Objective To explore different aspects of empathy in patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy and to study the effect of epileptiform discharges from different areas of the brain on empathy. Methods One hundred and fifty healthy controls and 62 patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy were administered with a neuropsychological battery for basic cognitive assessment and an empathy scale after 24-hour electroencephalography monitoring. Results Compared with healthy controls, patients with epilepsy obtained significantly lower total scores and the cognitive empathy scores including perspectivetaking and fantasy subscale of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index-China (46.39 ± 9.74 vs 50.99 ± 9.97,t =-2.893,P=0.004; 23.31 ±7.10 vs 27.24 ±6.22,t =-3.974,P =0.000; 10.18 ±4.21 vs 11.84 ± 3.67,t =-2.838,P =0.005 ; 13.13 ± 4.46 vs 15.40 ± 3.84,t =-3.698,P =0.000,respectively).In contrast, the individuals with epilepsy did not score significantly different on the affective empathy, empathic concern and personal distress (P > 0.05,respectively).Patients with frontal epileptiform discharges suffered the most on the total empathy scores, cognitive empathy and perspective-taking subscale when compared with other three groups of individuals (P <0.05,respectively),whereas the groups did not differ from each other in affective empathy, empathic concern and personal distress (P >0.05,respectively).No correlation was found between the empathy ability and other cognitive neuropsychological tests. Conclusions Patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy is not associated with a general empathy deficit, but rather with a dissociated pattern combining impaired cognitive empathy and preserved affective one, which leads to a double-dissociation,supports the notion that affective and cognitive empathies are two distinct abilities. The activation of epileptiform discharges from the frontal lobe is a key factor that could diminish the empathy ability.

Radiomics is a new area of research, which converts imaging data into high?resolution quantitative imaging features by applying the automatic high?throughput imaging?feature?extraction algorithm. With the development of data science, more and more attention has been paid to the non?invasive and quantitative method in precision radiotherapy all over the world. This paper will briefly introduce the concept of radiomics and its application in precision radiotherapy.

Objective To understand the capacity of application, and discuss the types as well as the mechanism of these dysfunctions. Methods A battery of neuropsychological tests including tool naming, tool naming by function, using of transitive tools, novel task test and naming photographs (living and inanimate) were applied in this study.20 AD patients and 20 healthy controls were enrolled in the study. Results The AD patients performed worse than the controls on the tool naming, tool naming by function, application of transitive tool, novel task test, naming tasks of living and inanimate pictures. The results represented significance in all of the tests (t =-6.54,-5.94,-4.16,-4.81,-2.17,-2.08 ; P < 0.05).There were significant correlations between the performances in application the tasks and the ADAS-cog,MMSE and ADL scores (P < 0.05).Conclusion The findings indicate that AD patients have apraxia, mainly impairment in ideomotor apraxia and ideational apraxia.Additionally, the patients have significantly decreased performance in ideational apraxia. The result suggests that AD patients' apraxia might result from the semantic processing disorder.

Objective To investigate the effects of acupuncture at bilateral ST36 (Zusanli) on attention networks in healthy subjects. Methods The attention network test was used to compare the effects of after acupuncture at ST36 with the effects of before acupuncture on the efficiency of three anatomically defined attention networks:alerting, orienting, and executive control in 40 health university students. Results The alerting network effect was significantly higher (t=4.125,P<0.001) after acupuncture ((45.60±3.49) ms) than before acupuncture ((33.20±2.88) ms).The executive control network efficiency was significantly higher (t=2.638,P<0.05) after acupuncture ((87.97±4.21) ms) than before acupuncture ((97.67±4.66) ms).The orienting network efficiency was higher after acupuncture than before acupuncture, but there was no significant difference (P>0.05).The average reaction time was significantly lower (t=4.848,P<0.001) after acupuncture ((559.13 ± 10.66) ms) than before acupuncture ((590.57±12.80) ms). Conclusions These results suggest that there are selective enhancements of the alerting and executive control networks after acupuncture, while the orienting network is spared.

Objective To investigate the effects of dopaminergic medication on decision-making un-der ambiguity in patients with early Parkinson's disease( PD) . Methods Using Iowa Gambling Task ( IGT) for 24 early non-medication idiopathic PD patients( Hoehn and Yahr Scale≤Ⅱlevel) ,24 early idiopathic PD patients with regular dopaminergic medication and also for 24 healthy controls( HC) whose age, gender, and education match to PD patients to test their ability of decision-making under ambiguity. Results The results showed non-medication PD group showed impairments on digtal span and verbal fluency and decision-making task. There was significant difference in IGT task scores among the three groups(F=6.024, P=0.004) . The total net scores of advantageous choices in IGT were significantly lower in non-medication PD group( (-4.50 ±22.19) scores) than medication PD group((8.83±23.24)scores) and healthy group((15.92±15.77) scores) . The difference of net scores in block1 to block5 between non-medication PD group and medication PD group was gradually increased, and the difference of net scores in block5 was significant(P<0.05) . There was no significant difference in total net scores and net scores in block1 to block5 between medication PD group and healthy group(P>0.05) . As the game processing, medication PD group gradually shifted their se-lections toward the advantageous choices. But non-medication group did not exhibit this shift pattern and the performance was much poorer. Meanwhile, the study also indicated the total net scores of advantageous choices for non-medication PD group was positive correlation to the MoCA scores ( r=0.614, P=0.001). Conclusion The present study has shown that non-medication PD group has impairment in decision-making under ambiguity risk condition and prefer to choose risky options. when exogenous complement dopaminergic medication, the risk decision-making ability of medication PD group has been improved.
