Objective To observe the effect ofprostaglandin E1 intravenously in the improvement of the function of renal glomeruli and renal tubules in hypertensive patients complicated with microalbuminuria. Methods Totally 60 hypertensive patients complicated with microalbuminuria and nocturia who had received losartan for above 12 weeks, according to random number table method were divided into treatment group and control group, with 30 cases in each group.Original antihypertensive drugs were used continuously in treatment group and control group, and patients in treatment group received prostaglandin E1 intravenously for 3 courses of treatment, with losartan and other antihypertensive drugs routinely.Using self-contrast before and after treatment and contrast with control group, the change of urinary level of microalbumin (mALB),osmotic pressure,β2-microglodulin (β 2-MG) and N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) were compared. Results The blood pressure after treatment in both groups were decreased, but there was no statistically significant difference compared with that before treatment (P > 0.05).After treatment of 12 weeks, urinary levels of mALB,β 2-MG and NAG in treatment group were lower than those in control group [(88.6 ± 14.2)μg/min vs.(123.9 ± 14.8) μg/min,(0.84 ±0.41) mg/L vs.(1.61 ±0.49) mg/L,(30.2 ± 10.5) U/L vs.(75.7 ± 12.8) U/L],and osmotic pressure was higher than that in control group [(591 ± 71) mmol/L vs.(454 ± 67) mmol/L],the difference had statistical significance (P < 0.01).Conclusion Prostaglandin E1can reduce the renal ischemic state in early stage of hypertensive renal damage and can improve renal function.

Objective To study the mutations of Env sequence of SIVmac239 after infection of Chinese rhesus monkeys, and compare the differences and characteristics of Gp120 sequences of enterotropic and neurotropic SIV strains. Methods Six strains of simian immunodeficiency virus were analyzed in this study: four separated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells of SIVmac239-infected monkeys and two neurotropic SIVmac251 strains.Isolated and cultured monoclonal virus was obtained by limiting dilution assay.Gp120 sequences were amplified after the RNA extraction and phylogenetic analysis was processed thereafter. So did the Gp120 amino acid sequence and N-glycosylation sites analysis of the enterotropic and neurotropic strains. Results SIVmac239 had different mutations in four rhesus monkeys. The diversity in amino acid sequences of the enterotropic and neurotropic strains concentrated in the V1 and V4 regions of Gp120.The enterotropic strains had an addition of glycosylation site in V4 but the glycosylation site changes of neurotropic strains were located in the conservative regions of C1, C2 and C3.Conclusions The addition of one glycosylation site in V4 region of GP120 and loss of one glycosylation site in C1 region are associated with enhanced enterotropism and neurotropism. The differences between the enterotropic and neurotropic strains are not dipicted in Gp120 V3 region which is closely related with the tropism of strains.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of body weight supported treadmill training (BWSTT) for the recovery of walking ability and comprehensive function after thoracolumbar spinal cord injury (SCI).Methods Sixty patients with SCIs in a thoracolumbar segment were assigned to a treatment group or a control group with 30 in each. Both groups received similar conventional rehabilitation training, but the patients in the treatment group were additionally treated with BWSTT (30 to 40 min, once daily,5 d/week,30 days for a course,a total 3 courses). The American Spinal Injury Association lower-extremity motor function assessment (ASIA),a functional comprehensive assessment (FCA),the walking ability assessment from the FCA (WA) and the modified Barthel index (MB1) were used in the assessment of the two groups before and after treatment. Results There were no significant differences in the two groups' average ASIA,FCA,WA or MBI results before treatment. After treatment ASIA,FCA,WA and MBI scores had all increased significantly in the treatment group compared with before treatment, and were significantly higher than in the control group. Conclusion As a supplement to conventional rehabilitation,BWSTT can improve walking ability and comprehensive function significantly after thoracolumbar spinal cord injury.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2001;23(3):349-351
Objective To explore the correlation between the expression of p33/ING1 and the clinicopathological features in patients with colorectal cancer, and to understand the possible mechanism of p33/ING1 in the oncogenesis of colorectal neoplasms. Methods All samples of normal mucosa and cancer tissues from 52 patients with colorectal cancer were detected for their expression levels of p33/ING1 by RT-PCR. Results A significant decrease in p33/ING1 mRNA expression was found in 30 out of 52(57.7%) colorectal cancer tissues. The results also showed that repression of p33/ING1 expression markedly related to both the Duke's stage and metastasis. Conclusion Down-regulation of p33/ING1 may play an important role in the oncogenesis and development of colorectal carcinoma.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2009;17(2):513-518
ABCG2, a half-transporter concerning with the endo and exon-toxin-efflux, plays an important role in protecting the normal tissues from the toxin-hurt as well as mediating the multidrug resistance, because many of the chemotherapeutic drugs are the substrate of ABCG2. In this paper, the advance of research about this gene's single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) was explained concisely. The relationship among ABCG2, the stem cells and the tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) was reviewed. The research about drug resistance related-progress in hematologic malignancies was analyzed retrospectively and the present problems and the perspective in the future were discussed.

Chinese Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery 2005;8(4):352-355
OBJECTIVETo investigate the expressions of RhoC, CD44v6 and ICAM-1 in gastric cancer and their correlations.
METHODSSABC immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of RhoC, CD44v6 and ICAM-1 in the specimens from 40 cases with gastric cancer. Their correlations were reviewed by clinicopathological data.
RESULTSThe expression of RhoC, CD44v6 and ICAM-1 were not correlated with tumor differentiation and invasion depth (P> 0.05), but significantly correlated with lymph metastasis and pTNM stage (P< 0.05). There was a significant correlation between the expression of RhoC and the expression of CD44v6 or ICAM-1 (r=0.355, P=0.006; r=0.354, P=0.003) respectively. If RhoC was positive-expressed, and either of CD44v6 or ICAM-1 was positive-expressed, the sensitivity and the specificity for predicting the lymphatic metastasis was 93.75%, 62.5% respectively.
CONCLUSIONSThe positive expressions of RhoC, CD44v6 and ICAM-1 are useful biological markers for predicting the metastatic potential of gastric cancer. The combined detection of three markers is a useful method for predicting lymphatic metastasis of gastric cancer.

National Journal of Andrology 2007;13(1):30-32
OBJECTIVETo assess the diagnostic value of alpha-glycosidase for epididymal lump induced obstructive azoospermia.
METHODSSeventy-six infertile men with normal spermatogenic function were divided according to sperm density into a normal density group (n = 27), an oligospermia group (n = 21) and an obstructive azoospermia group (n = 28), and another 30 fertile males were included as normal controls. Semen plasma alpha-glycosidase, leucocyte count, sexual hormone levels and the diameters of the epididymal lumps were measured and their correlations were analyzed.
RESULTSalpha-Glycosidase in the obstructive azoospermia group was significantly lower than that of the other groups (P <0.05), and negatively correlated with epididymal volume (r = -0.417, P <0.05) and leucocyte count (r = -0.342, P <0.05).
CONCLUSIONAlpha-Glycosidase has been proved of diagnostic value for epididymal obstructive azoospermia.
