There are still some flaws in the private non-profit hospital supervision system since those hospitals recently began to grow in China. The paper aims to analyze the access and changing processes from the non-profit to profit hospitals and the non-profit character supervision of the private non-profit hospitals based on the literature and survey data in Hubei, Guangdong and Jiangsu Provinces. It also puts forward some suggestions on the private non-profit hospitals development including how to optimize the access process, increase taxes or liquidation in the chan-ging process, and establish the coordination supervision mechanism for the non-profit Character in China.

Success of Sanming's heahhcare reform relies heavily on the government's dominant role.Based on this inspiration, the paper discussed the responsibilities expected of the government in health protection of the people as required by national strategy, public interests and market demands, and presented the corresponding responsibilities of the government in the protection, leadership, scrutiny and management for the sake of public health. In addition the paper recommended on policies to make up for the absence and dislocation of governmental responsibilities, including all-out efforts for legislations in health protection, greater government subsidy for health protection, development of a comprehensive supervision system, and establishment of entities accountable for people's health in general.

In view of risk characteristics of surgical site infection, the risk factors of the infection were graded and classified while the risk indicators system and risk assessment matrix for surgical site infection were built, based on literature analysis, integrated use of documents analysis,Delphi method and risk quantification matrix. The study indicated that surgical skills of the surgeon and surgical time length are the most important risk factors, followed by insufficient maintenance of the operating room environment and poor baseline assessment of the patient.Risk control of surgical site infection needs to focus on these key factors, optimize utilization of resources and improve the prevention and control ability of surgical site infection.

Objective A comparison of the quality of life and present status of happiness between AIDS patients in Provinces A and B helps to analyze the impact of the prevention and control mechanism on choice of the AIDS patient care mode. Methods The quality of the life questionnaire designed by WHO for AIDS patients and the Subjective Well-being questionnaire from the Memorial University of Newfoundland were called into play to describe the quality of life and present subjective wellbeing of 93 and 57 AIDS patients respectively from Province A and Province B;these patients were interviewed to understand the systematic arrangements of AIDS control in the two provinces and their AIDS patient care models. Results Differences found in the scores of the total quality of life and subjective wellbeing between the two provinces are significant statistically (P<0.05);differences found in the scores of respective dimensions of quality of life, except for social relations, are significant statistically (P<0.05).Results of interview found that the prevention and control mechanism of Province A feature a combination of medical administration and disease control departments, management by level of city, county, township and village. The care mode is characteristic of that centering on village doctors. The patient care mechanism in Province B features sectionalized management, and its model is characteristic of that centering on local CDC aided by infectious disease hospitals. Conclusion Establishment of the AIDS prevention and control mechanism should take into account features of local resources, and different regions should provide care models to fit the needs of local AIDS patients.

This paper introduced the measures to construct the hierarchical medical system in Yichang city. The authors identified problems found and proposed the city to take the following countermeasures. Such steps included service capacity building at primary level, motivating primary medical workers, attracting patients to primary care, and improving policies of hierarchical medical system.

The burden of maternal mortality (MM) and morbidity is especially high in Asia. However, China has made significant progress in reducing MM over the past two decades, and hence maternal death rate has declined considerably in last decade. To analyze availability and quality of emergency obstetric care (EmOC) received by women at Tongji Hospital, Wuhan, China, this study retrospectively analyzed various pregnancy-related complications at the hospital from 2000 to 2009. Two baseline periods of equal length were used for the comparison of variables. A total of 11 223 obstetric complications leading to MM were identified on a total of 15 730 hospitalizations, either 71.35% of all activities. No maternal death was recorded. Mean age of women was 29.31 years with a wide range of 14-52 years. About 96.26% of women had higher levels of schooling, university degrees and above and received the education of secondary school or college. About 3.74% received primary education at period two (P2) from 2005 to 2009, which was significantly higher than that of period one (P1) from 2000 to 2004 (P<0.05) (OR: 0.586; 95% CI: 0.442 to 0.776). About 65.69% were employed as skilled or professional workers at P2, which was significantly higher than that of P1 (P<0.05). About 34.31% were unskilled workers at P2, which was significantly higher than that of P1 (P<0.05). Caesarean section was performed for 9,930 women (88.48%) and the percentage of the procedure increased significantly from 19.25% at P1 to 69.23% at P2 (P<0.05). We were led to conclude that, despite the progress, significant gaps in the performance of maternal health services between rural and urban areas remain. However, MM reduction can be achieved in China. Priorities must include, but not limited to the following: secondary healthcare development, health policy and management, strengthening primary healthcare services.

Objective:This study aims to investigate the effects of Zhibao Sanbian Pills on learning and memory ability and explore its mechanism. Methods:Cognitive decline and memory impairment in mice was induced by scopolamine. Morris water maze test, platform jumping test and dark avoidance test were used to evaluate the learning and memory ability of mice. TCMSP, TCMID database and literature search were used to search the chemical components of Zhibao Sanbian Pills. The potential active components were screened through ADMETlab 2.0. The targets were predicted by Swiss Target Prediction. GO function and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis were conducted through the Metascape database, and a PPI network was constructed for MCODE module analysis. Results:Compared with the model group, the latency of water maze test in the high-dose group of Zhibao Sanbian Pills was shortened ( P<0.05), and the time of platform quadrant and the number of crossing increased ( P<0.05). 863 active components and 401 potential targets of Zhibao Sanbian Pills were collected. The enrichment analysis of MCODE, GO and KEGG pathways found that the action pathways of Zhibao Sanbian Pills to improve cognitive impairment involve neuroactive ligand receptor pathway, calcium signal pathway, Rap1 signal pathway, PI3K-Akt signal pathway, MAPK signal transduction pathway, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor pathway, etc. Conclusion:Zhibao Sanbian Pills have the potential to improve the learning and memory ability of mice, which may be realized through MAPK signaling pathway and other neural related signaling pathways.
