A new plaster of Chinese materia medica,Xiaoshitie Plaster,is used to treat externally the internal disease through the navel application therapy method(giving medicine by trans- dermal absorption).It possesses the functions of invigoration the spleen and regulating the stomach-energy,promoting digestion and relieving dyspepsia,and is used for anorectic symp- tom in children.The investigation on clinical curative effect on 173 cases indicated that the total effective rate is up to 89.3%.It especially suited to anorectic symptom in children with asthenia of the spleen and stomach-energy.The effective rate is 93.94% and no toxicity and side-effect were observed.

Sepsis has relatively high morbidity and mortality in patients at intensive care unit (ICU). With the study of sepsis having continued to develop in recent years, the defects existing in this research have unceasingly exposed. Because the lack of design process of international standardized clinical randomized controlled trials (RCT) for septic patients, the situation of incomplete data record exists in these clinical studies, that may further affect the interpretation of the research results, therefore it is in urgent need to have an international standardized RCT design process for septic patients.

Objective To observe normal range based on normal adult echocardiography with data mining retrospectively.Methods Analyzed the echocardiography data of 15 553 patients who came to Peking university People's Hospital from Nov 2012 to Nov 2014 without obvious abnormalities of cardiac structure and function.The reference range of 15 parameters were calculated and analyzed in correlation with gender,age and other factors for each group.Results The reference ranges of basic measurement parameters in two-dimensional echocardiography:main pulmonary artery diameter(MPA) (2.14 ± 0.22)cm,diameter of ascending aorta (asc Aorta) (2.87 ± 0.35) cm;The reference ranges of basic measurement parameters in M-mode echocardiography:aortic root diameter (Ao root diam) (2.82 ± 0.35) cm,left atrial dimension (LA dimension) (3.14 ± 0.37) cm,interventricular septal end-diastole thickness (Ⅳsd) (0.86 ±0.12)cm,left ventricular internal diameter at end-diastole (LVIDd)(4.67 ± 0.41)cm,left ventricular internal diameter at end-systole (LVIDs) (2.83 ± 0.34) cm,left ventricular posterior wall end-diastolic thickness(LVPWd) (0.85 ± 0.12) cm,end diastolic volume (EDV) (101.21 ± 19.83) ml,end-systole volume (ESV) (31.09 ± 9.07) ml,ejection fraction (EF) (69.55 ± 5.70) ％;The reference ranges of basic measurement parameters in pulsed doppler echocardiography:mitral A wave velocity (MVA) (73.14 ±16.42) cm/s,mitral E wave velocity(MVE) (84.18 ± 16.17) cm/s,E/A (1.21 ± 0.35),aortic peak velocity (Ao V2 max) (124.95 ± 19.87) cm/s.The measured parameters of males were higher than those of females and value of measured was increased with age for example measured parameters in LVIDd (r =0.225,P =0.00),IVSd(r =0.216,P =0.00),LA dimension (r =0.231,P =0.00) and E/A(r =0.212,P =0.00),with age were positive correlated.The range of 15 parameters in this study and the ASE 2015 guide are similar but have slightly different,such as this research shows that men's left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (4.77 ±0.41) cm,the ASE recommend (5.02 ±0.41) cm which is smaller than the result of this study.And this study for women (4.60 ± 0.40) cm is higher than the ASE recommended (4.50 + 0.36)cm.Conclusions Based on preliminary analysis of large data from normal adult echocardiography,the rang of measured values could be used as a normal reference value of echocardiographyfor routine practice in China.

Objective To study the effects of extract 5F from Pteris semipinnata L. on the apoptosis of skin fibroblasts in patients with systemic sc leroderma (SSc) and the possible mechanism of its inhibition on the proliferatio n of skin fibroblasts. Methods The cultured SSc skin fibroblasts were used as an experimental model, and the apoptosis of SSc skin fibroblasts before and afte r the extract 5F stimulation was detected by TUNEL assay and fluorescent microsc opy. Results The apoptosis of SSc skin fibroblasts was induced by the extract 5F, and the apoptosis was enhanced along with the increase of the concentration and incubation time of this compound within definite limits. Conclusions These results indicate that the extract 5F can induce the apoptosis of SSc skin fibro blasts, and significantly inhibit the proliferation and collagen synthesis in th ese cells.

