Objective:To explore high-risk sexual behaviors of HIV/AIDS and related factors in young students in Guangzhou. Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 5 different types of Guangzhou colleges by convenience sampling with minimum number of classes per grade and 600 samples per school from September to November 2021. The R 4.2.2 software was used to consolidate databases. Simultaneously, a logistic regression model and a decision tree algorithm model, stratifying by whether sexual behaviors had occurred before, were constructed. In each layer, the prediction performance of the two models was evaluated through area under receiver operating characteristic and the confusion matrix, and then the model with high prediction performance was retained. Results:A total of 7 346 students were surveyed. The proportion of the respondents reporting sexual experience were 9.08% (667/7 346), in whom 26.24% (175/667) had risky sexual activity in the past year. The decision tree algorithm model performs well in predicting whether high-risk sexual behaviors have occurred in the past year. When the complexity parameter value is 0.018, and nsplit reaches 4, which means there are 5 leaf nodes in the model, the cross error of the tree will be the smallest. The first best grouping variable in the decision tree was whether to use condoms throughout the first sexual behavior. If condoms were used at their sexual debut, but homosexual practices have occurred in the past year, the probability of risky sexual behavior will increase. If homosexual practices have not occurred in the past year, but the age of sexual debut was below 18 years old while the period of HIV education was after high school, the probability of risk sexual behavior will also increase.Conclusions:AIDS-related risky behaviors of young students still deserved attention. The experience of sexual debut and whether AIDS-related health education has been received before the sexual debut were significant predictors for the occurrence of high-risk sexual behavior. The decision tree algorithm model has particular applicability for predicting and screening potential risk populations.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of parasitic infections in market-sold aquatic products in Shanghai Municipality, and to understand the knowledge and practice towards food-borne parasitic diseases among residents, so as to provide insights into the surveillance and control of food-borne parasitic diseases. Methods Freshwater products, seawater products and pickled products were randomly obtained from agricultural trade markets, supermarkets, retail stores and restaurants in Huangpu, Putuo, Minhang and Qingpu districts of Shanghai Municipality from 2020 to 2023. Parasite metacercariae and larvae were detected in these aquatic products using pressing method, digestion method and the dissection method, and the detection of parasitic infection was compared in different types of aquatic products. In addition, the knowledge and practice towards food-borne parasitic diseases were investigated among residents aged 10-80 years old who randomly selected from agricultural trade markets, supermarkets, community streets and other population concentration areas in these four districts by questionnaire in 2023, and the awareness of food-borne parasitic diseases knowledge and percentage of healthy behaviors formation were analyzed. Results A total of 2 109 aquatic products sampled from Huangpu, Putuo, Minhang and Qingpu districts of Shanghai Municipality from 2020 to 2023 were detected, and there were 317 products detected with parasitic infections, with an overall detection rate of 15.03%. There were 8 products detected with parasitic infections in 1 221 freshwater products, with a detection rate of 0.66%, and Clonorchis sinensis was the predominant parasite, which was detected in Pseudorasbora parva, Rhodeus amarus and Carassius auratus. There were 82 products detected with parasitic infections in 501 seawater products, with a detection rate of 16.37%, and Anisakis was the predominant parasite, which was detected in Trichiurus lepturus, Larimichthys polyactis, Pneumatophorus japonicus, Collchthys lucidus, Mugil cephalus, Larimichthys crocea, Scomberomorus niphonius, Stromateoides argenteus and Cololabis saira. There were 227 products detected with parasitic infections in 387 pickled products, with a detection rate of 58.66%, and the prevalence rates of Echinostoma metacercariae were 76.27% (225/295) in Bullacta exarata and 11.11% (2/18) in crab pastes, respectively (χ2 = 159.511, P < 0.05). No Paragonimus infection was found in freshwater shrimps, crabs and pickled products, and no Diphyllobothrium latum larvae infection was detected in freshwater and seawater fish. Questionnaire surveys showed that the awareness of food-borne parasitic diseases knowledge was 79.00% (222/281), and the percentages of washing hands before and after meals, not drinking filtered water or tap water directly, not eating raw or semi-raw food, being willing to change special dietary preferences or bad living habits for health, and being willing to learn more about food-borne parasitic diseases knowledge were 99.64% (280/281), 72.24% (203/281), 56.23% (158/281), 96.80% (272/281) and 97.51% (274/281) among residents living in Huangpu, Putuo, Minhang and Qingpu districts, respectively. Conclusions There are food-borne parasite contaminations in market-sold aquatic products in Shanghai Municipality. Although residents are aware of food-borne parasitic diseases knowledge, sustainable surveillance of food-borne parasitic diseases and improved health education are required to minimize the risk of human parasitic infections.

