Objective:To develop a novelty retrieval management system to meet actual demands of military medical sci-tech novelty retrieval. Methods:Delphi 7.0, Access 2000 and SQL Server 2000 were employed as the developmental platform to realize the system functions.Results and Conclusion:The military medical sci-tech novelty retrieval management system can exercise overall management and improve the quality and efficiency of novelty retrieval, which will provide information and decision assistance for management of medical researches.

Objective To evaluate the prognostic factors in locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) for selectively carrying out prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI).Methods 114 patients with LA-NSCLC between Jun 2006 and Oct 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. Related risk factors and features about brain metastases were analyzed.Results The 2-year incidence rate of brain metastases was 31.58 ％ (36/114),the first brain metastases was 20.18 ％ (23/114),and sole brain metastases was 9.65 ％(11/114),respectively.Variables involved in the equation of binary logistic regression analysis were pathology (OR =5.892) and treatment mode(OR =2.888).The incidence rate of brain metastases in patients of non-squamous carcinoma and single treatment mode was higher than others (P ＜ 0.01) Model fitting is better (P ＞ 0.05).Overall accuracy rate of predicting brain metastases is 67.7 ％.The increased rate of lactate dehydrogenase in the patients with brain metastases or death was 17.54 ％, which was higher than that in the survival patients without brain metastases (P ＜ 0.01).At the same time,the station number and the number of mediastinal lymph node metastases were positively correlated (r =0.716, P ＜ 0.01).The incidence rate of brain metastases or mortality rate was higher in the adenocarcinoma cases than that in the squamous carcinoma cases (P ＜ 0.01,P ＜ 0.05),with more frequent occurrence of mediastinal metastases.The mean diameter of squamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were 5.8 cm and 3.9 cm, respectively (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions The incidence rate of brain metastases was higher in patients with single treatment.Large primary tumors, high lactate dehydrogenase, non-squamous carcinoma, multiple stations, and multiple mediastinal lymph nodes metastases can be regarded as risk factors of brain metastases to perform PCI.

Objective To investigate the correlation between apolipoprotein E (APOE) polymorphisms and expression of p38MAPK of injured astrocytes in the early stage.Methods Scratch injury to astrocytes of three different alleles of APOE (ε2,ε3,andε4) was induced.RT-PCR and Western-blot were applied to detect dynamic changes of intracellular p38MAPK before injury and at 12,24,48,and 72 hours postinjury.Results Expression of p38MAPK in APOEε2,ε3,andε4 astrocytes increased gradually over time,whereas before and 12-hour after injury,the difference was insignificant in pair comparison (P ＞ 0.05).p38MAPK in APOEε2,ε3,andε4 astrocytes revealed progressive up-regulation at 24,48,and 72 hours postinjury,but the expression in APOEε4 astrocytes was the highest (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion In the early period of injury,highly expressed p38MAPK in APOEε4 astrocytes indicates a more active p38MAPK-induced inflammatory response in APOEε4 carriers which may contribute to acute exacerbation and poor outcome.

Objective To investigate the supply of iodized salt in non-excessive iodine counties and iodine-free salt in excessive iodine counties at household level in Jiangsu Province so as to provide a basis for the prevention and control of iodine deficiency disorders(IDD).Methods According to the National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Monitoring Program(Trial),county(city,district) was taken as a elementary sampling unit in Jiangsu Province.Townships(towns) and administrative villages were selected by systematic sampling and random sampling in every county and households were chosen by random sampling to collect their edible salt samples.The salt iodine content in non-and excessive iodine regions was detected by direct titration method and semi-quantitative method,respectively.Results All 30 840 salt samples were collected from 106 non-excessive iodine counties,and qualified iodized salt was 30 303 copies,iodine-free salt 199 copies.Weighted by the population of counties,the rate of iodine-free salt was 0.71％,the coverage rate of iodized salt accounted for 99.29％,out of which,98.93％ was qualified and the consuming rate of qualified iodized salt was 98.23％.All 1296 salt samples were collected in 5 counties with excessive water iodine content and the coverage rate of iodine-free salt was 98.99％ (1283/1295).Conclusions The national targets for preliminary elimination of IDD have been achieved in regions of nonexcessive and excessive iodine of Jiangsu Province.But it still should be strengthen the management work of iodinefree salt in excessive iodine counties and iodine saft in non-excessive iodine counties.

Objective To explore the correlation between the expression of somatostatin (SS), gastrin (GAS), apoptosis index (AI),and p53 gene in colonic carcinoma. Methods The expression of GAS, SS, p53 and apoptosis cell were detected by immunohistochemistry (streptavidin-biotin-pero xidase complex, SABC) and in situ apoptosis detecting technic (TUNEL) . Objective To use the nested PCR technology to diagnose and identify a case of imported Plasmodium ovale wallikeri subspecies .Methods Blood sample was collected from 1 case of initially diagnosed imported tertian malaria and performed the ex‐amination of microscopy ,rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) and nested‐PCR .Moreover the sequencing was conduced .Results RDTs showed the negative result ;the ring form and trophozoite of Plasmodium could be observed in the blood smear by microscopy ;the Plasmodium ovale wallikeri subspecies specific primer rOVA 1v/rOVA2v was adopted for conducting nested PCR ,the specicific am‐plification band appeared at 760 bp ,after sequencing and Blast aligning ,its coincidence with the partial sequence of Plasmodium ovale wallikeri subspecies in the Genbank database was 99% .Conclusion This patient is the first case of Plasmodium ovale wallik‐eri subspecies infection in Hubei province by nested PCR and sequencing analysis .

Objective To investigate the state of endemic fluorosis, running status of water improvement project to reduce fluoride in Jiangsu province, and to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of endemic fluorosis. Methods In 2008, in the ten key counties of endemic fluorosis (zone), in Xuzhou,Lianyungang and Suqian, a stratified sampling method was employed to select 40 diseased villages according to their past water fluoride survey data. All children aged 8 to 12 were examined dental fluorosis, and all adults over 16 years were examined clinical skeletal fluorosis. Thirty per cent of the 40 diseased villages were selected, and 20 adults over the age of 16 in each selected village were examined by X-ray, respectively;50% of the 40 diseased villages were selected, and 30 any time urine samples of children aged 8 to 12 in each diseased village were tested urine fluoride. In each city, select a county, the status of water improvement project to reduce fluoride, water supply capacity and coverage in the county were investigated. Results A total of 3560 children aged 8 to 12 were examined, the detection rate of dental fluorosis was 38.51% (1371/3560), tooth defect rate was 5.34% (190/3560), and dental fluorosis index was 0.8. Seven hundred and eight urine samples were tested, the median urinary fluoride was 1.47 mg/L and the range was 0.08 ~ 10.08 mg/L. Clinical detection of skeletal fluorosis was 21.3% among adults over the age of 16, and X-ray detection rate of skeletal fluorosis was 39.2% (123/314).Investigated a total of 248 facilities of centralized water improvement projects, no funds to run or damaged 49, the water fluoride > 1.0 mg/L was 18. Conclusions Endemic fluorosis in Northern Jiangsu province has not been controlled completely, but has a rising trend, we should further strengthen the supervision of water fluoride reduction.
