[Objective]To analyze the clinical features of spinal fracture of the injured in Wenchuan Earthquake and to summarize the medical rescue.[Method]The clinical data of 94 injured cases with spinal fracture in the earthquake were collected and analyzed,including the general condition,injury mechanism,associated injuries and the rescue measures.[Result]The incident rate of the male was much higher than that of the female,the incidence of spinal fracture was high in 21~60-years old;the associated injuries were found in 54 cases,taking up 57.4%.The spinal fracture typing showed that 89 cases had flexion-compression fracture and burst fracture,taking up 94.7%.[Conclusion]Earthquakes cause a large amount of the injured with spinal fracture,who are evacuated within a concentrated time,the injuries are severe with many associated injuries.Scientific organization and reasonable division are critical in the immediate medical rescue of the injured in large quantity within the shortest time.

Objective To explore the role of fibrogenic cytokines and inflammatory cytokines in the pathogenesis of frozen shoulder. Methods From September, 2014 to April, 2016, 20 patients with frozen shoulder accepted arthroscopic surgery were included, ten of them were diagnosed as primary frozen shoulder (group A), the other ten were secondary frozen shoulder (group B). Other ten patients undergo-ing shoulder arthroscopy for instability (4 cases), rotator cuff injury (3 cases) and subacromial impingement (3 cases) were as the controls (group C). The mRNA levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 1, MMP3, tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1, IL-6, IL-8, granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and M-CSF in synovium were analyzed with quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results The expression of mRNA of MMP1, MMP3, TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, GM-CSF and M-CSF were more in group A and group B than in group C (P<0.05). AIM: To investigate the relationship between up-regulation of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) expression and activation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase ( ERK) pathways by TGF-β1 in human ovarian cancer cells .METHODS: PAI-1 expression in human ovarian cancer cells treated with TGF-β1 (10 μg/L)was assayed by real-time PCR and Western blotting.The activation of p38 MAPK and ERK was determined by Western blotting using phosphorylated p 38 MAPK and phosphorylated ERK antibodies . Specific p38 MAPK inhibitor (SB203580) or ERK inhibitor (PD98059) was used to inhibit their activation .RESULTS:TGF-β1 up-regulated the expression of PAI-1, and activated p38 MAPK and ERK pathways in the ovarian cancer cells .In-hibition of p38 MAPK activation by SB203580 resulted in significant inhibition of the mRNA expression of PAI-1 induced by TGF-β1.However, inhibition of ERK activation did not significantly alter TGF-β1-induced increase in PAI-1 mRNA level.CONCLUSION: TGF-β1-activated p38 MAPK pathway contributes to the up-regulation of PAI-1 expression by TGF-β1 in ovarian cancer cells .

Objective To prepare and characterize monoclonal antibody against a malaria vaccine candidate, PfCP-2.9 chimeric protein of Plasmodium falciparum. Methods BALB/c mice were immunized with PfCP-2.9,and the spleen cells were used for fusion with SP2/0 cells. The monoclonal antibodies were analyzed by ELISA,Western blotting as well as growth inhibition assay. Result A monoclonal antibody was obtained. It interacted with the PfCP-2.9 recombinant protein by ELISA and Western blotting. The interaction of the monoclonal antibody with the protein was reduction-sensitive,indicating that the antibody recognized a conformational epitope. Moreover,the antibody also recognized the cultured parasites of P.falciparum by indirect immunofluorescent antibody test(IFA). When tested by growth inhibition assay,the antibody significantly inhibited parasite growth in vitro of 56% inhibition rate at the antibody concentration of 0.3 mg/ml. Conclusion A monoclonal antibody against PfCP-2.9 malaria vaccine candidate has been obtained,which recognizes a conformational epitope of the protein and natural protein.
