AIM: Currently available anti-scarring regimens for glaucoma filtration surgery have potentially blinding complications and safer alternatives would be beneficial. This experiment is to investigate the effect of TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide on differentiation, proliferation of subconjunctival fibroblast following glaucoma filtration surgery.METHODS: Glaucoma filtration surgery were performed on both eyes of 28 rabbits. TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynudeotide was subconjunctivally injected in the right eyes (A group), and TGF-β2 missense oligodeoxynucleotide (B group)or PBS(C group) was used at the same method in the left eyes as controls. Rabbits were killed at 4,7,14 and 28 days after surgery. Intraocular pressure (IOP), bleb characteristics were recorded at different time point. Subconjunctival fibroblasts were examined by immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy.RESULTS: The IOP of rabbits in group A was significantly lower at 14 days (6.74± 1.18 mmHg) and 21 days (8.15± 1.97mmHg) after operation than the IOP in group B (8.53± 1.04,9.72± 1.09 mmHg)(P <0.01) and group C(8.79± 1.21, 9.43±1.27 mmHg) (P <0.05). The mean bleb survival time was longer (17.2 days) in group A than that of group B (14.5 days) and group C (13.5 days)(P<0.05). The population of the cells expressing α -smooth muscle actin(α -SMA) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) was significantly reduced in group A compared with the group B and C. The ultrastructure of fibroblast was not altered by TGF-β2 anti-sense oligodeoxynucleotide.CONCLUSION:TGF-β2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide can prevent the scar formation after glaucoma surgery by inhibit the differentiation and proliferation of subconjunctival fibroblast. It could be a potentially useful anti-scarring alternative for the prevention of late surgical failure.
2.Advance in research on dengue virus infection and replication
Bulletin of The Academy of Military Medical Sciences 2001;25(1):62-66,76
Dengue (DEN) virus is a member of the family flaviviridae which consists of a group of enveloped viruses with a single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome. DEN virus infection is initiated by the binding of envelope protein E to cellular receptor, followed by replication in cytoplasm which associated with a range of induced membrane structures. Further characterization of the DEN replication complex (RC) showed the involvement of NS1, NS2A, NS3, NS4A, and NS5 proteins as the viral replicase. The DEN virion maturation is associated with the cleavage of precursor of protein C by NS2B/NS3 protease and the glucosylase-mediated N-linked oligosaccharide trimming of prM, E protein. This review summarizes recent advance in research on DEN virus life cycle, emphasizing cellular receptor, RNA replication and virion assembly.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2016;47(9):1567-1571
Objective: To study the effects and mechanism of Xiaoyan Decoction on bone marrow suppression in mice from aspects of peripheral blood cell ratio, immune function, and cytokines. Methods: A mouse model of bone marrow suppression was established. Fifty mice were randomly divided into five groups (n = 10): control group, model group, Xiaoyan Decoction group, rhG-CSF group, and Xiaoyan Decoction combined with rhG-CS group. Lewis-tumor mice in Xiaoyan Decoction group were ig given Xiaoyan Decoction 18.2 g/(kg·d) twice daily, for 7 d. Lewis-tumor mice in rhG-CS group were treated by sc injection of rhG-CSF. The routine blood test, immunological functions of peripheral blood and cytokines (IL-3, IL-6, EPO, and GM-CSF) in serum were detected. Results: The bone marrow suppression model was successfully established. Compared with control group, the levels of WBC, RBC, Hb, and PLT in peripheral blood of model group were decreased, especially in WBC (P < 0.05). There is a remarkable increase in the level of WBC in Xiaoyan Decoction group and rhG-CS group as compared with model group (P < 0.05). Contrasted with model group, a significant increasing of CD3+CD8+T cells and CD3+CD8+cells on peripheral blood lymphocytes was observed in Xiaoyan Decoction group and combined group. The level of Treg cell in combined group was significantly less than that of Treg cell in rhG-CS group (P < 0.05). And there was no difference in NK cell level among all these groups (P > 0.05). The concentration of IL-3 and IL-6 was dramatically reduced in model group compared with control group (P < 0.05). And it showed an obviously increasing trend in IL-3, IL-6, EPO, and GM-CSF levels in Xiaoyan Decoction group and combined group, as well as an increase in IL-3, IL-6 levels in rhG-CS group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: It shows that Xiaoyan Decoction combined with rhG-CS can improve the level of WBC and immunological functions of peripheral blood in bone marrow suppression model mice. And the effect of combination of both drugs is more significant. This might be related to the effect of promoting the production of serum hematopoietic regulator such as IL-3, IL-6, EPO, and GM-CSF, and relieving chemotherapy-induced bone marrow suppression.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2004;0(09):-
In order to investigate the hygienic characteristic of anti-immersion trousers, ten male soldiers dressed in the trousers or in camouflage trousers were subjected to exercise test and sedentary test respectively at room temperature of 17?2℃. In the test, eleven parameters such as core temperature, skin temperature, heat flow and so on were observed. The results indicated that in sedentary tests, the low limb heat flow of the subjects dressed in anti-immersion trousers was larger than that dressed in camouflage trousers; the heat insulation value of anti-immersion trousers was smaller than that of camouflage trousers; and for the other parameters, there was no evident difference between the two group. It suggested that when used on land, hygiene characteristic and effect on body heat balance of the anti-immersion trousers were similar to those of camouflage trousers.
