Abstract? AIM: To investigate changes of anterior chamber parameters after posterior chamber phakic implantable collamer lens ( ICL ) surgery and its correlation with intraocular pressure ( IOP) .?METHODS: This was a retrospective case series study. Seventy four eyes in 43 myopia patients were examined by Allegro Oculyzer anterior segment tomography to obtain the changes of anterior chamber volume ( ACV ) , anterior chamber angle ( ACA) , central anterior chamber depth ( ACD) and vault, meanwhile, to measure the IOP to analyze the correlation with anterior chamber parameters.?RESULTS: Compared with preoperative, ACV, ACA, ACD all decreased apparently ( P <0.01 ) in the postoperative period of 1, 3, and 6mo.ACV, ACA and ACD showed their stability in each period after the surgery.There were changes of vault in 1 and 6mo ( t=27.66, P=0.01).IOP had not altered when compared with the preoperative.This research revealed that IOP had no relation with ACV, ACA, ACD and vault in every phase( all P>0.05).?CONCLUSION:For patients underwent ICL, the anterior chamber parameters all decreased which included ACV, ACA, ACD, and had stabilized since early postoperative period. Correspondingly, IOP was stable and had not correlate with ACV, ACA, ACD and vault, however the long-term observation is still necessary.

AnewmethodwasdevelopedforfastdeterminationofAlresidueinpolyetherketoneketone ( PEKK) special polymer material by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry ( GF-AAS) . Instead of high temperature ashing, sample was dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid and diluted by tetrahydrofuran, then was directly analyzed by GF-AAS. Systematical investigation was made on sample preparation, it was found that for 0. 2 g of sample weight, a clear sample solution could be obtained by heating at 220 ℃ with 2 mL of concentrated H2 SO4 for 4 min, and the obtained solution was ready for the subsequent mixing with tetrahydrofuran for sample dilution or dispersion before analysis. Redesign of the GF-AAS temperature program was also made, on the basis of the recommended program a pre-ashing step was added, which greatly helped increasing the analytical precision when the temperature was set at 400 ℃ and the total time was set at 40 s. The detection limits ( 3σ) were 38. 5 ng/g, the RSD for six parallel determinations of real samples was 2. 2%, and the recoveries for spiked tests were 99%-105%, respectively. In comparison with the traditional high-temperature ashing technique, the established method was more concise, faster and less exposed to contamination during sample preparation.

Objective To investigate the relationship between traditional Chinese medical differentiation and immunity by observing the immunity of different types of lichen planus(OLP) patients and to proffer a new way of thinking on how to clinically identify the immune state of the patients.Methods Seventy cases of OLP patients were included,who were grouped into the type of accumulated heat of both heart and spleen,the type of hyperactivity of liver-fire,the type of flaring up of deficient fire and the type of deficiency of both qi and blood respectively.All patients received immune-examination,and the data were statistically analyzed.Results In OLP patients the type of flaring up of deficient fire accounted for the majority[53％ (37/70) ].The peripheral blood cells of the OLP patients generally expressed less CD-3 and CD-4 than normal[76％ (53/70) and 63％ (44/70) of the normal respectively,P ＜ 0.05 ].CD-3 (55.44 ± 5.57 ) and CD-8 ( 15.60 ± 3.93 ) were remarkably lower in the group of accumulated heat of both heart and spleen whereas CD-4/CD-8 (2.40 ± 0.69) and IgM (2279.33 ±729.23) went up.CD-4(30.52 ±7.50) in the group of flaring up of deficient fire decreased notably,and IgA (2608.7 ± 728.59) went up ( P ＜ 0.05).CD-3 (56.10 ± 3.24 ) in the group of deficiency of qi and blood went down remarkably.Conclusions The overall immune state of the OLP patients shows that the cell immunity is primarily out of order.The immune states of the OLP patients in different traditional Chinese medical types remain to a certain extent different.

