerable age group is 31-50 years old (52.3% of patients) with a sex ratio of male/female was 1/1, and the main causes of the great majority of cases are undetermined. The treatment is mainly preservative at a surgical institution and the severe complications must be promptly interventional surgical.

6.Some opinions of the spinal anesthesia by dolargan in abdominal delivery
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):13-14
105 pregnant women received the spinal anesthesia by dolargan for the abdominal delivery in Son Tay Hospital during 1-12/2000. The duration of action of the drug, duration of analgesia, efficacy of anesthesia, situation of fetus, influences of the spinal anesthesia on some functions, postoperative time were monitored. The results have shown that the spinal anesthesia is a good method of anesthesia in the abdominal delivery. The care of mother is more convenient than other methods of anesthesia, the cost is lower and the safety for mother and baby is high.

7.A confrontation between clinical and pathological aspects of thymomas operated at Viet Duc Hospital
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):61-66
The authors presented 37 cases of thymomas operated at Viet Duc Hospital during 1998-2002. The results: 31 males and 6 females with medium age 46.8. The microscopic features were: medullary thymoma: 1, mixt type: 6, predominantly cortical thymomas: 4, cortical thymomas: 4, squamous cell carcinomas: 11 (4 keratinazing and 7 nonkeratinazing, basaloid carcinomas: 2, clear cell carcinoma: 1, small cell carcinoma: 6, sarcomatous carcinoma: 1 and anaplastic carcinoma: 1. Eleven cases developed the superior vena caval syndrome and most of these indicated the malignancy in the microscopic features. The relations between clinical and pathological aspects were discussed.

8.Purification of Lectin (Abrus precatorius) and its application in detecting pathogenic bacteria
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(5):112-116
Lectin (APA) was purified from jequirity bean (Abrus precatorius) by affinity chromatography on insoluble ovomucoid. Lectin (APA) and conjugate Lectin-biotin have been used in ELLA technique (Enzyme Linked Lectinosorbent Assay) to detect some pathogenic bacteria. Based on its specific bioavailability to the poD-Gal sugar compounds in cell membrane, lectin (APA) was capable of differentiating B. anthracis and B. cereus from S. flexneri, S. sonnei, C. diphteria, and Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus.

9.The value of AFP with lectin affinity in diagnosis, differentiated diagnosis, and in assessment of the effectiveness of treatment of HCC
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(5):167-171
In this study, the usefulness of the lectin reactive alpha-fetoprotein (AFP-L3) in patients with HCC, CLD and patients with HCC treated by transcatheter oil chemoembolization (TOCE) was examined. AFP-L3 levels were measured by lectins affinity electrophoresis and antibody affinity blotting. After TOCE, 40 HCC patients were classified into two groups: 1st group (n=27 with AFP-L3<15%; 2nd group (n=13) with AFP-L3>15%. Results: The mean value of AFP-L3 in the 110 HCC patients was 54.6+/-23.7%, significantly higher (p<0.001) than the value in CLD (11.2+/-3.1%). When the cut-off level was set 15% for AFP-L3, the sensitivity was 96.4%, and the specificity was 95%. Survival rates after 12 and 18 months for all 27 patients calculated according to the Kaplan-Meier methods were 88.9% and 63% in the 1st group and 38.5% and 15.3% in the 2nd group, respectively. The recurrence of HCC for 1st and 2nd group were 10.2+/-3.5 months and 12.0+/-1.7 months. Conclusions: AFP-L3 is a useful marker for the diagnosis of HCC and for differentiation of increased AFP in HCC and CLD. AFP-L3 could be useful for the evaluation of curability after TOCE.

10.Treament of lower ureteric stricture due to tuberculosis by extravesical reimplantation
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2003;7(4):245-250
Studying of 15 patients with tuberculous ureteric stricture treated by extraversical ureteral reimplantation (4 males and 11 females, 10 cases of unilateral ureteric stricture and 5 cases of bilateral ureteric stricture). The mean operation time: 101.6 minutes, mean estimated blood loss: 68.6ml, mean time of removal of urethral catheter: 7 days, mean postoperative hospitalization: 8.13 days. Postoperative complications were minimum: 1 case of mild infection because oh ureteral stent migration, 1 case of moderate intraversical bleeding... Long-term outcomes of operation were satisfactory: on 12 patients performed follow-up UIV, 8 with good amelioration and 3 with pretty good amelioration, 1 without amelioration, mean follow-up duration: 15.5 months
