2.Sustained release of diclofenac tablet formulation with hydrophilic matrix excipient
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(2):25-28
Using the full quadratic model in drug dissolution optimization, the authors built up the sustained release of diclofenac tablet formulation with hydrophilic matrix excipient. The sustained excipient releases xanthan gum which has good features such as controlling medical substance regularly, rubbing seed easily, covering tablet easily and compressed force with a little affect to the rate of medical substance release. This formulation can be applied in making up medicines with a wider scale. It is being tested its stability and evaluated its availability to apply in manufacture

5.Study on evaluation of bioavailability of nifedipine tablets
Pharmaceutical Journal 1999;282(10):19-21
The HPLC method described herein has sufficient sensitivity to determine the pharmacokinetic parameters of nifedipine in plasma. A single dose cross study was carried out in volunteers comparing the test sustained release nifedipine formulation to Adalat retard tablets. Pharmacokenetic variables were calculated from the nifedipine plasma concentration data and evaluated statistically. The results showed the test formulation to be bioequivalent to the reference tablets.

6.Study on dissoluble test for long -acting tablet of nifedipine by flow-through dissolution system
Pharmaceutical Journal 2000;291(7):20-23
Testing of pharmaceutical dosage forms for in vitro drug release and dissolution characteristics is very important for ensuring batch-to-batch quality control and to optimize formulations during product development. The ideal system for evaluating the drug release characteristics of poorly water-soluble drug formulations (as nifedipine tablets) is to maintain “sink conditions”. Flow-through dissolution systems (e.g. USP XXIV apparatus 4) can be used to over come solubility limitations. In this study, a flow-through dissolution system was installed to evaluate two sustained release nifedipine tablets (Adalat retard 20 mg and Nifedipine retard 20 mg- Life Pharma). The dissolution profiles prove that this system with the pump rate of 14-16 ml/min offers a method to evaluate nifedipine tablets, especially sustained release formulations.

Objectives: Survey on erectile dysfunction in patients with lumbosacral disc herniation and evaluation of their clinical improvement after surgical treatment of spinal canal stenosis due to herniated disc. Materials and Methods: 35 patients with lumbosacral were treated with discectomy with posterior intervertebral fusion (PLIF) surgery from 10/2021 - 4/2022 at the Department of Neurology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital. Patients were evaluated for erectile dysfunction and postoperative improvement using the IIEF-5, CSFQ-14, DASS-21, Oswestry scales. Results: The mean age was 48.49 ± 9.15 years old. 51.4% of patients had the most severe hernia at the L4-L5 disc, 28.6% L3-L4 and 20% L5-S1. 100% of patients with herniated disc have erectile dysfunction. Of which 40% had mild-moderate disorders, 34.3% had moderate disorders, 14.3% had severe disorders and 11.4% had mild disorders. The CSFQ-14 and DASS-21 scales were correlated with erectile dysfunction (p < 0.05). Surgery significantly improved pain (VAS score), activity limitation (ODI and JOA), degree of erectile dysfunction, changes in sexual function, depression and anxiety, stress of the patient 1 month after surgery (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Patients with lumbosacral disc herniation had a 100% erectile dysfunction rate with a mean IIEF-5 score of 11.69 ± 3.77. The CSFQ-14 and DASS-21 scores have a strong positive correlation with erectile dysfunction. Surgical treatment of spinal canal stenosis due to lumbosacral disc herniation improves the clinical status of herniated disc as well as improves erectile dysfunction in these patients.

Background: Suicide continues to be a leading cause of death worldwide. Recently, more than 45,000 children in the age group of 10 to 19 years died by suicide, making it the second leading cause of death in the age group of 15 to 19, surpassed only by traffic accidents, tuberculosis, and fighting. Objective: To determine the prevalence of suicidal ideation among adolescents whose parents are separated/divorced; and to explore the factors associated with suicidal ideation and describe adverse experiences among adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 309 adolescents with separated/separated parents in Hue City. Data was collected through direct interviews using a structured questionnaire. Suicidal ideation was defined as the presence of thoughts or plans related to suicide within the last 12 months. Multivariate logistic regression was applied to identify factors associated with suicidal ideation in adolescents with separated/ separated parents. Results: The study found that 15.5% (95% CI:11.7 - 20.1) of adolescents with separated /separated parents reported experiencing suicidal thoughts, in which men accounted 8.4% (95% CI:5.6 – 11.2) and women accounted 7.1% (95% CI:4.5 - 10.6). Several factors were identified as increasing the risk of suicidal ideation, including alcohol use (OR = 3.24; 95% CI:1.42 - 7.42), hyperactivity/inattention (OR = 4.96; 95% CI:1.58 - 15.605), and a poor quality of family relationships (OR = 4.82; 95% CI:1.26 - 18.50). On the contrary, certain factors were found to reduce the risk, including being in the 14-15 age group of 14-15 (OR = 0.26; 95% CI:0.10 - 0.69) and participating in physical activity (OR = 0.44; 95% CI:0.21 – 0.94). Conclusions: The research highlights a significant percentage of adolescents with separated / divided parents who experience suicidal ideation. Therefore, it is imperative for families, schools, and society to develop comprehensive strategies to monitor and address various risky behaviours among students simultaneously.

Aims:
The objective of the study was to isolate bacteriophages and conduct a comprehensive analysis of their potential against Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) strains in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam.
Methodology and results:
Twelve Xoo strains were isolated from rice fields located in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Among these strains, three strains Xoo L019, L020 and L024, showed the highest disease index of bacterial blight. Four
phages specific to Xoo were isolated from soil, water and leaf samples, and their morphologies were determined. In a test against 12 Xoo strains, phage L541, MLA23 or W41 could infect 10 of the 12 Xoo strains, while phage LBH01 could infect 8 of the 12 Xoo strains. The stability of the phages to pH, organic solvents, UV-A and UV-B was also evaluated.
Conclusion, significance and impact of study
The initial characterization of the phages indicates their potential as biocontrol agents against bacterial blight in rice. The study is one of the very first studies about Xoo phages in rice in Vietnam.