Objective To investigate the effect of parathyroid hormone (PTH) on the transition and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) expression of human renal proximal tubular epithelial cell line HK-2 . Methods The expression of CTGF mRNA and protein of HK-2 cells were measured by real time RT-PCR and Western blot respectively . The effect of PTH on the phenotypic transformation of HK-2 cells was examined by light microscopy . The expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in HK-2 cells was detected by immunofluorescence . Results Basal level of CTGF mRNA and the protein expression were detected in HK-2 ceils . PTH upregulated the expression of CTGF mRNA and protein with the maximal response at the concentration of 10-10 mol/L and the best stimulating time was at 72 h . After exposure to PTH (10-10tool/L) for 12 hours, the highest level of luciferase activity was 1 .96 fold as compared to control (1 .888±0 .078 vs 0 .989±0 .030, P＜0 .01 ) . Untreated cells showed negligible expression of ±-SMA,whereas ±-SMA expression was significantly increased in cells treated with PTH . Conclusion PTH up-regulates CTGF expression and induces transition of HK-2 cells .

AIM:To study the influence of angiotensin Ⅱ(AngⅡ) on ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 in THP-1 derived foam cells.The variance of the expression of ABCA1,the content and the effluent rate of cholesterol were also investigated.METHODS: The regulatory effect of AngⅡ on the expression of ABCA1 mRNA and protein in THP-1 derived form cells were measured by RT-PCR and Western blotting.The effect of variance of cholesterol content was measured by zymochemistry via-fluorospectrophotometer,cholesterol effluent was measured by liquid scintillator.RESULTS: A positive facilitative effect of Ang Ⅱon form cells was observed.Total cholesterol content were increased significantly by Ang Ⅱ treatment(P

The brown slime inside pipeline of the polluted mineral waters well was analyzed. It was confirmed that the brown slime was a biofilm formed mainly by growth of bacteria contaminant, using microscope analysis. After treated with HCl, the brown crystals and mycelioid matter presented in slimes disappeared. It was verified these were metal deposits. The samples produced Prussia blue deposits by dropping K 4Fe(CN) 6 and HCl, which proved that the metal deposits were iron compound. Also it was believed the biofilm was produced by growth of iron bacteria, mixed with deposits of iron compound. The iron bacteria have been isolated from the slimes and cultured in the laboratory. The colony on agar plate also produced Prussia blue deposits after treated with K 4Fe(CN) 6 and HCl. The cells form of pure culture was the same as that in the samples by electronmicroscope analysis. Therefore, It indicated that the bacteria on biofilm inside pipeline were iron bacteria mainly.

The purpose of this study is to explore depression metabolic markers in rat hippocampus and to investigate the anti-depressant effect of genipin and its mechanisms using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) metabonomics. Chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) procedure was conducted to establish the depressive rat model. At the beginning of the third week, genipin low dose (25 mg x kg(-1)), middle dose (50 mg x kg(-1)), high dose (100 mg x kg(-1)), and venlafaxine (50 mg x kg(-1)) were given to the CUMS rats separately once daily for two weeks except control and model groups. Rat hippocampus was analyzed by 1H NMR based metabonomics after drug administration for 2 weeks. Significant differences in the metabolic profile of rat hippocampus of the CUMS treated group and the control group were observed with metabolic effects of CUMS including decreasing in glycine and N-acetylaspartate, increasing in inositol, glutamate, lactate, glutamine, taurine and alanine. Genipin showed ideal antidepressive effects at a dose of 50 mg x kg(-1) in rats, decrease of inositol, glutamate, lactate, alanine were observed, while glycine and N-acetylaspartate were increased. Important influence has been found on normal nervous system function of these significant changed metabolites, which suggests that the antidepressant effect of genipin may be played by enhancing the activity of neurons in hippocampus, repairing and improving the function of the neuron. The metabonomics approach is an effective tool for the investigation of the anti-depressant effect and pharmacologic mechanisms of genipin.

