Journal of Modern Laboratory Medicine 2016;31(5):107-109,112
Objective To understand the differences of virulence genes and molecular typing in Campylobacterjejuni isolates from poultry products and diarrhea patients in Shenzhen. Methods According to specific primers, four virulence genes (cdtB,cadF,flaA,virB1 1 )of C.jejuni were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Molecular typing for C.jejuni strains was performed by Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).Results There were no differences of gene distribution (cdtB+,cadF+,virB1 1-)between isolates from poultry products and diarrhea patients. Two virulence genes of cdtB and cadF were found in all of ten C.jejuni strains lacking virB1 1 .The carriage rate of flaA in food-borne isolates (3/5 )was higher than those in patient isolates (2/5).In the PFGE map,the clustering analysis of C.jejuni strains showed that a total of 5 to 9 DNA bands were observed in ten strains through the digestion of Sam I.There was high homology (above 85%) between food-borne isolates and patients isolates, but the distribution of flaA in these highly homologous strains was differ-ent.Conclusion So far,C.jejuni strains with cdtB,cadF and flaA were present in Shenzhen, and showed high diversity and homology. This implies that the occurrence of diarrhea in patients with C.jejuni was associated with the contaminated poul-try products by this pathogen.Their findings can provide basic data and evidences about diarrheal disease caused by food-borne C.jejuni for the local region.

Objective:
To understand the status of suicide and self-injury among college students of Yao nationality in Guangxi and their relationship with psychological adjustment ability, and to support the prevention and intervention of suicide and self-injury behavior of Yao university students.
Methods:
From April to May 2019,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 844 Yao university students in three universities in Guangxi in demographics, psychological resilience, and forgiveness.
Results:
Among the students of the Yao ethnic group in Guangxi, 10.90% had suicidal ideation; 4.62% had suicide plan; 3.55% had suicide preparation; 2.84% had suicidal action; and 12.56% had suicidal behavior. The total scores of students with suicidal ideation in Psychological Resilience, Self-Compassion and Hearland Forgiveness Scale were significantly lower than those without suicidal ideation, which was statistically significant(t=-3.74, -5.54, -4.97,P<0.01). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that a high score for forgiveness was negatively correlated with suicidal behavior(OR=0.28) and self-harm behavior (OR=0.32)(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The psychological resilience, forgiveness, and self-compassion of Yao college students are closely related to suicide-related psychological behaviors and self-harm behaviors. Suicide and self-harm behaviors can be reduced by improving the self-psychological adjustment ability of Yao college students.

This article reported a prenatally diagnosed case of complete ring chromosome 15. A 38-year-old woman who conceived by in vitro fertilization and frozen embryo transfer underwent amniocentesis for prenatal diagnosis at 18 +5 weeks of gestation due to advanced maternal age. The result of G-banding karyotyping was mos 46,XX,r(15)[88]/45,X,-15[11]/46,XX,r(15;15)[1]. No numerical abnormalities of chromosomes or definite pathogenic copy number variations (CNVs) were detected by chromosomal microarray analysis. Amniocentesis was performed again at 31 +6 weeks of gestation. The result of genome copy number variation sequencing indicated no pathogenic CNV and fluorescence in situ hybridization on cultured amniocytes revealed nuc ish(15q)×1[15]/(15q)×3[5]/(15q)×2[80]. Based on all the prenatal diagnosis results, it was suggested that the fetus carried a complete ring chromosome 15. As the peripheral blood chromosomes of the couple were normal and no obvious abnormalities were detected by the prenatal ultrasound either in our hospital or another hospital, the pregnant woman decided to continue the pregnancy after genetic counseling and delivered a baby girl at 41 weeks of gestation. The girl showed no physical abnormalities during a seven-month follow-up.

In order to evaluate the response to vector-expressed M1 and HA genes of influenza virus in mice, we prepared recombinant plasmid pStar-M1/HA and recombinant adenovirus Ad-M1/HA containing both the full-length matrix protein 1(M1) and hemagglutinin (HA) genes of human H5N1 influenza virus strain A/Anhui/1/2005. We then combined the DNA vaccine and adenoviral vaccine in immunization of BALB/c mice with a prime-boost regime. We immunized the mice with DNA vaccine at day 0 and 28 and with recombinant adenoviral vaccines at day 14 and 42. We took blood samples before each injection and 14 days after the final injection for detection of humoral immune responses. At day 56, we sacrificed the mice and collected splenocytes for detection of cellular immune responses. ELISA and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) assay showed that specific IgG Abs against H5N1 influenza virus was induced in serum of the immunized mice. ELISPOT results confirmed that the specific cellular immune responses were successfully induced against the M1 and HA proteins of H5N1 influenza virus. This study provides new strategy for development of novel influenza vaccines.
