Objective: To study the protective effects and the mechanism of Salvia yunnanensis extract on hypoxia/reoxygenation injury in cultured rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes.Methods: The hypoxia/reoxygen (H/R) injury model was established in H9c2 cell strain with or without the extract of Salvia yunnanensis.The cultured H9c2 cardiomyocytes were randomly divided into 6 groups: the normal control (C) group, H/R group, H/R+verapamil (H/R+V) group, H/R+Salvia yunnanensis extract at low dose (H/R+L, 0.01 mg·L-1) group, medium dose (H/R+M, 0.1 mg·L-1) group and high dose (H/R+H, 1.0 mg·L-1) group.The cell viability was measured by MTT assay and the activity of malondialdehyde (MDA) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was measured by a detection kit.Fluorescence absorbance (A) value was measured by a fluoroscopy to show the intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels.Results: Compared with that in the model group, the survival rate of myocardial cells was significantly higher in Salvia yunnanensis extract at low, medium and high dose groups (P＜0.05 or P＜0.01), and the intracellular LDH leakage (P＜0.05 or P＜0.01), the content of MDA in cytoplasm (P＜0.01) and the intracellular ROS levels significantly decreased in Salvia yunnanensis extract at high dose group (P＜0.05).Conclusion: The extract of Salvia yunnanensis has protective effect on hypoxia/reoxygenation injury in cultured rat H9c2 cardiomyocytes, and the mechanism may be related to the reduction of lipid peroxides and removal of cell oxygen free radicals.

Objective To develop a human immune-deficiency virus (HIV) infection risk appraisal model suitable for men who has sex with men (MSM) in Guangzhou,and to provide tools for follow-up the outcomes on health education and behavior intervention.Methods A cros-sectional study was conducted in Guangzhou from 2008 to 2010.Based on the HIV surveillance data,the main risk factors of HIV infection among MSM were screened by means of logistic regression.Degree on relative risk was transformed into risk scores by adopting the statistics models.Individual risk scores,group risk scores and individual infection risk in comparison with usual MSM groups could then be calculated according to the rate of exposure on those risk factors appeared in data from the surveillance programs.Results Risk factors related to HIV infection among MSM and the quantitative assessment standard (risk scores and risk scores table of population groups) for those factors were set up by multiple logistic regression,including age,location of registered residence,monthly income,major location for finding their sexual partners,HIV testing in the past year,age when having the first sexual intercourse,rate of condom use in the past six months,symptoms related to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and syphilis in particular.The average risk score of population was 6.06,with risk scores for HIV positive and negative as 3.10 and 18.08 respectively (P＜ 0.001 ).The rates of H IV infection for different score groups were 0.9％,2.0％,7.0％,14.4％ and 33.3％,respectively.The sensitivity and specificity on the prediction of scores were 54.4％ and 75.4％ respectively,with the accuracy rate as 74.2％.Conclusion HIV infection risk model could be used to quantify and classify the individual' s infectious status and related factors among MSM more directly and effectively,so as to help the individuals to identify their high-risk behaviors as well as lifestyles.We felt that it could also serve as an important tool used for personalized HIV health education and behavior intervention programs.

Objedtve To summarize the experience of single-stage repair of coarctation of aorta(CoA) or interrupted aortic arch (IAA)and associated intracardiac defects through median stemotomy.Methods From Jan 2007 to Jul 2008,a total of 24 pa-tients with CoA or IAA and associated intracardisc defects were surgically repaired in single-stage through median stermotomy,inchud-ing 9 coanctation of aorta,12 coarctation with aortic arch hypoplasia,and 3 interrupted aorlic arch,.The associated intracardiac de-fects were Taussing-Bing anomaly 4,non-restricted VSD 22,subaortic stenosis 1 and pulmonary vein stenosis 1.The age ranged form 1 to 99 months (average 16 months) and the body weight ranged from 4 to 19 kg(average 9.3 kg).Aortic arch reconstruction was performed by hypothermic continuous low flow bypass using regional perfusion for all patients.Three patients with LAA and 9 patients with CoA underwent end-to-end ansetomosis.Of the 12 patients with coarctation and aortic arch hyipoplasia,8 patiellts underwent ex-tended end-to-end anastomosis,2 patients underwent end-to-side anastomosis and 2 patients underwent aortoplasfy.Results 2 cases were dead. One infant with Taussig-Bing type heart was dead of severe infection after 47 days postoperative,the other one who associ-ated with LAA and VSD dead of pulmonary hypertension crisis due to pneumonia after 15 days postoperative.No patient presented neu-rdogieal complication and renal insufficiency during the perioperation.2 cases presented recurrent respiratory problem.During the 18months follow-up,no patient presented with recoarctation except one with pressure gradient more than 20 mm Hg.Conclusion Pa-tients with coarctation of aorta or interrupted aortic arch and associsted intracardisc defects should be surgically treated as early as pos-sible when diagnosis was mode.Single-stage sortic arch reconstruction through median stemotomy using continuous regional perfusion is an effective and safe procedurd.Sufficient resection of ductus,extensive dissection of thoracic vessels and optimal tissus-tissue anas-tomosis techmique are very important for successful repair and avoiding recoarctation.