Objective To study the effect of herbal medicine Pteris semipinnata5F on the fibroblasts from systemic scleroderma(SSc)skin and explore new drug for SSc treatment.Methods The SSc skin fibroblasts were cultured as an experimental model and the effects of Pteris semipinnata5F were detected.The cell proliferation was determined by MTT assay,and the collagen production by photometric determination.The mRNA expression for typeⅠandⅢprocollagen was detected by RT-PCR.Results It was shown that Pteris semipinnata5F could not only significantly inhibit the proliferation of the cultured SSc skin fibroblasts,but also significantly reduce the soluble collagen content in the culture medium(P

Objective To investigate the influence of thrombus aspiration on ventricular remodeling of patients with ST?segment elevation type of myocardial infarction ( STEMI ) who underwent emergency percutaneous coronary intervention ( PCI) and its predicative value for patients′ prognosis. Methods Three hundred and eight patients who were diagnosed with STEMI line emergency PCI and hospitalized in the Cardiology Department of Jinghai Clinical College of Medical University of Tianjin from March 2011 to March 2014 were retrospective analyzed, including 152 patients received thrombus aspiration during primary PCI as thrombus aspiration group,and the remaining 156 patients without thrombus aspiration as control group. Indexes of myocardial perfusion levels such as ST?segment resolution 2 hours after PCI and TIMI myocardial perfusion grade were measured in all patients. All patients accepted echocardiography examinations to detect left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVED) and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) 10 days after PCI. The indexes differences of the two groups,secondary end points major cardiac adverse events(MACE) at 6 months were compared. Results There was no statistical difference between the ratio of two groups for ST segment fell more than 50%( 78. 9%( 120/152) vs. 71. 2%( 111/156) ,χ2=0. 428,P=0. 669) . But for ST segment fell more than 70%,the ratio of the thrombus aspiration group was significantly higher than that in the control group ( 73. 7%( 112/152 ) vs. 47. 4% ( 74/156 ) , χ2 = 4. 701, P = 0. 001 ) . Two groups of patients were treated by echocardiography 10 days after PCI,showed the LVED in the thrombus aspiration group was lower than that in the control group((50. 2±4. 7) mm vs. (51. 6±4. 6) mm,t=2. 642,P=0. 008),while the LVEF value was higher than that in the control group((56. 9±4. 9)% vs. (49. 4±4. 2)%,t=14. 434,P=0. 001). Recurrent angina pectoris decreased significantly in the thrombus aspiration group at 6 months ( 4. 61% ( 7/152 ) vs. 10. 90%(17/156),χ2=2. 056,P=0. 040). Conclusion STEMI patients adopt thrombus aspiration that undergoing emergency PCI,not only can improve myocardial reperfusion,especially microcirculation reperfusion, but also can improve the left ventricular systolic function and the prognosis of patients.

