The abnormal accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) in liver is the main feature of hepatic fibrosis, and collagen is the most important component in ECM.Collagen plays an important role in the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis. Therefore,to find traditional Chinese medicine with significant effect on collagen metabolism has become a critical approach for the treatment of hepatic fibrosis. This review summarized the role of collagen metabolism in liver fibrosis, and the research progress in traditional Chinese medicines with anti-hepatic fibrosis effect by regulating collagen metabolism was explored as well.

Objective To explore the technique and clinical effect of Fogarty catheter in treatment of acute limb arterial embol-ism.Methods Eight cases of acute limb arterial embolism treated by Fogarty catheter were analyzed retrospectively. The technique of thrombectomy, curative effect, complications, prognosis, and 6-24 months follow-up results were assessed to evaluate the safe-ty,effectiveness and operative skills. Results Seven cases were cured, and 1 case was efficacious. The endangium injury and vaso-spasm was occurred in 1 case, respectively.During follow-up from 6 to 24 months,6 cases recovered activity,1 case was hemiplegia because of cerebral infarction after 12 months, and 1 case died of respiratory function failure after 6 months. Conclusion Fogarty catheter is safe and effective in treatment of acute limb arterial embolism.

BACKGROUND:Studies addressing reconstruction of tooth tissue engineering have shown that tooth structure can be constructed using tissue engineering technology. Tooth root and its periodontal attachment are critical for tooth survival and functions, based on which, whether we can target root tissues with simple structure for tissue engineering construction by bypassing a complex dental tissue engineering concept with the structural integrity?
OBJECTIVE:To construct a tissue-engineered dental root by seeding dental papil a cells, as seed cells, into poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/sodium alginate hydrogel.
METHODS:Rabbit dental papil a cells were isolated and cultured. The cells were then mixed with 1%sodium alginate hydrogel at a final density of 6×109/L. The cellsuspension was seeded into a poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) scaffold with predetermined shape of human tooth and solidified with calcium chloride. Final y, the cel-scaffold composites were subcutaneously implanted into the back of nude mice. The specimens were harvested after 4 and 8 weeks respectively and processed for gross inspection, X-ray and CT examination and histological observation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The newly formed tissue kept the original shape of human dental root 4 and 8 weeks post-implantation. After 4 weeks of implantation, the specimen density was low;the root implants appeared to be incompletely mineralized, alginate hydrogels were degraded, but the copolymer scaffold was not degraded;a number of dentin-like structure appeared, and a fibrous membrane structure was visible on the surface of specimens paral el to the root surface, but the structure was not continuous, and no pulp cavity formed. After 8 weeks, the newly formed tissue was highly mineralized close to root tissue of the nature tooth;the copolymer scaffold was mostly degraded;specimens appeared to have a large number of mature dentin-like structure, and form continuous fibers membrane on the surface paral el to the root surface, below which, cementum-like structure formed. Artificial dental root with biological y similar structures of human dental roots can be constructed using the method of tissue engineering.

Objective To study the value of CT and barium radiograpy in diagnosis of gastric schwannoma. Methods A retrospectiveanalysis was made on imaging of 8 patients with pathologically approved gastric schwannoma.Plain abdominal CT scan was performed in all patients, additional enhanced CT scan was carried out in 6 cases and barium radiography of upper digestive tract was carried out in 5 cases. Results The lesions localized in fundus ventriculi in 2 cases, curvatura ventriculi minor in 4 cases and pars pylorica in 2 cases. Three main types were seen: localized mass type (n=4), localized thickening of gastric paries type (n=2) and huge mass type (n=2).Conclusion In comparison with barium radiography of upper digestive tract, CT can accurately demonstrate the shape, the location and internal structure of lesions.Three main patterns of this lesion also can be showed clearly by CT scans and suggestive diagnosis can be made in some patients combined with barium radiography of upper digestive tract images.

Objective To explore the related factors with skin flap necrosis,we concluded the cases of patients with skin defects after free flap plantation. Methods From 2001 to 2016,188 cases about 20 influencing factors were analyzed (The characteristics of patients:age, sex, smoke, diabetes, high blood pressure;Preoperative factors:injured sections, injured causes, preoperative wound infection, preoperative wound osteomyelitis, the time from injury to operation;Intraoperative factors:operator, operation time, anesthesia time, intraoperative rehydration fluids, the way of vascular anastomosis, the number of venous anastomosis, the area of flap;Postoperative factors:flap hematoma, flap infection, vascular crisis) and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between these risk factors and flap necrosis. Results All 188 cases were treated with free anterolateral thigh flap to repair soft tissue defect and it was revealed that the 174 cases were successful (92.55%) and 23 cases were occured vascular crisis (12.23%),8 cases were arterial crisis,11 cases were vein crisis,4 cases were ateriovenous crisis. After the treatment, the rescue was successful in 5 cases (38.46%).After the analysis we made the conclusion that the number of venous anastomoses, flap hematoma and vascular crisis were related with the skin flap necrosis. Conclusion The number of venous anastomose (≥2) will increase blood return to make the flap easier to survive.Intraoperative stanching and drainage tube placement work will reduce the skin flap hematoma as a result of reducing the skin flap necrosis.Artery and venous crisis handled in time, can enhance the survival rate of flap.

Objective To figure out and verify infiltration related miRNAs in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BUC). Methods Fresh tissues (20 samples,12 were infiltrative BUC samples,8 were non-infiltrative BUC samples) were collected in liquid nitrogen. The total RNA was extracted by using Trizol reagents.RNA quality control; miRNA microarray hybridization; data analysis.Another 22 samples were collected in fresh (15 were infiltrative BUC samples,7 were non-infiltrative BUC samples) for verifying purpose.4 types of bladder cancer cell lines were used for the study.BUC cell strain; total RNA was extracted by Trizol reagents; RNA quality control; RT-PCR and analysis of the data. Results ①In infiltrative BUC group, compared with non-infiltrative BUC group, there were 7 differentially expressed miRNAs:hsa-miR29c,hsa-miR-200a,hsa-miR-378,hsa-miR-429,hsa-miR-200c and hsa-miR-141 were up-regulated; hsamiR-451 was down-regulated.②In collected samples, the result of RT-PCR was consistent with miRNA array.③In bladder cancer cell lines, only the results of T24 were consistent with miRNA array. Conclusion Infiltration of BUC might relate with different expression of miRNAs.
