1.Study on lifestyle in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease

Objective:To investigate the correlation between certain unhealthy lifestyles and the incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD),thus to provide the lifestyle guidelines for GERD patients.Methods:Retrospective study were conducted for 402 GERD and 276 non-GERD out-patients in Department of Gastroenterology,Third Xiangya Hospital,Central South University from August,2014 to August,2015 based on questionnaire survey,then the correlation of unhealthy lifestyles with GERD were analyzed.Results:The top 10 common symptoms for GERD were as follows:reflux,acid regurgitation,postprandial fullness,heartburn,swallow obstruction or pain,epigastric burning sensation,paraesthesia pharynges,poststernal pain,chronic laryngopharyngitis,and chronic cough.The top 8 unhealthy habits closely related to GERD were as follows:fast-eating,over-eating,spicy preferred diet,sweets preferred diet,anxious,soup preferred diet,high-fat diet,and hot eating.Single-factor analysis showed that GERD was markedly correlated to gender (male),age (≥ 60 years),BMI,smoking,alcohol fast-eating,over-eating,hot-eating,spicy preferred diet,high-fat diet,acid preferred diet,sweets preferred diet,hard food preference,strong tea preference,coffee preference,immediately on bed after meal,difficult defecation,dyscoimesis,anxious,and too tight belt,respectively (P<0.05).Logistic multiple regression analysis indicated that the largest risk factor for GERD was the fast-eating (OR=3.214,95% CI 2.171 to 4.759,P<0.001) followed by the overeating (OR=2.936,95% CI 1.981 to 4.350,P<0.001),elderly population (OR=2.047,95% CI 1.291 to 3.244,P=0.002),too tight belt (OR=2.003,95% CI 1.013 to 3.961,P=0.046),and hot-eating (OR=1.570,95% CI 1.044 to 2.362,P=0.030).Conclusion:The elderly people are at high risk for GERD,and unhealthy habits like fast-eating,over-eating,too tight belt,and hot-eating is closely related to GERD.The lifestyles such as chewing food thoroughly,splitting the meals up,warm and cool diet,keeping patients out of the too tight belt are necessary for GERD patients.
2.Effects of fluvastatin on serum E2,TNF-α,IGF-1 and BGP in experimental osteoporosis rats

Objective To investigate the effects of fluvastatin (Flu) on the levels of estradiol(E2 ) ,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) ,insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and bone glaprotein(BGP) in experimental osteoporosis rats .Methods The model of osteo-porosis was established ,all rats were ovariectomized .The rats were given Flu(20 ,10 ,5 mg/kg) through intragastric administration (ig) .After treating for 12 weeks ,weighed all rats ,then sacrificed all rats ,removed the uterus and weighed its wet weight ,and calcu-lated uterus index ;the levels of E2 ,TNF-α,IGF-1 and BGP in serum were detected .Results Flu did not affect the uterus weight in experimental osteoporosis rats ;20 mg/kg Flu could increased the osteoporosis rat′s serum levels of E2 and IGF-1(P<0 .05) ,de-creased the levels of TNF-αand BGP(P<0 .01);10 mg/kg Flu could decreased the osteoporosis rat′s serum levels of BGP .Conclu-sion Flu could increased the levels of E2 ,IGF-1 ,and decreased the levels of TNF-α,BGP in experimental osteoporosis rats .
3.Absorbability and bone-conductivity of nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen composite implanted under the calvarial periosteum

Objective:To study the bone-conductivity and absorbability of nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen(nHAC) composite implanted under the calvarial periosteum in rabbits.Methods:24 nHAC samples and 24 HA samples were prepaired in the shape of round disk with the diameter of 8 mm and thickness of 3 mm.nHAC samples were implanted under calvarial periosteum on the left side and HA samples on the right of 24 rabbits.The bone-conductivity and absorbability of the samples were examined by new bone height measuring and residual implant materia measuring 2,4,8 and 12 weeks after operation. 4.Long term clinical outcome of cataract patients with Toric intraocular lens implantation