Objective To investigate the iodine nutritional status of the crowd that did not participate in the iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) survey in iodine deficiency areas in Jiangsu Province so as to provide a basis for prevention and control of IDD.Methods Eight to ten years old children were chosen from the counties(cities,districts) of Jiangsu Province that did not participate in the IDD survey and urine samples of students and salt samples of their families were researched.In each county (city,district) one township (street) was selected according to 5 directions of east,south,west,north,center; in each township one primary school was selected and in each primary school 20 children aged 8-10 were chosen half of the male and female,to collect their urine samples and salt samples at their families.Urinary iodine was measured using arsenic cerium catalytic spectrophotometric method (WS/T 107-2006),and salt iodine was measured using direct titration of universal test method in salt industry (GB/T 13025.7-1999).Iodine nutrition criterion of international health organization recommended staindard:children urinary iodine ＜ 100 μg/L as iodine deficiency,100-199 μg/L as iodine appropriate,200-299 μg/L as iodine more than appropriate,≥ 300 μg/L as iodine excess.Results A total of 7 523 urinary samples of 8-10 years old children were collected from 76 iodine deficiency counties (cities,districts),and the median of urinary iodine was 235.0 μg/L.In all investigated counties (cities,districts),the medians of urinary iodine of 22 counties(cities,districts) were 100-199 μg/L,42 counties(cities,districts) were 200-299 μg/L,and 12 counties (cities,districts) were ≥300 μg/L.A total of 7 523 salt samples were collected,and the median of salt iodine was 29.68 mg/kg; Taizhou City had the highest salt iodine median,which was 31.43 mg/kg; and Lianyungang City,the lowest,25.11 mg/kg.The coverage rate of iodized salt was 98.6％(7 417/7 523); iodized salt qualification rate was 98.6％ (7 312/7 417); and consuming rate of qualified iodized salt was 97.2％(7 312/7 523) in 76 iodine deficiency counties (cities,districts).Conclusions The progress in prevention and control of IDD in iodine-deficient areas that did not participate in IDD survey in the past is good in Jiangsu Province; the overall level of iodine nutrition of whole population is adequate.But the median of urinary iodine in some counties (cities,districts) is at a higher level.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the capability of semi-quantitative and quantitative parameters of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) to predict the response to concurrent chemoradiotherapy( CCRT) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

METHODSA total of 24 patients with stage III or IIIB NSCLC, who underwent 3.0T DCE-MRI before CCRT, were enrolled in this study. Semi-quantitative and quantitative parameters were calculated by Funtool and Omnikinetics software. The relationship between these obtained parameters and tumor response was evaluated by Spearmen' s correlation analysis. The patients were classified into two groups according to the tumor regression rate after treatment, as response group (group A) and non-response group ( group B). Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the parameters of responders and non-responders. The value of the parameters on predicting response was calculated by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC).

RESULTSThe tumor regression rate after treatment was negatively correlated with time to peak (TTP) and the extravascular-extracellular volume fraction (Ve), and was positively correlated with signal enhancement ratio (SERmax) and volume transfer constant (Ktrans) (P < 0.05 for all). Statistical significant differences were found between group A and group B both in semi-quantitative and quantitative parameters (P < 0.05). Group A had a lower TTP value [(34.66 ± 16.37) s vs. (44.09 ± 17.41) s] and Ve value [(0.19 ± 0.03) vs. (0.25 ± 0.05)] than group B, whereas group A had a higher SERmax [(166.50 ± 44.95)% vs. (113.57 ± 46.62)%] and Ktrans [(0.41 ± 0.17) min(-1) vs. (0.28 ± 0.12) min(-1)] than group B (P < 0.05 for all). The ROC analysis indicated that when setting the threshold of Ve on ≤ 0.21 for predicting response, the specificity, sensitivity and accuracy were 85.7%, 80.0% and 83.3%, respectively, with an area under curve of 0.875 (P < 0.001).

CONCLUSIONSBoth the semi-quantitative and quantitative DCE-MRI parameters are helpful for predicting the response after CCRT of NSCLC. Quantitative parameters seem to be more meaningful than semi-quantitative parameters.

Objective:To investigate the expression of receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE)in the thyroid tissue of diabetes mellitus (DM)rats.Methods:The rat model of DM was established by high-lipid diet and vena caudalis injection of streptozocin.The rats of DM models were then randomly divided into three groups:DM group(n=17),insulin intervention group(n=16)and aminoguanidine intervention group(n=16).Nine normal rats were taken as controls.Twelve weeks after the establishment of DM model,rats were sacrificed and the thyroid tissue was taken to determine RAGE mRNA and the protein expression with the method of RT-PCR and Western Blot.Results:The levels of RAGE mRNA and protein expression were higher in the thyroid tissue of DM rats than those in controls (P＜0.05).The levels of RAGE mRNA and protein expression were lower in the thyroid tissue of insulin intervention group and aminoguanidine intervention group than thor of DM group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:The levels of RAGE mRNA and protein expression were up-regulated in the thyroid tissue of DM rats,which can be restrained by controlling blood glucose and blocking the formation of advanced glycation end products.
