[Objective]To evaluate a simple, safty and effective therapeutic option to treate subaxial cervical fracture-dislocation with locked-facet.[Method]With the patients being awake and supervized under X-ray fluoroscopy, the authors used the early and continued closed skull traction-reduction to treate 16 cases of traumatic subaxial cervical fracture-dislocation with locked-facet.Before the beginning of the treatment, all the patients were taken for X-ray plain films and MRI/CT examinations as well as American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA) neurological function grade. The dynamic ASIA neurological function scale and X-ray fluoroscopy examnations were asked during the skull traction–reduction procedures. The average interval from the traumatic events to begin to skull traction–reduction was 31 hours(6-52 hours). The authors would continue the skull traction to maintain the anatomy position as soon as they succeeded in reducing the dislocation with locked-facet,forthmore they would take the anterior operation or combinations with anterior and posterior operations during the best condition.[Result]The MRI scans showed that there were 8 disc hernations and 5 disc disruptions at the dislocation levels before traction–reduction procedures. The ASIA scale were 7 grade C,5 grade D and 4 grade E,respectively. All the 16 cases succeeded in reduction as well as no neurological deterioration occurred. The postreduction MRI scans showed that 2 disc herations had converted to nearly normal disc position and another 4 disc hernations remained unchanged.Accordingly,2 disc disruption remained unchanged and another case had converted to disc hernation. The average traction weight was 19 kg(10~32 kg) and average traction time was 53 minutes(30~135 minutes).[Conclusion]Under the intensive dynamic ASIA neurological function grade and X-Ray fluoroscopy examnations, with the patients being awake and co-operation,the early and continued closed skull traction-reduction and then performing elective anterior or anterior-posterior surgery depending on the patient's overall and local status to treate subaxial cervical fracture-dislocation with locked-facet is safe and effective.

Objective The studies on tissue culture and cytological observations of leaf explants of Curculigo orchioides were conducted in order to provide the basis for the rapid propagation of C. orchioides. Methods Young leaf explants of C. orchioides were cultured on MS basal media. Differences in the callus induction and plantlet regeneration rate were observed by different light treatment as well as chemical factors like different phytohormones, casein hydrolysate (CH), and activated charcoal (AC) concentrations. Paraffin method was used to cytological observation. Results For callus induction of leaf explants of C. orchioides, dark treatment gave better results compared to light treatment; among the media tested, the suitable phytohormone combinations were 2.0 mg/L 2, 4-D or 6-BA 1.5 mg/L+2, 4-D 2.5 mg/L, and 300 mg/L CH+0.2% AC was good for plantlet regeneration from leaf explants. The callus from leaf explants mainly originated from midrib. The parenchyma cells near epicuticle of midrib firstly were initiated to division. Then the parenchyma cells of vascular bundle sheath and mesophyll cells on each side of vascular bundle were also divided to form callus. The buds developed on the peripheral parts of the calli, but the roots developed in the regions deep within the calli. Conclusion Tissue culture of young leaf explants of C. orchioides can make the propagation of C. orchioides rapid.

Objective To analyze the methylation status and protein expression of Ras association domain family- 1A (RASSF1A) in endometriosis (EMS). Methods The ectopic and corresponding eutopic endometrium tissues were collected from 45 women with EMS and normal endometrium tissues of 20 women without EMS. The methylation status of RASSF1A was examined by methylation specific PCR (MSP). Immunohistochemistry was performed to measure the level of RASSF1A in endometrium tissues. Results The RASSF1A protein expression rate in ectopic endometrium, eutopic endometrium, and normal endometrium was 37.78%(17/45), 60.00%(27/45) and 85.00%(17/20), and there was significant difference (χ2 = 13.136, P = 0.001). The frequency of aberrant methylation of RASSF1A was 55.56%(25/45), 33.33%(15/45) and 0 in ectopic endometrium , eutopic endometrium, and normal endometrium, and there was significant difference (χ2 =18.770, P = 0.000). The frequency of aberrant methylation of RASSF1A had no significant differnce throughout the menstrual cycle in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium: 66.67%(14/21) vs. 45.83%(11/24), 38.10%(8/21) vs. 29.17%(7/24), P>0.05. In ectopic endometrium, the frequency of aberrant methylation of RASSF1A inⅢ-Ⅲstage was significantly higher than that in Ⅰ-Ⅱstage (χ2=5.940, P=0.015). In ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium, the RASSF1A protein expression had negative correlation with aberrant methylation of RASSF1A (r =- 0.594、- 0.577, P<0.01). Conclusions Epigenetic inactivation of RASSF1A through aberrant promoter methylation may be strongly correlated with the formation and progression of EMS, and assessment of RASSF1A methylation status in eutopic endometrium may be a potentially useful biomarker to enhance the early detection of EMS.

