Objective:To formulate the norm value of auditory verbal learning test(AVLT)in the normal aged in Chinese community.Methods:360 normal old people(55 to 85 years)in city proper of Shanghai were enrolled and evaluated by AVLT,MMSE test of words reading ability and executive ablity, memory self-evaluation and medical history related to cognitive impairment.Results:70% of the normal old people complained of hypomnesia; The age of 70 and 80 was the hinge points of auditory verbal memory decreasing.AVLT had a moderate relation to age,and a lower relation to educational level.Female did better in AVLT than Male.Furthermore,AVLT had a significant relation to MMSE score,a mild relation to memory self-evaluation,and only related to hypertension of all the medical history. The cut off score of short-term recall, long delayed term recall and total AVLT score(-1SD,-1.5SD and-2SD)was listed. Conclusion:Norm value of AVLT is an effective tool of testing memory impairment.
3.Efficacy and safety of Qianggu capsule versus calcium related drugs for patients with osteoporosis: a systematic review
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2018;40(5):418-422
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Qianggu capsule and calcium drugs for osteoporosis and to provide reference to choose drug for patients with osteoporosis in clinic. Methods Databases including PubMed, Embase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, WanFang Data, VIP and SinoMed were searched to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of Qianggu capsule and calcium supplements for osteoporosis from inception to the 31th of January 2017. Two reviewers independently screened literature, extracted data and evaluated the risk of bias of included studies. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results A total of 8 RCTs were included, which involved 594 patients. The results of meta-analysis showed that the effective rate of the Qianggu capsule group was significantly superior to that of the calcium group [RR (95% CI) was 1.14 (1.06-1.24)]. The bone mineral density (BMD) at lumbar vertebra and femoral intertrochanter of the Qianggu capsule group were statistically higher than those of the calcium group after three months'treatment [MD (95% CI):0.10 (0.08-0.12), 0.09 (0.06-0.12)]. The bone mineral density (BMD) at lumbar vertebra, femoral neck, ward triangle and femoral intertrochanter of the Qianggu capsule group were statistically higher than those of the calcium group after six months' treatment [SMD (95% CI): 0.26 (0.03-0.49), 0.56 (0.32-0.80), 0.64 (0.38-0.91); MD (95% CI): 0.03 (0.02-0.04)]. The incidence of adverse events of the Qianggu capsule group was statistically higher than that of the calcium group [OR (95% CI) was 2.03 (1.08-3.82)]. Conclusions Comparing to the calcium related drugs, the Qianggu capsule showed a better effect, and could effectively increase the bone mineral density, but the adverse events should be surveillanced.

We developed large-scale preparation of phycoerythrin from Porphyra haitanensis, a main economic red algae in China. Firstly, P. haitanensis thallus was broken by using "swelling and smash" method. Then times of grads ammonium sulfate precipitation applied to the crude extraction were compared. Desalted solution was further purified with one-step chromatography using hydroxyapatite and properties on spectrum and molecular weight were identified finally. The results indicated that after four times of ammonium sulfate precipitation (15%, 50%, 10% and 40%), the absorption spectrum purity of P. haitanensis achieved 0.9 (A564/A280), and 507.82 mg phycoerythrin (A564/A280 > 3.2) was obtained from 7 kg fresh algae after further hydroxyapatite chromatography. This research provides a potential way for preparation of phycoerythrin in large sclae.

