Chinese Journal of Infection and Chemotherapy 2014;(5):429-431
Objective To evaluate the clinical utility of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) in serum and cerebrospinal fluid in the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis .Methods IFN-γlevels in serum and cerebrospinal fluid were analyzed by ELISA method in 25 patients with tuberculous meningitis ,31 patients with viral meningitis and 12 patients with suppurative meningitis .Results The IFN-γlevels in cerebrospinal fluid were significantly higher in the patients with tuberculous meningitis (386 .3 ± 83 .5) ng/L than in the patients with viral meningitis (63 .4 ± 16 .2) ng/L or the patients with suppurative meningitis (116 .8 ± 22 .6) ng/L (P<0 .01) .The overlap was very small .In contrast ,the serum IFN-γ levels were very similar among the three groups (P>0 .05) .The sensitivity ,specificity and accuracy of IFN-γ level in cerebrospinal fluid for diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis were 92 .0% ,95 .3% and 94 .1% ,respectively .Conclusions Measurement of IFN-γlevel in cerebrospinal fluid may be helpful for the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis .
2.Relationship between blood flow velocity of posterior cerebral artery and vertebrobasilar insufficiency during various head postures
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2006;10(38):166-167
BACKGROUND: Osteophyte caused by degenerative osteoarthropathy of the cervical vertebrae may compress the vertebral artery, resulting in vertebrobasilar insufficiency, especially when the patients' head postures change, making them adapt forced head position.OBJECTIVE: To investigate successively the relationship between the change of flow velocity of the posterior circulation and the symptom of vertebrobasilar insufficiency during various head postures with transcranial Doppler ultrasound.DESIGN: Randomized grouping controlled, auto-control observation.SETTING: Department of Neurology, Guangxi Minzu Hospital and Department of Neurology, First Hospital, Peking University.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 20 patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency and 10 normal persons were enrolled from Department of Neurology,Guangxi Minzu Hospital between March 2003 and May 2004.METHODS: Regard blood flow velocity in natural position of anterior segment of posterior cerebral artery as baseline values. Blood flow velocity was compared at left rotation, right rotation, anterior inflexion and posterior inflexion. Symptoms of vertebrobasilar insufficiency were observed. The data were collected and compared in individuals, within group, and between groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Blood flow velocity difference of various head postures in each group; Symptoms of vertebrobasilar insufficiency were observed.RESULTS:During monitoring, there were 9 cases complained of ischemic symptoms and 11 cases without symptoms. There was no significant difference in blood flow change of left rotation, right rotation and posterior inflexion in the normal control group with natural position. The reduction of flow velocity was significant in anterior inflexion (P < 0.05 ), and none appeared clinical symptom. There was significant difference in reduction of blood flow at anterior inflexion and at natural position in patients with symptom (P < 0.05), and there was significant difference in reduction of blood flow at posterior inflexion and natural position (P < 0.001 ). There was significant difference in reduction of blood flow at left rotation and posterior inflexion in those without symptom during monitoring as compared with that at natural position (P < 0.05 ).CONCLUSION: Continuously observing the blood flow in posterior cerebral artery at different head position can objectively assess the relationship between decrease of blood flow velocity of vertebral arteries induced by neck movements and clinical symptoms.

Objective:To detect expression level of miR-410 in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),and to expose the role of miR-410 and its target genes by bioinformatics methods. Methods:Expression level of miR-410 were detected by quantitative RT-PCR in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of SLE patients, and miR-410 sequence, its target genes and Genecards database were analyzed, and analysis of GO enrichment and KEGG Pathway was further performed.Results:miR-410 expression was significantly reduced in SLE patients, and its nucleotide sequence was highly conserved among species. These genes that were predicted to be regulated by miR-410 and associated with LE pathogenesis, included FASLG,CSF2,IFNAR2,MAPK1,PLCG2,IL4 and other genes.Analysis of GO enrichment revealed that miR-410's target genes were involved in cell growth, proliferation, programmed cell death, cell differentiation, immune system development and other biological activities.Analysis of KEGG Pathway showed that the target genes of miR-410 were significantly enriched in a series of signaling pathways including pathways in cancer,cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction,glioma,melanoma,TGF-β and JAK-STAT signaling pathway.Conclusion:miR-410 maybe directly regulate its target molecules, mediate various signal pathway networks, thus participate in the occurrence and development of SLE.

International Eye Science 2015;(2):378-380
AlM:To investigate the effect of peripheral vision control technology for delaying the development of juvenile myopia.METHODS:A total of ninty-nine cases of 12 ~18 year-old myopic patients were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group was peripheral vision control technology group whose members wore the special lenses which can help correct the hypermetropic defocus of peripheral retina. The other was control group whose members wore ordinary monofocal lenses. All the subjects needed to accept re-examination every 3mo and be recorded the data of dioptre, corneal curvature and axial length.RESULTS: After 18mo, the dioptre and axial length of two groups had increased in varying degree. But the data's different quantity of the corneal curvature in each group had no statistical significance ( P > 0. 05 ). Themyopia deepen quantity in experimental group was-0. 65±0. 65D and its axial growth was 0. 23±0. 22mm, and the myopia deepen quantity in control group was -1. 17 ± 0. 50D and its axial growth was 0. 41 ± 0. 17mm. Under the circumstance of valid data, the increment of myopia and axial length in experimental group was lower than that in control group (P<0. 05).CONCLUSlON: Peripheral vision control technology can delay the development of juvenile myopia effectively.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2011;10(1):50-51
Clinical data of 150 patients with mild and 38 patients with severe confirmed influenza A/H1N1 were collected and retrospectively analyzed in this paper with descriptive epidemiology. Mild patients mainly presented with symptoms similar to seasonal influenza with few complications, however, persistent high fever, cough with bloody sputum expectoration, chest distress and short of breath manifested in severe patients with respiratory failure and acute respiratory distress syndrome in some cases. Proportion of obesity and underlying diseases in severe patients, who were at high risk for severe influenza A/H1N1, was higher than that in mild ones (P<0. 05). Average course of the illness spanned five to 11 days in patient with mild influenza A/H1N1 with all cured, and 34 of severe cases discharged with better recovery and other four died with a case-fatality of 10. 5 percent.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(01):-
Both molecular weight 6000 and 1000 polyethylene glycol (PEG) have been used to induce thc fusion of hepatoma cell by two methods of centrifugation and stillstand. The results showed that 50% PEG of molecular weight 1000 and centrifugation increase the percentage of fused cells. The procedure of cell fusion has been examined. The cytoplasm has been fused when the cells start fusing in one hour and a half, and the neucleus start fusing in two horus and a half.