AlM: To observe clinical effect of vitrectomy with intravitreal ranibizumab for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy ( DR) .
METHODS:From February 2011 to February 2013, there were 90 cases in our hospital diabetic retinopathy patients withvitrectomy surgery. lt was randomly divided into observation group ( 45 cases ) and control group ( 45 cases ) . Two groups of patients were performed vitrectomy. Patients in observation group were injected intravitreal ranibizumab before surgery, then vitrectomy was underwent for diabetic retinopathy. Vitrectomy was only underwent in control group.
RESULTS:The patients in observation group with good effect accounting for 71% (32/45) and good rate was 89%(40/45 ), which were significantly higher than that in control group 51% ( 23/45 ) , 71% ( 32/45 ) . Differences were statistically significant ( P < 0. 05 ). Amount of bleeding was 9. 64 ± 2. 27mL, intraocular pressure was 13. 64 ± 3. 27mmHg. lt was significantly less than that in control group 10. 21 ± 3. 14mL, 16. 00 ± 3. 14mmHg. Differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSlON: The vitrectomy with intravitreal ranibizumab treatment of diabetic retinopathy can not only reduce blood loss, but also reduce edema and improve effectiveness and safety. lt's worth recommending for clinical practice.

AIM:To explore relationship between the normal strehl ratio ( SR ) values of total aberrations/SR values of total higher-order aberrations and modulation transfer function ( MTF ) at total corneal at different pupil diameters in normal population.
METHODS: To exam the SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher-order aberrations of total corneals in 200 people ( 400 eyes ) using SIRIUS 3D topography system and analysis the corresponding root-mean-square ( RMS) .
RESULTS: The subjects with different pupil diameters (3. 0, 5. 0, 6. 0, 7. 0mm)'s exam results of total corneal were as following:SR value of total aberrations 100’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 25±0. 06), (0. 17±0. 05), (0. 13±0. 04); SR value of total higher order ab cerrations 100’(0. 69±0. 14), (0. 34±0. 07), (0. 24±0. 05), (0. 16±0. 04);SR value of total aberrations 200’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 24±0. 06), (0. 20±0. 04), (0. 16±0. 03); SR value of total higher order aberrations 200’(0.70±0. 13), (0. 35±0. 07), (0. 27±0. 06), (0. 20±0.04 ) . The SR values of each group decreases with the increases of pupil diameters. The SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneals are negatively correlated with corresponding RMS value. When the pupil diameter is small, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to higher frequency region of MTF. When the pupil diameter is big, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to lower frequency region of MTF.
CONCLUSION: The visual performance of normal people can be well reflected by SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneal.

Objective To evaluate the usefulness of free angle M-mode echocardiography (FAM) in obtaining tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) for assessing the fetal right ventricular function,and to compare the results of measurements of TAPSE by conventional M-mode(CM) and FAM.Methods Two hundred and forty-three normal fetuses in second and late trimester were divided into 5 groups by gestational age(GA):20-24 weeks,24+1-28 weeks,28+1-32 weeks,32+1-36 weeks,36+1-40 weeks.The TAPSE were measured by CM and FAM echocardiography,meanwhile multiple parameters for evaluating right ventricular function were obtained by using myocardial tissue Doppler imaging (TDI),and the correlation between TAPSE and other parameters were analyzed by linear correlation.ANOVA was used to compare CM-TAPSE,FAM-TAPSE,Em,Sm and right ventricular fractional shortening(RVFS)with different GA.Regression equation estimate was used to compare the relationship of FAM-TAPSE with GA.Independent sample t test was used to compare CM TAPSE with FAM TAPSE.Results There were significant differences in CM-TAPSE,FAM-TAPSE,Em,and Sm among 5 groups (P =0.000),the measured value of FAM-TAPSE was higher than that of CM TAPSE (P =0.000).Both FAM-TPASE and CM-TAPSE showed significant positive correlations with GA,Em and Sm,but FAM TAPSE demonstrated better correlation than CM-TAPSE.Conclusions By adjusting sample line of FAM,measuring the maximum displacement of tricuspid annular plane is feasible,and FAM may evaluate fetal right ventricular function more accurately and effectively.