Background Epidemiological investigation showed that 15%-29% of patients with cataract have preexisting astigmatism of > 1.50 D.So to control astigmatism is very important to the improvement of visual function after cataract surgery.The implantation of Toric intraocular lens (IOL) is a new option for the correction of preexisting astigmatism during cataract surgery,now.Short-term clinical studies of cataract patients with AcrySof Toric IOL implantation have revealed a good stability.However,the evaluation of long-term clinical result is seldom.Objective This study was to evaluate the long-term clinical results of Toric intraocular lens(IOL) implantation.Methods A serial case-observational study was designed.One hundred and twenty eyes of 78 cataract patients were included in this study.Phacoemulsification combined with AcrySof Toric IOL implantation was performed and the patients received a 2-year follow-up.Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCDVA),best corrected distance visual acuity(BCDVA),residual cylinder,IOL rotation,vector analysis and accuracy of astigmatic correction were clinically evaluated in 1 day,1 month,3 months,6 months,1 year and 2 years,respectively.Comparison of these results of different follow-up periods were made.Results Sixty-seven patients (101 eyes)finished the follow-up and 19patients(19 eyes)lost visit due to other diseases affected.At 2 years visit after AcrySof SN60TT implantation,UCDVA,BCDVA,residual cylinder,absolute value of IOL rotation degree,vector magnitude of surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) was 0.16 (0.20),0 (0.1),0.75 (0.5) D,(2.9± 1.8) °,(1.2 ± 0.6) D,and the correction index (CI)was 0.90±0.41.A positive correlation was found between SIA and TIA(r=0.74,P =0.000).Compared to 1 month,3,6 months and 1 year,there was a mild tendency of decrease in accuracy of astigmatism correction and CI.Residual cylinder and degree of IOL rotation at 2 years after surgery were also slightly higher.However these changes were not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusions After 2 years of follow-up,patients with AcrySof Toric implantation remain good visual acuity.AcrySof Toric IOL presents excellent long-term rotational stability and accuracy of astigmatism correction.
5.Study on fingerprint chromatograms of extract of cimicifugae rhizoma.

OBJECTIVETo establish the fingerprint chromatograms of the extract of Cimicifugae Rhizoma firstly.
METHODPhenolic acids and triterpenoid saponins were analyzed by HPLC. Hypersil BDS C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) column was used, the mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile -0.1% H3PO4 with gradient elution, flow rate was 1.0 mL x min(-1), column temprature was 30 degrees C, and the detection wavelength was set at 316 nm and 210 nm.
RESULTIn the fingerprint of phenolic acids, thirteen feature peaks were found and the RSD of relative retention time and relative peak area were all less than 3% in the precision and repeation experiments. The similarity of ten batches of samples were all more than 0.90. In the fingerprint of triterpenoid saponins, fourteen feature peaks were found and the RSD of relative retention time and relative peak area were all less than 4% in the precision and repeation experiments. The similarity of ten batches of samples were all more than 0.90.
CONCLUSIONThis method is comprehensive, stable, reliable and can be used to evaluate the quality of the extract of Cimicifugae Rhizoma. It has provided a reference to the analysis on pharmacodynamic deferences of Cimicifuga extracts and also laid the foundation for its further development.

6.Retrospective analysis of maxillary sinus augmentation for endosseous implants.

OBJECTIVETo determine the long-term clinical outcome and predictability of the maxillary sinus augmentation procedure.
METHODSSeventy-four patients underwent 100 sinus bone graft procedure and 206 implants were placed. The patients were followed up for 1-9 years, with an average of 3.46 +/- 1.65 years after implant placement.
RESULTSThe 5-year cumulative survival rate (CSR) of implants was 92.28%. Only 8 implants failed and no sinusitis occurred.
CONCLUSIONSSinus bone graft is an adjunctive procedure with a predictable outcome in patients with severely atrophied posterior maxilla.

