Objective To investigate HIV high risk population size estimation method,analyze the epidemic situation in China and offer scientific evidence for policy making. Methods Appropriate methods to estimate different type high risk populations were ascertained by experimental study. Results Size estimation methods and procedures for different type high risk population were formed.Epidemic estimation and parameters fit for China were ascertained.HIV epidemic situation and characteristics were stated. Conclusion Methods formed in the study are the key points for the understanding of number of PLWHA,for the exact judgment of HIV epidemic,for the improvement of inspection system and examination work,for the formation of "Four Free and One Care".
2.Effect of 5-lipoxygenase and 12-lipoxygenase on proliferation and apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cell

Objective To examine the expression of lipoxygenases (LOXs)on human pancreatic carcinoma and their effects on proliferation and apoptosis of human pancreatic carcinoma in vitro.Methods Expression of 5- LOX and 12-LOX in the tissue of human pancreatic carcinoma and pancreatic cancer cell line (SW1990) was detected by immunohistochemical staining and RT-PCR.To examine the effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids on pancreatic cancer cell line,the proliferation rate of SW1990 cells treated with arachidouic acid (AA),docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentenoic acid (EPA) was analyzed by MTT and the incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) methods.An annexinV/propidium iodide (PI) assay with flow cytometry and in situ terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-digoxigenin end labeling (TUNEL) assay were used to identify potential induction of apoptosis by the unsaturated fatty acids.The effects of 5-LOX inhibitor (MK-886) and 12-LOX inhibitor (baicalein) on the proliferation of SW1990 cells were determined by above methods.Results Both 5-LOX and 12-LOX were over expressed in the tissue of human pancreatic carcinoma and the pancreatic cancer cell line.AA had a stimulatory effect on the growth of SW1990 cells while EPA and DHA had an inhibitory effect in a dose-dependent manner.The apeptosis of SW1990 cells co-cultured with DHA or EPA lasting for 24 hours was increased markedly.Furthermore, both MK-886 and baicalein in a dose-dependent-manner inhibited the growth of SW1990 cells ard induced a significant increase of apoptotic cells rate.Conclusions Expression of lipoxygenase is up-regulated in human pancreatic cancer. Polyunsaturated fatty acids have regulatory effects on the growth of pancreatic carcinoma in vitro.AA stimulates proliferation of pancreatic cancer cell line,while DHA and EPA suppress proliferation,simultaneously inducing apoptosis of pancreatic cancer cell line.Blocking the functions of lipoxygenase with its inhibitor exerts a negative regulatory effect on the growth of pancreatic carcinoma in vitro.Lipoxygenase might be a novel therapeutic target for the pancreatic cancer.
3.AIDS Should not Become a Talisman-An Analysis on Crime of HIV Infectors/AIDS Patients

Some HIV infectors/AIDS patients make use of people′s horror of AIDS to commit crime,and law enforcement agencies are faced with a series of problems.Based on analyzing the reasons and harm of the issues,the article made some suggestions including cracking down on such crimes legally,strengthening multi-department coordination,unifying relative legal system and regulations,providing AIDS knowledge training for law enforcement agencies,establishing AIDS occupational exposure compensation mechanism,and improving the management modes for the AIDS criminals in jails.
4.Thyroxine effects on induced differentiation of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes

BACKGROUND:Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cels can be induced through the co-culture to differentiate into other cels, but how to get more seed cels for tissue engineering is one of the most difficult problems. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of the different concentrations of thyroxine in chondrogenic differentiation of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cels by co-culture with rabbit chondrocytes. METHODS:Human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cels were co-cultured with rabbit chondrocytes at 2:1, and stimulated by medium containing different concentrations of thyroxine (0, 0.01, 0.1 and 1, 10 μmol/L). Co-cultured cels with no thyroxine served as control group. After 14 days of co-culture, the cel RNA and protein were extracted, mRNA expressions of aggrecan and colagen type II were detected by real-time PCR, and protein expression of aggrecan and colagen type II were detected by western blot assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After intervention with 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10 μmol/L thyroxine, the mRNA and protein expressions of aggrecan and colagen type II were enhanced with the increase of thyroxine concentration, which were significantly different from those in the control group (P < 0.05). Experimental findings indicate that high levels of thyroxine can enhance the chondrogenic ability of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cels co-cultured with rabbit chondrocytes.
5.Chronic Pulmonary Complications Associated with Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Caused by Carbamazepine

Objective To explore the clinical manifestations of toxic epidermal necrolysis(TEN) and its rare pulmonary complications.Methods Clinical symptoms,treatment and prognosis of 1 child with TEN caused by carbamazepine were analyzed.Radiological images were reviewed to evaluate the manifestations and the outcome of chronic pulmonary complications associated with TEN.Results The patient had high fever shortly after a dosage increment of carbamazepine.A confluent erythematous exanthema developed rapidly into painful blistering with skin erosion,denudation and involvement of conjunctive and oropharyngeal mucosa.The diagnosis of TEN was made.The mucocutaneous damage was gradually recovered with steroid plus intravenous immunoglobulin for 3 weeks.However,the patient presented with respiratory failure in the recovery phase of TEN.The computer tomography revealed pulmonary bullae and pneumothorax in the right lung.Lung parenchyma was squeezed and pulmonary bullae ruptured with pneumothorax and atelectasis,which were absorbed gradually through thoracic drainages.The patient′s lung function and pulmonary bullae were partly improved during a 7-month follow-up.Conclusions TEN is a severe form of blistering skin di-sease which is characterized by an extensive loss of epidermis and mucous membrane.Chronic pulmonary complications may occur in recovery phase of TEN.Pulmonary bullae,which might be caused by mucous damage and respiratory obstruction,is a rare complication of TEN.
6.Abnormal percentage of memory B cells in tonsils and peripheral blood in clinical progression of IgA nephropathy