Methods:
College students were sampled from full-time colleges and universities in Guiyang City using a multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method from March to May in 2022. Students' knowledge, attitude and practice on e-cigarette use were collected using a questionnaire designed based on the 2019 China National Youth Tobacco Survey Questionnaire, and factors affecting the attempt to use e-cigarette were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results :
Totally 2 800 questionnaires were recovered, including 2 694 valid questionnaires, with an effective recovery rate of 96.21%. The respondents included 687 males (25.50%) and 2 007 females (74.50%). The total score of knowledge on e-cigarette use was (2.95±1.02) points, and there were low proportions of knowing that e-cigarettes contained hazardous substances, including nicotine and tar (59.06%) and knowing that e-cigarette use may cause diseases (53.27%). The total score of attitudes towards e-cigarette use was (5.09±2.36) points, and 93.50% of respondents did not use e-cigarettes given by companions. There were 132 students with attempts to use e-cigarettes (4.90%), and there were 29 current e-cigarette users (1.08%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified age of 20 years and lower (OR=0.438, 95%CI: 0.267-0.719), living in rural areas (OR=0.458, 95%CI: 0.264-0.794), thinking that e-cigarettes are addictive (OR=0.449, 95%CI: 0.217-0.928), and thinking that e-cigarette smoking is harmful (OR=0.263, 95%CI: 0.131-0.527) as factors protecting from e-cigarette use, and monthly living expenses of more than 2 000 Yuan (OR=2.995, 95%CI: 1.135-7.902), cigarette smoking (OR=19.826, 95%CI: 11.385-34.527), and using companions' e-cigarettes (OR=9.141, 95%CI: 5.534-15.101) and thinking that people around me support my use of e-cigarettes (OR=2.673, 95%CI: 1.426-5.013) were risk factors for e-cigarette use among college students.
Conclusions
There is a low awareness rate of e-cigarette use among college students in Guiyang City, and the majority oppose e-cigarette use, with a low proportion of attempt to use e-cigarettes. Age, source of students, monthly living expenses, e-cigarette smoking, knowledge on e-cigarette use and use of companions' e-cigarettes may affect the attempt to use e-cigarettes.

Objective In our previous study, we had generated various zebrafish mutant lines with tissue?specific GFP expression by Tol2 transposon?mediated insertional mutagenesis. Among these mutants, the Tol2:20141221t line ex?presses GFP in nervous system, while the position within zebrafish genome where transposon inserted has not yet been iden?tified. The aim of this study was to identify and analyze this genetically modified mutant. Methods The transgenic inser?tion loci in the genome of Tol2:20141221t line was identified byTAIL?PCR and the spatial and temporal expression profile of the affected gene was examined by in situ hybridization. Homozygous mutant of Tol2:20141221t was generated for explo?ring related developmental defects. Results Tol2 transposon was inserted into the 8th intron region of sat1.a gene, and in?duced premature transcription termination. The maternal and zygotic mutants of Tol2:20141221t was generated, while with?out apparent developmental defects. Conclusions We have generated and identified the zebrafishsat1.a mutant mediated by Tol2 transposon. This gene insertion mutant exhibits no obvious developmental abnormalities, but may serve as a power?ful tool to study the development of nervous system.

Objective To discuss the presentations, pathologic features, diagnosis and treatment of primary synovial sarcoma of the kidney. Methods One case of primary synovial sarcoma of the kidney was reported and the relevant literature was reviewed. A 55-year-old man was admitted with complaint of right abdomen and flank pain for 5 h. Computerized tomography revealed a 12.5 cm × 11.0 cm × 9. 0 cm mass located at the middle and lower pole of the right kidney. The patient was taken radical nephrectomy. Results The diagnosis of primary synovial sarcoma of the kidney in the patient was confirmed by postoperative pathology. Under microscope, tumor was typically mitotically active, monomorphic spindle cells growing in intersecting fascicles or in solid sheets with epithelial differentiation. In some areas a haemangiopericytoma-like pattern was found. Immunohistochemical staining showed that the tumor cells were positive for the markers Vimentin, CD99 and Bcl-2, but CK was negative. The patient died of local recurrence and multi-metastasis at 8 months after surgery. Conclusions Primary synovial sarcoma of the kidney is extremely rare with a high grade of malignancy, and its prognosis is poor. The diagnosis depends on pathological features, Immunohistochemical studies and RT-PCR detection. Radical resection combined with chemicaltherapy is considered to be the most reliable treatment so far.