Objective:To see the influence of different antiplatelet therapies on stroke patients’ readmission by performing a deep data-mining into Beijing Healthcare Insuring Database,based on a large sample size.Methods:Aretrospective cohort study,was adopted to extract patients primarily diag-nosed as ischemic stroke from healthcare database.The first hospital records were considered as the pa-tient’s baseline in this study,who were divided into MAPT (aspirin)and DAPT (aspirin and clopi-dogrel)according to the patient’s baseline medications.A follow-up was conducted to see whether the patients would have rehospitalization record because of major result events after medication.The major re-sult events,included:(1 )recurrence of ischemic stroke;(2)hemorrhagic transformation of ischemic stroke;(3)myocardial infarction;(4)the digestive hemorrhage.The Kaplan-Meier figure was used to compare the survival situations between these two groups,the log-rank test was used to test the difference of the survival curve,and 1 ∶1 propensity score matching was calculated from the patients’baseline da-ta.Cox proportional hazards model was used to calculate the hazard ratio (HR).Results:A total of 27 695 patients From January 201 0 to September 201 3 were included,4 047 with DAPT,and 23 648 with MAPT.Because the baseline characteristics of the patients was disequilibrium,so we used 1 ∶1 pro-pensity score matching,after which,the number of the two groups was 4 046 each.Adjusted for the gen-eral demographic characteristics such as age,sex,nationality,complication and drug combination,no statistical significance was observed between the survival curves of the two groups (P =0.06).HR value of major result events between the groups was 0.91 (0.82 -1 .01 ,P =0.07),which was not statistically significant.The covariate gender HR =1 .36 (1 .20 -1 .55,P <0.05),accompanied by diabetes HR =1 .36 (1 .20 -1 .54,P <0.05 ),dyslipidemia HR =1 .1 3 (1 .00 -1 .27,P =1 .1 3),heart disease HR =1 .39 (1 .22 -1 .58,P <0.05)was statistically significant.Drug combination with other antiplate-let agents HR =1 .05 (0.95 -1 .1 7,P >1 .05)did not increase the risk of readmission.Conclusion:There was no difference in prevention of readmission between patients with DAPT and MAPT.Patients with complications should actively treat the complications at the same time as they prevent recurrence after first attack.

Objective To analyze the stability and accuracy of the equipment for three-dimensional ultrasound-based image-guided radiation therapy (3DUS-IGRT) in daily practice, and to provide a basis for clinical application of radiotherapy for soft tissue tumors.Methods A specific calibration phantom was used for continuous calibration and quality control of the 3DUS-IGRT equipment in a year.The method for daily quality control of ultrasound-guided equipment was explored, and its stability and accuracy were monitored.Results The phantom position errors in both Sim and Guide stations of the 3DUS-IGRT equipment were within 1 mm.Conclusions The 3DUS-IGRT equipment has a stable performance with the support of a complete set of stringent and accurate calibration and quality control, which provides a new image-guided method for precise radiotherapy for soft tissue tumors.

