1.Remarks on situation clinical and laboratory features of pemphigus at National institute of dermato - venereology in Viet Nam
Journal of Medical Research 2003;24(4):63-68
123 patients with pemphigus were studied in Vietnam Institute of Dermato-Venereology from 1995 to 2000. The prevalence of pemphigus accounts for 1.52% of total dermato - venereology disease. Pemphigus vulgaris was most common (68.10%), with the gender ratio of 2.3 female/1male. Average age was 42.36% 15.35%. The disease often developed in summer (64.26%). The lesions can occur either on the skin (55.28%) or on mucous membrane (44.72%) and flaccid blisters (86.99%). In diagnosis: Nicolsky sign(+) 56.41%, Tzanck cells 92.68%.

Among 13 patients with pemphigus : 8 of pemphigus vulgaris(PV), 4 of pemphigus foliaceus(PF), l of pemphigus erythematosus(PE), we have examined the sites of early lesions and the clinical appearances of the skin lesions. The most common site of the early lesions in PV was the oral mucosa, however, in PF and PE the face was affected first. The clinical appearances of the early lesions were flaccid bullae, erythematous papules and eczematoid patches. Clinicians should be aware of these clinical features of pemphigus for a more precise diagnosis and better management.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1984;22(6):635-638
This report presents a case of a 17-year-old-girl who developed a, Kaposis varicelliforrn eruption(eczema herpeticum) during oral prednisolone therapy in order to control pemphigus foliaceus. Diagnosis was made by the history, clinical feature and histologic examination. Within 24 hours after the initiation of therapy with ribavirin(Viramid), new lesions had ceased to develop.

Pemphigua foliaceus is a rare, relatively mild and chronic variety of pemphigus which is characterized by superficial flaccid bullae which show acantholytic changes in the upper part of the epidermis histopathologically. We report herein five cases of pemphigus foliaceus. The patients had erythematous and crusted patches chiefly on face, chest and back areas, except for case 2 who had flaccid bullae on the upper extrimities. The diagnosis of all these patients were confirmed by immunofluorescence studies. Among these five patients, one was recognized as a rifampicin induced pemphigus foliaceus, and the other one revealed concurrent lesions of psoriasis.

Drug-induced pemphigus (DIP) is a special type of pemphigus, and its pathogenesis, characteristics of treatment, and prognosis are closely related to the inducing drugs. This article reports the diagnosis and treatment of DIP (pemphigus vulgaris) caused by the administration of rifampin to a patient with tuberculosis. Combined with the literature, we discussed the types, pathogenesis, differential diagnosis, and treatment principles of DIP. We propose that in the oral clinical practice for patients with pemphigus vulgaris, the importance of investigating suspected drugs that induce DIP should be emphasized.

9.Five Cases of Autoimmune Bullous Disease Presenting Localized Facial Lesions.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1995;33(1):114-119
We describe five patiens with autoimmune bullous der matosis who presented cutaneous lesions localized on the face. In these patients iuumunopathologically confirmed diagnoses were penphigus erythematosus, bullous pemphigoid, cicatricial pernphigoid(Brunsting-Perry variant), epidemic lysis bullosa acquisita and bullous systemic lupus erythematosus in each. Except, for the case of pemphigus erythematosus, facelimited cutnious lesions can be seen rarely with these imrnunobullous diseases. We suggest that some external, in malfactors such as UV light and photosensitivity might be regarded as the precipitating factors fo the clinical rnanifestations of those skin lesions, and which should be included in the differential diingosis of vesiculobullous diseases involving the face.

This 51 years old Korean house wife has been suffered from bullous and erosive eruptions on the abdomen, back, both thigh and legs, duration of three days with sudden onset Prior to admission she has had a erosion on the oral mucosa for one year. The diagnosis of pemphigus vulgaris was confirmed by histopathology and immunoelectrophoresis. This patient was improved with treatment of prednisolone bu Lever's "Logarithmic fashion" and used the maintenance dose of prednisolone without recurrence.