Objective To investigate the double-lumen endobronchial intubation-related anatomical factors of respiratory tract in adult patients through measurement of the parameters of glottis and left main bronchus using computed tomography(CT). Methods A total of 206 patients of both sexes, aged 20-80 yr, of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ-Ⅲ, scheduled for elective surgery, were enrolled in this study. The cervical and thoracic CT images were evaluated. The anteroposterior glottic diame-ter(AP-GD), anteroposterior tracheal diameter(AP-TD), transverse tracheal diameter(Tr-TD), left and right main bronchus diameters(LBD and RBD)and length between glottis and carina(G-TL)were measured.Multiple linear regression analyses were performed to detect the correlations between obtained pa-rameters and between obtained parameters and height. Results AP-GD was(19±3)mm, AP-TD(20± 4)mm, Tr-TD(16.6±2.4)mm, LBD(12.3±2.0)mm, RBD(13.7±2.0)mm and G-TL(126± 11)mm.AP-GD, height, AP-TD and Tr-TD were moderately correlated with LBD(r was 0.522, 0.584, 0.648 and 0.606, respectively, P<0.05).AP-TD +Tr-TD+AP-GD+height served as the inde-pendent variable, the fitting curve was confirmed, and the results showed that AP-TD, Tr-TD and height were the affecting factors for LBD, and the degree of correlation with LBD was as follows from high to low:Tr-TD(b′=0.334), AP-TD(b′=0.323), height(b′=0.243). When AP-GD served as the independ-ent variable and curve fitting was performed, there was no significant difference(P>0.05). Conclusion Tr-TD and AP-GD should be considered besides double-lumen endobronchial intubation-related anatomical factors such as LBD and height in adult patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of Piezo1 activated by mechanical stress on knee osteoarthritis synovial fibrosis via the extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)1/2 signaling pathway. Methods Twenty-five Sprague Dawley rats were divided into blank,exercise,exercise+GsMTx4,exercise+PD98059,and exercise+GsMTx4+PD98059 groups(n=5 per group). After modeling, serum and synovial tissue were extracted and collagen deposition was evaluated by Sirius red and Masson staining.Expression levels of Piezo1,ERK1/2,phospho(p)-ERK1/2,α-smooth muscle actin(SMA),transforming growth factor(TGF)-β,Collagen Ⅰ,and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase(TIMP)-1 were detected by Western blot and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),and the interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α contents were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. For cell experiments, synovial cells were divided into blank,pull,pull+GsMTx4,pull+PD98059,and pull+GsMTx4+PD98059 groups and the above indices were detected in the model cells by Western blot,RT-qPCR,and other techniques. Results Mechanical stress increased collagen deposition in synovial tissues in the rats, and increased the protein and mRNA expression levels of the pathway-related and fibrosis-specific indicators Piezo1,p-ERK/ERK,α-SMA,TGF-β,Collagen I,and TIMP-1(P<0.05).Piezo1 expression was significantly down-regulated by both inhibitors(P<0.05),but the ERK inhibitor(PD98059)had no significant effect on Piezo1 gene expression.Levels of serum inflammatory factors were significantly higher in the exercise group compared with the blank group(P<0.05),and levels were significantly reduced by the inhibitors(P<0.05).The in vitro experiments showed the same trends as the animal experiments. Conclusions The Piezo1 ion channel can sense mechanical stress and activate the ERK 1/2 pathway to mediate knee synovial fibrosis.

Macrobrachium nipponensis is delicious and has high economic value, but its susceptibility to white-spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is unknown. Susceptibility, morbidity, and multiplication of WSSV in M. nipponense were studied by epidemiological survey, infection experiment and qPCR. M. nipponense was the natural host of WSSV, and the natural carrying rate was about 8.33%. M. nipponense could be infected with WSSV via oral administration, muscle injection and immersion, and the cumulative infection rate of 10 d exposure was 100%, and the cumulative mortality rates were 100%, 75% and 0%, respectively. The infection of WSSV is fast by muscle injection. The virus content after 5 day's injection is 1 000 times higher than that of the first day of infection, and the mortality rate reached 100% after 8 days. The median lethal dose (LD₅₀) measured as the mortality of infected M. nipponense via injection indicated the LD₅₀ in the concentration of WSSV of 2.71×10⁵ virions/μL. In shrimp farming, M. nipponense can be infected by ingesting WSSV infected shrimp or dead shrimp, and also by soaking in WSSV-containing water and thus become a vector, consequently affecting the spread and pathogenicity of WSSV.