BACKGROUND:Recovery of motor and sensory function from peripheral nerve injury is relatively slow and incomplete. It is a difficult problem for orthopedic surgeons that mainly leads to the decline in the quality of life in patients.
OBJECTIVE: To conclude the methods and corresponding outcomes in peripheral nerve regeneration by analyzing the new treatment means for peripheral nerve injury.
METHODS:PubMed, Wanfang, CNKI databases were retrieved for relevant articles using key words of “nerve injury, regeneration”, and then retrieval data were sorted and analyzed.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In recent years, in-depth studies on peripheral nerve repair have been made in the folowing aspects: surgical mode, drug, cytokine, gene transfer and biomaterials as wel as traditional Chinese medicine. If the detect size is four times longer than the diameter of nerves, the nerve regeneration chamber can achieve good outcomes. The methods of restoring nerve continuity folowing nerve injury are developed from surgical anastomosis to photochemohistological method, thermal laser welding, plastic repair and other emerging technologies. Studies have found that plasminogen activator, nerve growth factor, neurotrophic factor, recombinant erythropoietin, human tissue kalikrein, B vitamins and their derivatives, herbal preparations, immunosuppressive agents al can promote nerve regeneration.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic value of bedside severe ultrasound in children with shock.Methods:Children who were diagnosed shock in the PICU of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from May 1, 2019 to April 31, 2020 were included in this study.Rapid ultrasound in shock (RUSH) exam was used to evaluate the morphology and function of heart, lung and abdomen of children with shock, so as to assist the diagnosis and treatment of shock.Results:Twenty-six children with shock were evaluated immediately according to the RUSH exam when they were admitted to hospital.Eight cases were diagnosed as septic shock, six cases as cardiogenic shock, six cases as hypovolemic shock and six cases as mixed shock.The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of children with cardiogenic shock was (26.5±8.24)%, and the width of inferior vena cava was greater than 10 mm.After the shock was corrected, LVEF increased to (32.17±26.11)%.However, the LVEF of children with septic shock was (73.25±1.28)% at admission and (50.12±31.41)% at shock correction.Nine cases (34.6%) found more B-lines in the lungs after fluid resuscitation for one hour in 26 children with shock.Among them, about 50% of the children with cardiogenic shock found more B-lines in their lungs one hour after fluid resuscitation, and 11 cases(57.9%) of the surviving children showed more B-lines after shock correction, but only six children could hear blisters after physical examination.Conclusion:According to RUSH exam, we can evaluate the volume status, cardiac function, volume responsiveness and focus on infection in children with shock, distinguish the type of shock earlier and more accurately, assist in guiding fluid resuscitation, and facilitate accurate and individualized fluid management and treatment of patients.

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that craniocerebral injury can promote the repair of sciatic nerve injury in rats, but its precise mechanism remains unclear.
OBJECTIVE:To further explore the action mechanism of craniocerebral injury on the repair of sciatic nerve injury using morphology and histology.
METHODS:Sixty specific-pathogen-free healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into two groups. Rats with craniocerebral injury and sciatic nerve injury were considered as the experimental group. Rats with simple sciatic nerve injury were considered as the control group. Classical Feeney method was used in models of craniocerebral injury and SunderlandV sciatic nerve injury. At 8 and 12 weeks after modeling, sciatic nerve index was detected. Masson staining and NF200 immunofluorescence staining were used to observethe nerve regeneration atthe anstomotic site. Transmission electron microscope was used to observe the number of regenerative axons.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 8 and 12 weeks after modeling, compared with the control group, gait and sciatic nerve index recovered better in the experimental group. In the experimental group, Masson staining showed fewer nerve membrane colagen fibers, and the axon arranged neatly.NF200 immunohistochemistry showed that in the experimental group, the density of regenerated nerves was high, and nerveswere regularly distributed. Transmission electron microscopy showed that in the experimental group, regenerative axons were regularly arranged, colagen scar was less, and myelin layer arranged regularly. Results suggested that the craniocerebral injury in rats may promote the repair of peripheral nerve injury by reducing scar colagen in nerve endings.

Objective To establish a RP-HPLC method for the determination of the blood concentration of paeoniflorin which was produced by seven kinds of warming-inside drugs (WID) being used with the promoting-blood drugs (PBD) individually and to explore the mechanism of PBD and WID compound prescription.
