Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2005;40(3):279-284
AIMTo evaluate the correlation between the swelling equilibrium quantity (Seq), dissolution rate and amino group content which were used to estimate the degree of gelatin crosslinking, and the factors which influence the crosslinking, and to investigate the crosslinking mechanism of delayed dissolution of soft capsules.
METHODSThe swelling equilibrium quantity, dissolution rate and amino group content of formaldehyde-crosslinked capsule shells were determined. Gelatin structure was analyzed by means of DSC.
RESULTSA good lineal relativity was found between the swelling equilibrium quantity, dissolution rate and amino group content (r = 0.9953-0.9985). The Seq of capsule shells was influenced by high temperature, lighting and some additives. Glycine and sodium pyrosulfite might retard the decrease of Seq of capsule shells.
CONCLUSIONThe swelling equilibrium quantity, dissolution rate and amino group content exhibited the same rule in gelatin crosslinking extent. High temperature, lighting and some additives might induce gelatin crosslinking. Antioxidant such as glycine and sodium pyrosulfite might retard the crosslinking.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2006;23(3):587-591
The hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) matrix tablet containing metoprolol succinate (MS) as a model drug was obtained by wet method compression tablet. The effects of the amount and viscosity of HPMC, the preparation method, compressing pressure, the amount of ethycellulose (EC), the pH of dissolution medium and the speed of basket rotation on the drug release from the matrix tablets were evaluated. The results showed that the release rate of metoprolol succinate from HPMC matrix tablets followed Higuchi equation. The release mechanism was in line with the synthetical effect of diffusion and corrosion. Drug release was influenced by the amount and viscosity of HPMC, the amount of EC in matrices, the preparation method and compressing pressure, etc. Drug release was not influenced by the pH of dissolution medium used, and not by the speed of basket rotation, either.

3.Dosage of ketoprofen in pharmaceutical products by local capillar electrophoresis
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;331(11):21-23
Capillary Zone Electrophoresis (CZE) was used to quantify ketoprofen in 50mg ketoprofen capsules and ketoprofen gel 2.5%. The results were compared to results of spectrophotometric UV-VIS method. Results: the accuracies of 2 methods were different but not significant. Results of CZE method were rather lower than spectrophotometric UV-VIS method because impurities were separated in electrophoresis process. The authors concluded that CZE could be used to quantify ketoprofen in products

5.Dissolution test for some chloramphenicol capsule sample
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;10():10-33
This study was aimed to assess the dissolution of 4 chloramphenicol capsule products of 4 Vietnamese pharmaceutical enterprises. The results showed that most of them have a very low drug release degree. The cause may be resulted from making capsule without making particles, too raw powder, using too much insoluble excipient, too high rate of insoluble excipient. The dissolution test should be considered an item of chloramphenicol capsule specification

Journal of Korean Medical Science 1991;6(3):197-205
In order to evaluate the effects of a topical application of homologous fibronectin on the healing of skin wounds, we made 2 excisional wounds on the back skin of each rat, applied ointment with or without fibronectin purified from citrated homologous plasma, and evaluated the effect according to wound size and microscopic findings. Excised lesions treated with carrier alone, but the difference was significant only in the early phase of wound healing, 2 and 3 days, according to wound size and microscopic changes. A significant decrease in wound size could be found in both groups, treated with ointment containing and not containing fibronectin, between day 4 and 9 when wound contraction was a major contributor to wound closure. Therefore it can be concluded that topical application of fibronectin has a beneficial effect on wound healing during its early phase, but no significant influence on wound contraction.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2004;29(10):947-950
OBJECTIVETo provide experimental proof for establishing a standard quality evaluation method of adhesive property on Cataplasma by studying the factors of effect on evaluation of adhesive quality on Cataplasma.
METHODWith 180 degrees peel off test, tensile shear and adhesive force test, the influence caused by the square of samples, texture of fabric base and the moisture loss was tested with multifunctional material tester and first stickiness tester.
RESULTThe peel off strength of 40 mm wide sample is 26% lower than that of the 20 mm wide sample (P < 0.05), and tensile shear strength had no significant difference. The peel off strength of transverse fabric base was higher than that of lengthways fabric base (P < 0.01). The tensile shear strength of transverse fabric base was lower than that of lengthways fabric base (P < 0.05). The sample with 35% moisture lost had a maximum tensile shear strength and the sample which lost 30% moisture lost had a maximum peel off strength; The sample which lost 20% moisture lost had a maximum first adhesive force.
CONCLUSIONThe square of samples, the texture of fabric base and the moisture loss of samples can all affect the evaluation of adhesive quality on Cataplasma.

10.Dosage of nimesulide in tablets by second derivative UV spectrum method
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;234(4):16-18
Used second order derivative UV (200-500nm) spectrum to determine the quantity of nimesulid in tablets without through process of deal with sample. Assess linear interval, limit of detection, limit of determine the quantity between level of nimesulid solution and value of second order derivative in interval of study level, degree of accuracy of the method and result of determine the quantity of nimesulid. The result showed that: process of quantitative nimesulid was built. The method was accurate, sensitive, precise, and reproducible and could be applied directly and easily to the pharmaceutical preparations.
