Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology 2010;26(4):659-661
Objective To compare the value of speckle-tracking imaging and tissue Doppler strain imaging in evaluating left atrial (LA) mechanical contraction. Methods Forty patients after successful percutaneous atrial septal defect (ASD) closure were enrolled in this study. Two-dimensional strain imaging (2D strain echocardiography, 2DSE) and tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) were performed one weak after ASD closure. Off-line analysis was done for atrial longitudinal peak systolic strain on the interatrial septum, in correspondence of the device, and on the lateral wall of the left atrium from apical 4 chamber view with 2DSE and color-coded strain imaging, respectively. Results There was no statistical difference of the inter- and intra-observer viability as well as time consumption on the off-line analysis between 2DSE and TDI. LA lateral wall strain was much higher than that of LA septum assessed by both color-coded strain imaging (47.31%±27.25% vs 30.06%±14.29%, P<0.01) and 2DSE (43.49%±25.55% vs 12.74%±9.16%, P<0.001). LA lateral wall strain was similar with either method (P=NS). However, at the site of ASD occluder, a non-contractile element, deformation was significantly higher in color-coded strain imaging than 2DSE (P<0.001). Five patients (12.50%) presented absence of deformation on ASD occluder with 2DSE, whereas there was no patient with TDI assessment (χ~2=5.33, P=0.027). Conclusion Speckle-tracking imaging is superior to tissue Doppler strain imaging in assessing left atrium mechanical function.

Objective To explore a new method which could detect the misplacement of peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC).Methods The action of coughing was applied to 252 patients and observing the changes in dripping speed. Results The accuracy rate of this new method was 100.00% (252/252).The success rate of first PICC in these patients was also 100.00% (252/252).Conclusions It suggests that the new method Should be effective and convenient in the assessment of PICC misplacement and it can be applied to detect the misplacement occurred in and after the process of PICC.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2014;30(7):486-488
By means of comparative analysis and literature review, the paper identified differences of private non-profit hospitals at home and abroad in terms of their historical background,fund-raising,tax-free qualification, and governance structure. On such basis,an analysis was made on the development paths of such hospitals in China, for theoretical references and decision support for their development.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2013;(1):33-37
Objective To investigate the association between arsenic(+3 oxidation state) methyltransferase (AS3MT) genetic polymorphism and susceptibility to endemic arsenism. Methods Polymerase chain reactionrestriction fragment length polymorphism-single strand conformation polymorphism(PCR-RFLP-SSCP) technology was performed to detect mutations of AS3MT gene intron 8 and exon 9 in genome DNA of the 79 cases and 110 controls.PCR products with abnormal band forms were further sequenced to find the types and sites of mutation.Chi-square test and multivariate Logistic analyses were conducted. Results The incidence of the 9149 base mutation(A→C) in AS3MT gene intron 8(AS3MT-9149) in case group(19.0%,15/79) was lower than that in control group (23.6%,26/110).The incidence of the codon 287 mutation(ATG→AT/CG) in AS3MT gene exon 9(AS3MT-287)in case group(10.1%,8/79) was lower than that in control group (11.8%,13/110).However,statistical analysis indicated no significant difference in both mutations between two groups[AS3MT-9149:odds ratio(OR) =0.59,95% confidence interval(CI):0.26-1.31,P =0.195; AS3MT-287:OR =0.85,95% CI:0.32-230,P =0.751].Conclusions There are no significant association between the genetic polymorphisms of AS3MT-9149,AS3MT-287 and the susceptibility to endemic arsenism.Similarly, due to small sample amount,we can not exclude the possibility that these gene polymorphisms are related to susceptibility to endemic arsenism.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2016;32(2):285-288
40 cases(control group)with aggressive periodontitis (AgP)received scaling and root planning (SRP)and 38 cases(test group)received SRP followed by oral administration of amoxicillin plus metronidazole for 7 d.Gingival crevicular fluid samples were exam-ined for the levels of MMP-1,MMP-8 and tissue TIMP-1 by ELISA before therapy,3 and 6 months after therapy,TIMP-1 /MMP-1 and TIMP-1 /MMP-8 ratios were calculated. The levels of MMP-1 and MMP-8 were decreased in both groups (P <0.05)at 3 and 6 months after therapy.TIMP-1 /MMP-1 and TIMP-1 /MMP-8 ratios were increased in the 2 groups(P <0.05)after treatment,3 months after therapy the ratio in test group was higher than that in control group(P <0.05).

Objective To describe the characteristics of the criss-cross heart with comprehensively segmental echocardiographic scanning in order to explore the diagnostic value of the echocardiography. Methods Ten cases of criss-cross heart were retrospectively reviewed with 2-dimensional,color Doppler echocardiography to summarize the main diagnostic methods. Results The right ventricle was located superiorly and the left ventricle inferiorly in 9 patients and paralleled alignment in 1.The solitus situs was observed in 9 patients and dextrocardia in 1;the atrioventricular connections were concordant in 8 patients and discordant in 2.Echocardiography revealed that 5 patients presented with transposition of great artery and 5 with double outlet of right ventricle as well as all with ventricular septum defect. Conclusions Clear visualization is available with echocardiography to show the crossing inflow streams at the level of atrial-ventricular valve, abnormal alignment of the ventricular septum as well as the associated abnormalities.

Objective:To compare the taxol content in different parts of Taxus madia and Taxus chinensis var. mairei to provide reference for the future researches. Methods:The active ingredients were extracted by a mixed solvent (50% acetone and 50% ethyl acetate) , the target compound taxol was separated by a neutral Al2 O3 solid phase column, and then the taxol content was analyzed and compared among the different parts of Taxus madia and Taxus chinensis var. mairei by HPLC. Results:Taxol in velamen of Taxus ma-dia had the highest content among all the samples, which was 0. 0439% and 88 times as high as that in the bark of Taxus chinensis var. mairei. Conclusion:Among all the samples of Taxus madia and Taxus chinensis var. mairei, velamen of Taxus madia has the highest taxol content.
