Objective To study the correlations between personality characteristics and life quality of rectal cancer patients. Methods A total of 91 rectal cancer patients were enrolled in the study.Preoperative questionnaire-based survey was conducted for investigation of personality characteristics and life quality using Eysenck personality questionnaire-revised,short scale for Chinese (EPQ-RSC) and European organization for research and treatment, quality of life questionnaire-core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30).The correlations between personality characteristics and life quality were analyzed. Results The scores on the personality characteristics of rectal patients were significantly higher than norms (all P<0.05).In addition, the scores on constipation, diarrhea and economic difficulties were higher than the norms (all P<0.05).In contrast, the patients with introverted personality were subject to irritability and depression. The score on function was more than 70%.And the total score on health was 61%.The scores on symptoms and dimensions were all less than 40%.The psychoticism was negatively related with role function, extraversion and emotional function were both positively related with general health but negative with fatigue, loss of appetite and diarrhea. The nervosity was negatively related with general health, emotional function and social function, but positively related with fatigue, pains, insomnia, anorexia, financial difficulties. The lie was positively related with role function (all P<0.05).Conclusion This study suggests that targeted psychological intervention will be beneficial for improving the life quality of rectal cancer patients through preoperative analysis of personality characteristics.

The experiment was designed to compare the changes of cytoskeleton (including tubulin and actin) and cell surface fibronectin (FN) between NIH 3T3 cell line and transformed NIH 3T3 cell line by genome DNA of human lung adenocarcinoma cell line AGZY. We stained and observed these cells using immunohistochemical methods with antibody against bovine brain tubulin, phalloidin and self-made affinity column purified antibody against porcine plasma FN.Our results showed that the bundles of actin and tubulin are damaged seriously, demonofrating an unclear cytoskeleton structure and diffused fluorescence over the cells when they were transformed. The amount of membrane FN on transformed cell surface decreases significantly which is only 1/9 of NIH 3T3. The FN distribution altered markedly from thin threadlike network to spots and speckles. These results suggested that cell transformation was a complex event including the changes of cytoskeleton system and cell surface glycoproteins. In addition, it might also indicate that cause and effect relationship existed between these changes and the alteration of cell phenotype and loss of growth control.

Objective To explore the effects of collaborative nursing model on preventing anterior resection syndrome (ARS).Methods From July 2016 to April 2017, 130 patients with low rectum anus preserving operation in Anhui Provincial Hospital were selected. All of the patients were divided into observation group (n=69) and control group (n=61) according to hospital stay. Patients of control group were treated with routine nursing. Patients of observation group accepted intervention with the collaborative nursing model. The recovery of anal function and life quality of patients after surgery in two groups were evaluated with the Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core-30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) respectively. Results Three months after surgery, the score of LARS and score of the general health of QLQ-C30 was (25.49±1.67) and (79.87±4.78) respectively in observation group, higher than those in control group with significant differences (t=2.753, 3.376;P<0.05). Conclusions The implementation of collaborative nursing model can improve the recovery of anal function and life quality of rectum cancer patients as well as effectively prevent the incidence of ARS.

Objective To explore the perioperative psychological behavior interventions for patients with postoperative anxiety and pain of gastrointestinal tumor. Methods We selected 110 patients with gastrointestinal cancer during surgical treatment from gastrointestinal surgery department of Anhui provincial hospital from April 2014 to October 2014 and divided them into experimental group (n=58) and control group (n=52). The patients of control group were used conventional care while the patients of experimental group received the psychological behavior therapy, relaxation therapy and music therapy within 72 hours after surgery for evaluation of postoperative pain and anxiety on the basis of conventional nursing, and we carried on the comparison of two groups of patients with postoperative hospital stay. Results Two groups of patients with SAI and TAI were no statistical difference at time of admitting to hospital (P>0. 05) ; the SAI and TAI of the experimental group patients in postoperative one day and three days after operation are lower than those of the control group, and the difference between the two groups after surgery was statistically significant (P<0. 05);the time effect on the result without statistical significance (P>0. 05);NRS score of different time points after surgery within two groups showed that the experimental group NRS scores were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant between two groups (P<0. 05); the time effect on the result without statistical significance (P >0. 05); the experimental group patients in hospitalization days and postoperative hospitalization days were shorter than these of the control group, the difference between the two groups have statistical significance (P <0. 05). Conclusions Relaxation therapy and music therapy can significantly improve the patient′s perioperative anxiety, reduce the pain after surgery. For gastrointestinal cancer patients perioperative health of body and mind and postoperative rehabilitation, it has a positive role.