AIM: To study the relationship between Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cpn) and spontaneous brain bleeding. METHODS: The IgG and IgM antibody titers to Cpn in peripheral blood from 9 patients of spontaneous brain bleeding were detected by microimmunofluorescence antibody technique (MIF). The Cpn DNA of arteries in brain bleeding region from these cases was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The Cpn major outer membrane protein (MOMP) expression of arteries in brain bleeding region from these cases were tested by Western blot. 8.Work engagement and its influencing factors in emergency nurses

Objective To investigate the current status and influencing factors of work engagement in emergency nurses, put forward a feasible strategy, improve the emergency department nurses work engagement for the emergency department to build effective human resource management to provide the reference. Methods A total 226 emergency nurses from 8 hospital of first-class in Tianjin city were recruited by the convenience sampling method and investigated with a self designed, the Medical Personnel′s Work Engagement Questionnaire. Results The total score of Medical Personnel′s Work Engagement Questionnaire was 111-166(137.32 ± 12.48) points and the scores were the highest in interpersonal concordance (4.20 ± 0.46) points and the lowest in work vigor (3.01 ± 0.61) points. Variance analysis and multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender, employment category and number of years as an emergency nurses were the influencing factors of work engagement, which could explain 51.3%of the variance. Conclusions Work engagement emergency of nurses is at a relatively moderate-to-high level, through establishing an effective incentive mechanism, increasing social benefits, accelerating the construction of emergency specialist nurse training system and paying attention to occupational development, work engagement level and quality of emergency medical care can be improved.
9.Observation on therapeutic effect of opposing needling for treatment of poststroke shoulder-hand syndrome.

OBJECTIVETo compare the therapeutic effects of opposing needling and routine acupuncture for treatment of poststroke shoulder-hand syndrome.
METHODSSixty cases were randomly divided into an opposing needling group and a routine acupuncture group, 30 cases in each group. In the two groups, Jianyu (LI 15), Jianliao (TE 14), Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), etc. were selected, with on the healthy side selected for the opposing needling group and on the affected side selected for the routine acupuncture group. The motor function of the affected limb was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer scale, activity of daily living by ADL scale, and pain by VAS, and the edema degree was investigated before and after treatment.
RESULTSThere were significant differences before treatment and after 2 therapeutic courses in the scores of Fugl-Meyer for the upper limb motor function and the ADL score for activity of daily living (both P<0.05), with the opposing needling group being significantly better than the routine acupuncture group (P<0.05); after treatment, both the edema degree and the pain scores significantly decreased (both P<0.05), with the opposing needling group in improvement of the edema degree being better the routine acupuncture group (P<0.05), and with no significant difference between the two groups in improvement of pain (P>0.05); the total effective rate was 93.3% in the opposing needling group and 90.0% in the routine acupuncture group with a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe clinical therapeutic effect of the opposing needling is better than that of routine acupuncture therapy for treatment of poststroke shoulder hand syndrome.

10.Study on the effects of calcium alginate column scaffold combination with calcium alginate gel for repairing articular cartilage defects of rabbit's knee joint.

OBJECTIVETo repair cartilage defects at non-weight-bearing area of the femoral condyle in rabbits with invitro amplified cartilage cell using calcium alginate column scaffold combined with calcium alginate gel injection, and to study repair effects of combination with different form of the same material.
METHODSTwenty-four New Zealand rabbits were divided into 4 groups randomly. The wounds of rabbits in the Group 1 were repaired with injection of calcium alginate gel; the wounds of rabbits in the Group 2 were repaired with in planting of calcium alginate column scaffold; the wounds of rabbits in the Group 3 were repaired with in planting of calcium alginate column supporter firstly, and then injection of calcium alginate gel at the surrounding; and Group 4 is control group, the rabbits in the group were repair and without any support. The repair effects were demonstrated with Xij, and the effects of all animals were studied with statistical analysis.
RESULTSThe Xij scores of each rabbits were calculated, and the scores in four groups were compared. The statistical results showed that combination therapy was better than other methods (F = 69.0, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe calcium alginate with column shape has better shaping effects and certain mechanical strength. The calcium alginate gel has better stick nature and can be used to integrate artifical material with normal structure. They can be used together, which meeting the desire of repair and integration in cartilaginous tissue engineering.
