Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2015;(3):302-305,306
Objective To investigate the effects of GM1 and Edaravone on expressions of PDK1,GSK3βprotein in ischemic penumbra after local cerebral ischemia/reperfusion in intraluminal thread occlusion of the middle cerebral artery rats and its related mechanism. Methods The local cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model was established by intraluminal thread occlusion of the middle cerebral artery. The animals were randomly divided into pseudo surgery group, model group,GM1 group, Edaravone group and GM1 and Edaravone group. Using the techniques of immu-no-histochemical sraining, the expressions of PDK1,GSK3β protein were observed at 3,7 and 14 days in ischemic penumbra. Results In ischemic penumbra,3,7,14 days each time point,a value and positive unit of the PDK1 protein expression in GM1 and Edaravone groups were higher than those in GM1 or Edaravone groups(P<0. 05), model groups(P<0. 01);a value and positive unit of the GSK3βprotein expression in GM1 and Edaravone groups were lower than those in GM1 or Edaravone groups(P<0. 01),model groups (P<0. 01). Conclusion GM1 and Edaravone resist neural cell apoptosis, regulate PI3K /Akt signal transduction pathway by enhancing PDK1 protein and restraining GSK3β expression after local cerebral ischemia /reperfusion in artery rats.
2.The development of evaluation in cerebral palsy
International Journal of Pediatrics 2010;37(1):88-91
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of syndrome caused by a non-progressive brain injury that occurs from before birth to 28 days after birth. The principal symptoms of CP are abnormal centrocinesia and irregular posture, or accompanied by intelligence disorders, seizures, dystropy, sensory impairments and other dysfunctions. To evaluate the function of children with cerebral palsy can assess disfuction level, judge clinical classification, estimate prognosis, and more importantly guide to establish treatment plan and evaluate therapeutic efficacy. At present, there are no unified standards to evaluate CP at home and abroad, So this article will overview evaluation methods of CP commonly used in recent years.
3.The relationship between the location of the epileptiform focus and the cognitive problems
International Journal of Pediatrics 2011;38(6):609-611
Neurocognitive impairment frequently occurs in epilepsy patients, especially in children, which has been considered to interfere the development of mind and body and cause mental retardation. Now it has attracted wide attention from doctors home and abroad. The mechanisms are complicated, and may be influenced by several factors.Different locations of epileptiform focuses cause different cognitive impairment. This review aims to illustrate the major cognitive impairment in relation to the epileptogenic zone in brain, with a more detailed interest for temporal lobe epilepsy, frontal lobe epilepsy, occipital lobe epilepsy and parietal lobe epilepsy.

Objective:To study the sensitivity of pathogenic fungi from otorhinolaryngology to 5 antifungal agents of Ketoconazole(KE), Itraconazole(IT),Fluorocytosine(FC),Amphtericin B (AP) and Fluconazole(FL) by Etest method.Method:Etest for determine MIC of 14 pathogenic fungi was performed according to the manufactuer′s instructions. The Etest strip containing the 5 antifungal drugs were putted on medium with Candida albicans,A.flarus and A.fumigatus etc, respectively,to determine MIC of antifungal drugs.Result:Candida albicans were sensitized to all the above 5 antifungal drugs, KE and IT were most sensitized.Seven fungi such as A. flavus, A fumigatus, A.oryzae etc were all sensitized to KE and IT.The MIC range of KE and IT against 15 strains of pathogenic fungi were≤0.008~2 mg/L and ≤ 0.006~4 mg/L respectively. In 15 strains,11 strains showed drug-resistant to FL,8 strains to AP and FC,4 strains to KE and 1 strains to IT respectively and MIC were all >32 mg/L.Conclusion:Etest MIC were in good agreement with macrobroth MIC.The use of Etest strips for antifungial susceptibility test is a new and promising method with advantage of easy to perform, exact results and satisfactory reproducibility. Etest is valuable on clinical practice.

With regard to the bounded linear continuous-time system, a universal chaotic anti-controlling method was presented on the basis of tracking control. A tracking controller is designed to such an extent that it can track any chaotic reference input, thus making it possible to chaotify the linear system. The controller is identical in structure for different controlled linear systems. Computer simulations proved the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Objective To evaluate the air quality in the long-distance bus with air conditioner and the uncomfortable index of the passengers during the trip. Methods The air quality in the long-distance buses with air conditioner which were running for 3 hours,5 hours,7 hours respectively was monitored and 200 passengers were investigated by questionnaire during the trip,Jan 2004 -Aug 2005. Results As the running time increasing,CO2 concentration significantly increased. The bacterium,fungus,PM10 and wind speed were increasing gradually, but still in the normal level. The temperature,CO,formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and dimethyl benzene did not increase. The hemolysis streptococcus was not found, the relative humidity droped a little but in normal level. The investigation results of questionnaire showed that 21.5%(43/200) passengers felt peculiar smell,64.5% (129/200)of them appeared lassitude symptom,43% (86/200)of them appeared the symptom of dizzy, thirsty and sore throat,21%(42/200)of them felt eye dry,14.5%(29/200)of them appeared the symptom of headache and breath-block,7%(14/200)of them felt nauseated and skin itch during the trip. Conclusion The CO2 pollution in the investigated long-distance buses is serious and this can impact the health of the passengers.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between airway inflammation before treatment and asthma status and response to inhaled corticosteroids treatment in children with mild or moderate asthma. Methods Eighty-seven children diagnosed with mild or moderate asthma were enrolled as study group, 20 healthy children as control group. Sputum induction, cellular differential count, and the assaying of mediators in sputum supernatant were performed before treatment with corticosteroids. Eosinophil cationic protein were measured by enzyme-linked fluorescent assay, interleukin-8 and transforming growth factor-β_1 (TGF-β_1) were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Pulmonary function tests were performed for small airway function on the baseline and methacholine bronchial provocation tests were performed to screen airway hyperresponsiveness. SPSS13.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results (1) Among the 87 patients, 64 patients were studied as eosinophil asthma (EA) group, 23 patients as non-eosinophil asthma (NEA) group according to the ratio of eosinophils in sputum. The percentages of inflammatory cells and level of ECP, IL-8 were of significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05), other indexes as FEV_1% pred, PEF% pred, moderate-severe AHR%. small airway function were also of significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). (2) Patients in EA group showed significant improvement in pulmonary function, bronchial hyperresponsiveness and small airway function after treatment with inhaled corticosteroids compared with NEA group. (3) Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that among the different baseline variants considered only baseline FEVl%pred, sputum eosinophil percentages (EOS%), sputum TGF-β_1 significantly correlated with the response to inhaled cortieosteroids, moreover, sputum eosinophil percentages had the closest correlation (β= 0.583, t = 6.214, P < 0.05). Conclusions There were different patterns of airways inflammation in children with mild or moderate asthma. Sputum eosinophilia was associated with asthma status. Low sputum eosinophils, low FEV_1%pred, high sputum TGF-β_1 before treatment predict poor response to treatment with inhaled corticosteroids. Evaluation of those baseline indexes may be helpful to an individualized therapeutic regime.
