Objective To evaluate the classification and treatment methods of hand degloving in-juries.Methods Individualized treatment was adopted according to area and depth of degloving inju-ries.The injury was repaired from deep to shallow layer.New techniques such as segment blood vessel re-pair, alternative debridement, local fixation and suturing, local pressure bandaging and sporadic drainageof incision were applied.Results All 76 patients were followed up for 3-48 months, which showed that75 patients were cured, with good shapes of the skins and strong rub resistance.Conclusion Classifi-cation of hand degloving injuries simplifies diagnosis, as facilitates the individulized treatment.Five new techniques mentioned above may help solve the problems encountered during operation.Individulized treatment explores new ways for the treatment of hand degloving injuries.

Objective To summarize the clinical experiences in microsurgical treatment of severe children hand injuries caused by firecrackers. Methods 26 cases of children hand injuries caused by a firecracker blast were treated with microsurgical procedures. An emergency operation was done for 23 cases, and a delayed repair was done for 3 cases. Operative procedures differed from case to case, according to the injury type. Results All flaps and reconstructed thumbs survived completely by first intention. Of the 9 cases with 11 fingers replanted, 7cases with 9 fingers survived. The follow up for over two years showed that satisfactory restoration of hand function and shape was achieved and the replanted fingers also showed satisfactory restoration of holding and finger to palm and finger to finger functions. Conclusion Severe children hand injuries caused by a firecracker blast must be treated as soon as possible with microsurgical procedures. Preoperative planning of a proper repair or reconstruction approach is also of great importance.

ObjectiveTo establish nude mouse tumor models bearing human pancreatic adenocarcinoma SW1990 cells in multiple sites at different time-points and investigate the feasibiilty of multiple tumor-bearing in these models; then the findings and detection rate of 3.0T magnetic resonance image (MRI) in subcutaneous transplanted tumors was analyzed. Methods A total of 6 BALB/C nude mice were randomized into 3 groups (2 mice per group ).At the 1st,8th,15th day,the mice were injected subcutaneously with the suspension of SW1990 cells at left axilla and right axilla and right groin in sequence.Three weeks later,all the bearing-tumor mice were performed with MRI non-contrast enhanced scanning plus Gd-DTPA enhanced scan and the subcutaneous masses were subjected to pathological analysis.ResultsAll the 6 nude mice were alive during the study and obvious mass was observed in every injected site.The tumor size was positively associated with the grwing time.There were 9 tumors which could be de.ted by noncontrast enhanced MRI scanning and one more tumor was detected by contrast enhanced scanning.2 tumors were not detected,the 2 tumors were located at subcutaneous of right groin,with the shortest growing time,and the major axis of the 2 un-detected tumors was less than 5mm.Despite the MRI findings of the transplanted masses similar to that of human pancreatic adenocarcinoma with bleeding,necrosis,they presented the characteristics of a clear rim,with pseudocapeule sign.All the 12 masses were similar with human pancreatic adenocarcinoma under light microscope.ConclusionsIt is feasible to transplant human pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell at three different subcutaneous sites (injected at three different points of time) in the nude mouse,with a minimal survival time of three weeks.However,routine 3.0T MRI cannot detect the early tumors (growing time within 1 week,major axis ＜5 mm).

Objective To develop a set of health status questionnaire in line with health management demands for different physical examination reeeivers. Methods Based on literature review and clinical practice, sleep, pain, anxiety, depression, stress, fatigue, habits and social adaptation could be used as health items. An item database was set according to domestic or abroad established questionnaires. The items were screened to constitute our health status questionnaire. A total of 2866 individuals were randomly chosen to get the reliability or validity test. Results The correlation coefficient of single item with total score was 0.361-0.683. The Cronbach'α of sub-scales was ≥ 0.945, the retested reliability coefficient of was ≥ 0.677, and split-half reliability coefficient was ≥0.835. Eight factors in exploratory factor analysis explained 69.37% of total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis showed high degree of fitting. Conclusion Our health status questionnaire has higher reliability and validity and can be used for health data collection.

Objective: To investigate the hemodynamic changes of ophthalmic artery(OA) and central retinal artery(CRA) in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG) and the effects of intraocular pressure(IOP) on retrobulbar hemodynamics. Satellite cells, as the major stem cells, are responsible for postnatal skeletal muscle growth, regeneration and maintenance. As a result, satellite cells have great potential as therapeutic agents. Activation of satellite cells in vivo is a key link in the muscle regeneration processes. And their replenishment is necessary to keep the capacity of skeletal muscle to regenerate after recurrence of muscle damage. Cellular and molecular regulation of activation and replenishment for satellite cells issues were reviewed. Hoping through the points of nitric oxide-hepatocyte growth factor (NO-HGF), myostatin and Notch signaling and the niche of satellite cells to overcome the recent obstruction in cell therapy in clinic myopathy, such as Duchenne muscle destrophy.

To evaluate the prevalence and incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD) and associated risk factors with CHD in the elderly, a survey was conducted among old subjects aged 60 to 90 who had health examination in PLA General Hospital from 1996 to 1997. A cohort population without CHD had been followed up until 2000, and the incidence of CHD was calculated as the baseline. The incidence of CHD was calculated by person year method. The risk factors of incidence in CHD of different groups were analyzed with multiple logistic regression at the end of four observation years. In this paper, we described that using wistar rat rather than Lewis rat, an animal model ofexperimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) was established. 12 out of 17 rats showedtypical clinical syndroms and pathological changes, and also developed significant delayed-typeskin hypersen-sitivity reaction to the pathogenic antigen-homogenate of guinea pig spinal cord.The cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that the T-cells of EAE rats can specifically lyse the braintissue of normal rats with specific release rate of 15.1l?t 2.79% which is positive correlativewith clinical severity of EAE. The T cell vaccine was prepared by activating EAE T-cells withConA and then treating with glutaraldehyde. Normal rats were inoculated with this T cell vac-cine and challenged with pathogenic antigen one week later. The result showed that all seven ratsgot complete resistance to EAE. T cells from vaccinated animals can specifically lyse the EAE Tcells with specific release rate of 9.38?1.68%.These results indicated: (a)wistar rat can be used for EAE animal model; (b)The incidence ofEAE is associa ted with the auto-reactive T cellsof EAE animals; (c)Inocula tion of this T cellvaccines can prevent the development of EAE, and this protective effect is also mediated by Tcells.