Inhibiting the death receptor 3(DR3)signaling pathway in group 3 innate lymphoid cells(ILC3s)pre-sents a promising approach for promoting mucosal repair in individuals with ulcerative colitis(UC).Paeoniflorin,a prominent component of Paeonia lactiflora Pall.,has demonstrated the ability to restore barrier function in UC mice, but the precise mechanism remains unclear. In this study,we aimed to delve into whether paeoniflorin may promote intestinal mucosal repair in chronic colitis by inhibiting DR3 signaling in ILC3s.C57BL/6 mice were subjected to random allocation into 7 distinct groups, namely the control group, the 2%dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)group, the paeoniflorin groups(25,50,and 100 mg/kg),the anti-tumor necrosis factor-like ligand 1A(anti-TL1A)antibody group, and the IgG group. We detected the expression of DR3 signaling pathway proteins and the proportion of ILC3s in the mouse colon using Western blot and flow cytometry,respectively.Meanwhile,DR3-overexpressing MNK-3 cells and 2% DSS-induced Rag1-/-mice were used for verification. The results showed that paeoniflorin alleviated DSS-induced chronic colitis and repaired the intestinal mucosal barrier.Simultaneously, paeoniflorin inhibited the DR3 signaling pathway in ILC3s and regulated the content of cytokines(interleukin-17A,granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor, and interleukin-22).Alternatively,paeoniflorin directly inhibited the DR3 signaling pathway in ILC3s to repair mucosal damage indepen-dently of the adaptive immune system. We additionally confirmed that paeoniflorin-conditioned me-dium(CM)restored the expression of tight junctions in Caco-2 cells via coculture. In conclusion, paeoniflorin ameliorates chronic colitis by enhancing the intestinal barrier in an ILC3-dependent manner, and its mechanism is associated with the inhibition of the DR3 signaling pathway.

Functionalized nanomaterials combined and immobilized with recognition elements to construct biosensing interfaces are the core aspects of biosensor detection. By interfacially modifying functionalized nanomaterials with different properties, structures and morphologies, the application scope of nanomaterials can be expanded, such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), layered double hydroxides (LDHs), noble metal particles, magnetic materials, covalent organic frameworks (COFs), carbon-group materials, and conductive polymers. Based on these novel nanomaterials, a variety of biosensors with excellent performance have been developed. In this review paper, the types of functionalized nanocomposites and their progress in the application of constructed biosensors were summerized.

Objective:To investigate the risk perception for risky behavior of HIV/AIDS infection among young students and to analyze the related influencing factors. Methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 5 different types of Guangzhou colleges from September to November 2021, in which convenience sampling and a minimum number of classes per grade and 600 samples per school were used according to the national unity program. Disordered multi-classification logistic regression was used to construct a risk perception model and analyze influencing factors in different risk perception levels. Results:A total of 7 346 young students were surveyed, and most rated themselves at low risk of HIV/AIDS infections (90.58%, 6 654/7 346). A total of 89.10% (6 545/7 346) of subjects' perception of their HIV/AIDS infection risk was consistent with their risk behavior, while 10.90% (801/7 346) was inconsistent. Among those inconsistent subjects, 19.10% (153/801) showed underestimating their risk , while 80.90% (648/801) seen overestimating their risk. Disordered multi-classification logistic regression analysis showed that, after controlling for other factors, compared with the non-sexual group, respondents whose first sex age under 18 had a higher rate of underestimating their risk of infection ( OR=129.39, 95% CI: 73.28-228.48), as well as a higher rate of overestimated their risk of infection ( OR=1.76, 95% CI: 1.04-2.99). First sexual intercourse at age 18 or older was a risk factor for underestimating risk ( OR=70.56, 95% CI: 42.72-116.53), but was not statistically associated with overestimating risk. Being female, other school type, non-heterosexual orientation, and self-rated HIV-related knowledge as fair or no knowledge were risk factors for overestimating risk but were not statistically associated with underestimating risk. Conclusions:Overall, young students in universities of Guangzhou have a good risk perception of HIV/AIDS infection. Individual factors, education factors and sexual experience will influence students' risk perception of HIV/AIDS infection. Raising the awareness rate of HIV/AIDS knowledge and delaying the age of first sexual intercourse will improve the risk perception ability of young students.

Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effect of miR-497 on the corneal epithelial healing in diabetic mice and its possible mechanism. Methods:Forty healthy clean-grade wild-type C57BL/J6 mice were randomly divided into a blank control group and a model control group, with 20 mice in each group.Another 20 CRISPR/Cas9-mediated miR-497 knockout mice and miR-497 overexpression mice were taken as miR-497 knockout and miR-497 overexpression groups, respectively. The diabetes model was constructed by continuous intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ) to the mice in model control, miR-497 knockout and miR-497 overexpression groups, and the mice in blank control group were injected with an equal amount of citrate buffer, followed by 8-week normal feeding. After the establishment of diabetes model, the corneal epithelial injury model was further constructed by scraping off part of the corneal epithelium with a central diameter of 2 mm.The corneal epithelial defect area of mice in 0, 12, 24 and 36 hours after corneal epithelial injury was observed by corneal fluorescein sodium staining. The expression of Wnt3a and β-catenin proteins in mice corneal tissues was detected by Western blot. The expression of miR-497 as well as the mRNA expression levels of cell proliferation-associated factor genes CyclinD1, c-Myc, and Ki-67 mRNA was detected by real-time quantitative fluorescence PCR.The targeting relationship between miR-497 and wnt3a was detected by a dual luciferase reporter gene assay.Human corneal epithelial cells (HCEC) were cultured in vitro and transfected with miR-497 mimics, miR-497 mimics negative control, miR-497 inhibitor, and miR-497 inhibitor negative control by Lipo8000 as miR-497 mimics group, mimics negative control group, miR-497 inhibitor group, andmiR-497 inhibitor negative control group, respectively, all of which were cultured in high glucose medium containing 25% glucose.Another two groups of HCEC were taken and cultured in medium containing 5% and 25% glucose as control and high glucose groups, respectively. The cell proliferation viability was determined by CCK8 method. The use and care of animals complied ith the ARVO statement. The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University (2019K-K010). Results:Eight weeks after STZ injection, the blood glucose of mice was significantly higher and the weight was significantly lower in each diabetic model group than those of blank control group (all at P<0.05). At 12, 24 and 36 hours after the corneal epithelial injury, the percentages of corneal epithelial defect area observed by slit-lamp microscopy in model control group were significantly higher than those in blank control group and miR-497 knockout group and lower than those in miR-497 overexpression group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). The relative expressions of wnt3a and β-catenin proteins in the corneal tissues of model control group were significantly lower than those of blank control group and miR-497 knockout group, but higher than those of miR-497 overexpression group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). The relative expressions of CyclinD1, c-Myc and Ki-67 mRNA in model control group were lower than those in miR-497 knockout group, but higher than those in miR-497 overexpression group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). The relative expression of miR-497 in model control group, miR-497 knockout group and miR-497 overexpression group was 1.00±0.02, 0.63±0.06 and 1.48±0.03, respectively, with a statistically significant difference ( F=19.62, P<0.01). The luciferase activity of miR-497-5p mimics group in wild-type wnt3a transfected cells was lower than that of miR-497-5p negative control group and empty vector group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05). In the mutant wnt3a transfected cells, there was no significant difference in the luciferase activity among various groups ( F=0.73, P=0.59). The cell proliferation A value of high glucose group was 0.59±0.03, which was significantly lower than 0.59±0.03 of normal control group and 0.88±0.08 of miR-497 inhibitor group, but significantly higher than 0.48±0.11 of miR-497 mimics group (all at P<0.05). Conclusions:The silencing of miR-497 may promote the repair of diabetic corneal epithelial defects by targeting wnt/β-catenin pathway.

Korean Journal of Radiology 2022;23(2):218-225
Objective:
This study aimed to explore the feasibility of functional evaluation of the lateral pterygoid muscle (LPM) using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in patients with temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs).
Materials and Methods:
A total of 119 patients with TMD (23 male and 96 female; mean age ± standard deviation, 41 ± 15 years; 58 bilateral and 61 unilateral involvements for a total of 177 joints) and 20 healthy volunteers (9 male and 11 female;40 ± 13 years; 40 joints) were included in this prospective study. Based on DTI of the jaw in the resting state, the diffusion parameters, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), fractional anisotropy (FA), λ1, λ2, and λ3 of the superior and inferior heads of the LPM (SHLPM and IHLPM) were measured. Patients with TMD with normal disc position (ND), anterior disc displacement with reduction (ADWR), and anterior disc displacement without reduction (ADWOR) were compared.
Results:
Patients with TMD overall, and ADWR and ADWOR subgroups had significantly higher ADC, λ1, λ2, and λ3 in both the SHLPM and IHLPM than those in volunteers (p < 0.05 for all), whereas the ND subgroup only had significantly higher ADC and λ1 (p < 0.001). Meanwhile, significant differences in FA in the SHLPM and IHLPM were found between volunteers and ADWOR (p = 0.014 and p = 0.037, respectively). Among the three TMD subgroups, except for λ3 and FA in the ADWR subgroup, ADWR and ADWOR subgroups had significantly higher ADC, λ1, λ2, and λ3 and lower FA than those in the ND group (p < 0.050). There was no significant difference in diffusion variables between ADWR and ADWOR. In ADWOR, the osteoarthritis group had significantly higher λ3 and lower FA values in the IHLPM than those in the non-osteoarthritis group.
Conclusion
DTI successfully detected functional changes in the LPM in patients with TMD. The unsynchronized diffusivity changes in the LPM in different subgroups of TMD signified the possibility of using diffusion parameters as indicators to identify the severity of LPM hyperfunction at various stages of TMD.
