Basing on the health protection law issued in July 11th, 1989, the Ministry of Health introduced the renal transplantation from live voluntary donor who is direct family members. In April 24th, 1992, the Ministry of Health founded a professional commission led by professor, Scientific Doctor Le The Trung. This commission is responsible for the decisions of technical aspects for renal transplantation.

A retrospective study on all cases of renal transplantation since 1992 of which 16 successful cases received a procedure of renal clean and preservation was carried out. The procedure involved the kidney cold cleaning perfusion with solution of euro-collins. The shortest cleaning time was 5 minutes and longest cleaning time was 20 minutes. The amount of cleaning solution was 600-1000ml. The good result was 100%.

Transplant tourism (TT) has developed into a global concern for international organizations, transplant communities, researchers, and the press. Increasing the knowledge of organ trafficking and TT is essential to raise awareness and prepare responses that will prevent the occurrence of illicit organ transplantation through TT. This review article describes the current status and legal framework of international organ trafficking and TT. Collection and analysis of data concerning TT from national and international registries will provide the best estimates of global activities, which are necessary to develop an appropriate local and worldwide collaborative response to organ trafficking and TT. International collaboration and multifaceted strategies are needed to address the complex challenges of TT.

Realizing the promise and managing the success of organ transplantation requires the creation of unique institutions. An Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) must be capable of increasing the supply of cadaver donor organs, of allocating those organs properly to recipients with due consideration for equity and utility, and of using scientific data to improve the system for the good of society. The OPTN should answer to the public and should expect public support. Both in the United States and in Korea major changes in deceased donor organ procurement and allocation are in progress. In the United States change takes the form of a renewed emphasis on achieving equity in kidney allocation without significantly sacrificing transplant graft or patient survival and the first ever use of purely objective, statistically evaluated criteria for liver allocation. In Korea where the OPTN is only four years old, change takes the form of a new brain death law and the creation of that country's first organ procurement organizations. In both countries, success in meeting the transplant needs of their populations will ultimately depend on the support of society and the cooperation of the entire medical community.
