Great progress has been made in devices and techniques for the endovascular treatment of peripheral artery diseases. The plain old balloon angioplasty, stent implantation and the emerging drug-coated balloon angioplasty have provided new means of treatment. In recent years, drug-coated balloons have been proved valuable by many clinical trials for the treatment of superficial femoral and proximal popliteal artery lesions. However, there are still insufficient evidence and much controversy about the role of drug-coated balloons in treating infrapopliteal lesions. This article will briefly review the current research status and progress of drug-coated balloons for the treatment of infrapopliteal lesions.

Objective To evaluate a new biodegradable inferior vena cava(IVC) filter by in vitro and in vivo experiments.Methods The biodegradable filter consisted of metal stent and absorbable suture,which acts as a degradable deformable switch of the filter.When the suture of the proximal metal filter degrades and lost its tension,the metal filter will change into a stent.In vitro experiments were performed to test the influence of the sterilization method and the tension of absorbable sutures to the filter's selfconvertible time,animal experiments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of emboli capture and to observe the in vivo self-convertible time of the filter.IVC stenosis,pulmonary embolus and intimal hyperplasia and inflammation were evaluated.Results Ethylene oxide sterilization did not have an adverse effect on the self-convertible time of the filters.The tension did not affect the degradation rates of the suture significantly.In animal experiments,the VCFs were successfully implanted via femoral vein approach.Not any tilt,migration or structural damage of the filters was found during the follow-up time.Postoperative fluoroscopy and autopsy confirmed that there was no stenosis or thrombosis,IVC perforation.After implantation large thrombi were captured.The sutures degraded and filters transformed into stents in 3 weeks.After 90 days IVC was patent with mild intimal hyperplasia and no thrombosis.Conclusions This study demonstrated the effectiveness and safety of the biodegradable filter we designed.

Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy is currently the most commonly used surgical procedure for right-sided colon cancer. Although this procedure is maturing in terms of key tech-niques such as the extent of surgical resection, the extent of lymph node dissection, and the recons-truction of digestive tract, it still lacks a standardized surgical procedure and quality control system. In the pre-preparation phase of the COLOR Ⅳ study (an international, multicenter, randomized contro-lled trail comparing the efficacy of intracorporeal anastomosis versus extracorporeal anasto-mosis in laparoscopic right hemicolectomy for right-sided colon cancer), the research team of the authors formulates a standardized procedure for laparoscopic right hemicolectomy based on the Delphi survey, and develops a competency assessment tool for surgical ability and quality. Attempts are being made to automate the evaluation of surgical techniques using artificial intelligence. It is hoped that the above work will help colorectal surgeons to standardize surgical operations and reduce complications, provide support for the homogenization of multicenter clinical studies, and promote the implementation of structured training for this procedure.

【Objective】 To investigate the improvement of motor function recovery and the activation of endogenous neural stem cells (eNSCs) via voluntary exercise in mice with hyperlipidemia after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). 【Methods】 Four-month-old male Nestin-CreERT2: tdTomato transgenic mice were fed with high-fat diet (HFD) for eight weeks. Type Ⅳ collagenase was micro-injected into the corpus striatum to construct mouse ICH model with the help of stereotaxic apparatus. Voluntary exercise (wheel running) was initiated on the second day after ICH and monitored daily for seven days. Neurological severity score (NSS) and beam walking test were applied to evaluate motor function and coordination. Liver and brain tissues were collected at day 9 after ICH and sliced for staining. Then the Nestin-labeled cells, Ki67⁺, and doublecortin (DCX)⁺ in subventricular zone (SVZ) were counted to evaluate eNSCs activation. 【Results】 ① Compared with those of mice fed by chow diet (CD), the body weight, blood glucose level, concentration of lipid metabolism factors and the number of Nile Red positive cells in liver tissue were significantly higher in HFD-fed mice, confirming hyperlipidemia. ② Compared with the sham group, NSS score increased and the distance of cross-beam walking of ICH mice significantly decreased, showing the deficiency of motor function. It could be rescued by 7-day wheel running, as shown by a lower NSS score and a longer cross-beam walking distance. ③ Compared with the sham group, the number of Nestin⁺/Ki67⁺ cells decreased and Nestin⁺/DCX⁺ cells increased after ICH. After 7-day voluntary exercise, the number of Nestin⁺/Ki67⁺ cells decreased but that of Nestin⁺/DCX⁺ cells further increased significantly. However, compared with ICH, the increase of Nestin⁺/DCX⁺ cells in ICH+Ex was not significant. 【Conclusion】 Short-term voluntary exercise during the acute stage of ICH improved the recovery of motor function and enhance the proliferation of eNSCs in mice with hyperlipidemia. This provides a new idea for further developing ICH accelerated rehabilitation strategy based on eNSCs.