Objective: To observe an abnormal expression of humoral immune response induced by memory B cells in tonsils and peripheral blood of patients with IgA nephropathy ( IgAN) , the variation of memory B cells after tonsillectomy , and to discover the role of tonsillectomy in IgAN .Methods: In the study , 28 patients were diagnosed as IgAN via renal biopsy , and 27 patients suffering from chronic ton-sillitis without nephritis and 10 normal human beings were selected as controls .The expression of memory B cells in the tonsils and peripheral blood was tested by flow cytometry , and the same method was used to test the variation of the expression of memory B cells in peripheral blood of patients with IgAN after tonsil -lectomy.Results:In this study , higher percentages of memory B cells were observed in tonsil and pe-ripheral blood of IgAN patients, which were 5.72%±5.26%, 4.92%±5.10%.After tonsillectomy, the percentage of memory B cells was 1 .10%±0 .65%, lower than that before tonsillectomy ( P <0.05).Meanwhile, in tonsils and peripheral blood , the percentage of memory B cells varied with the variation of the urinary findings of the IgAN patients .Conclusion:The percentage of memory B cell in tonsils and peripheral blood could predict disease progression of IgAN to a certain extent .
7.Effect of complex prescription of Chinese medicine on ischemic brain of rat

ObjectiveTo study the protection of Chinese herbs on the ischemic brain of rats. Methods 75 Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups, Group 1 for false operation. For the other four groups, the common carotid artery was exposed then was ligatured and cut off, Group 2 for model. From the 20th hour after operation on,Group 3, 4, 5 were fed with complex prescription of Chinese medicine named Prescription 1, 2 and 3 once a day respectively. 3 hours after taking medicine, Groups 2-5 were put in the hypoxia environment for 1 hours, then taking the medicine for 7 days. On the 7th day after operation,the blood was taken from R. atria then the rats were killed and the whole right brains were cut off. Malonaldehyde (MDA), notric oxide synthetase (NOS) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the brain tissue and serum, and calcium in the brain were measured respectively. ResultsThe three prescriptions can decrease the quantity of MDA both in brain tissue and serum and the calcium in brain tissue(P<0.05-0.001).Prescription 1 can enhance the activity of SOD in brain tissue while the others can decrease the activity of NOS. The hippocampus cells show tidy, and the number of the necrotic cells decrease greatly among them, Groups 4 and 5 are better than Group 3.Conclusions Prescriptions 1-3 can protect the brain tissue of the rat form ischemic brain injury.
8.Study on protective effect of Sijunzi decoction (red/white ginseng) on H2O2-induced H9c2 cardiomyocytes apoptosis.

In this study, efforts were made to screen out the drug concentration of Sijunzi decoction (red ginseng) for in vitro intervention of H9c2 cardiomyocytes, select high, medium and low groups for subsequent experiments, establish the H2O2-induced myocardial cell apoptosis to investigate the protective effect of Sijunzi decoction (white/red ginseng), provide reference ginseng ingredients in Sijunzi decoction used to treat ischemic heart disease and reflect its curative effect, and observe its impacts on SOD, MAD, LDH and other indexes to preliminarily define the action mechanism. According to the results, red ginseng in Sijunzi decoction showed a better protective effect on H2O2-induced myocardial cell injury than that of white ginseng. Both of them could enhance SOD activity and reduce MDA production and LDH release, so as to significantly reduce the amount of apoptotic myocardial cells and play protective role.

10.A guide module for placement of posterior column lag screws in anterior-posterior column acetabular plate — design by three-dimensional models

Objective To report our self-designed guide module for placement of posterior column lag screws in anterior-posterior column acetabular plate using CT reconstruction data.Methods The CT scan data of 50 normal adult pelves were collected from February 2012 to April 2013,involving 30 males and 20 females with an average age of 46.4 years(range,from 25 to 69 years).The data were imported into Mimics 10.01 software for reconstruction of semi-pelvic models.Virtual cylindrical implants were placed intraosseously in both the left and the right posterior columns.The perpendicular distance (OP) from the insertion point O of the virtual cylindrical implant to the arcuate margin (P) and the distance (PI) from the point P to the point I,the crosspoint of the extension line of the ischial ramus and the arcuate margin were measured respectively.The angle (∠φ) between the direction of screws and the plane of guide module and the angle (∠θ) between the direction of screws and the long axis of guide module were also measured respectively.Results The average length of PI was 0.98 ± 0.13 cm,with 1.08 ± 0.22 cm in females and 0.95 ± 0.27 cm in males.The difference between genders was not statistically significant (P > 0.05).The average length of OP was 1.09 ± 0.26 cm,with 1.06 ± 0.29 cm in females and 1.12 ± 0.24 cm in males.The gender difference was not statistically significant either (P > 0.05).The mean value of ∠ φ was 55.43° ± 3.64°,with 55.33° ± 4.00° in females and 55.50° ±3.43° in males.The difference between genders was not statistically significant (P > 0.05).The ∠θ value in females was 39.21 ° ± 2.45° and 35.58° ± 2.31 ° in males.The gender difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusions In design of the guide module,the nail holes should be located about 1 cm away from both the posterior edge and the medial edge,the angle between the screw direction and the module plane should be approximately 39° in females and 35° in males,and the angle between the screw direction and the long axis of the module approximately 55°.
