BACKGROUND: In recent studies, tacrolimus ointment has been shown to be effective for the treatment of atopic dermatitis with an excellent safety profile. OBJECTIVE: This study was done to assess the efficacy and side-effects of tacrolimus ointment for the facial atopic dermatitis(AD) in Korean. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Open-label, non-comparative study with 2 months' follow-up was done to assess the efficacy and safety of tacrolimus ointment (Protopic0ointment 0.1%, Fujisawa, Japan) in moderate to severe facial AD. Patients were instructed to apply it two times daily for 8 weeks. Facial lesions were evaluated at baseline, 4 and 8 weeks of treatment with in-tensity score by investigator. RESULTS: In comparing of intensity scores and each clinical score at baseline with those of 4 and 8 weeks of treatment, a significant decrease was noticed at all follow-up periods. Burning sense(54.5%) and pruritus(18.2%) were detected. CONCLUSION: Tacrolimus ointment is effective in treatment of severe facial AD and has tolerable mild adverse effects at the site of application in Korean.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1988;23(5):1409-1412
The cleidocranial dysostosis is characterized by deficient formation of the clavicle, delayed and imperfect ossification of the cranium and less often involvement of other bones. The cleidocranial dysostosis is relatively rare congenital and familial disorder with autosomal dominant inheritance. We report one case of cleidocranial dysostosis with a brief review of the literatures

4.Evaluation of Renal Injuries with Computerized Tomography.
Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(1):71-77
The diagnosis and appropriate management of patients with renal injury have remained controversial. From July 1982 through June 1965 we evaluated with computerized tomography and/or angiography 35 selected patients suspected of sustaining major renal trauma, and compared computerized tomography with angiography in regard of accuracy, sensitivity and specificity in l5 patients, whose extents of renal injuries were confirmed at operation. Computerized tomography provides the most precise anatomical detail of rental injuries as well as valuable information regarding other retroperitoneal and intraabdominal structures, often resulting in identification of associated and unsuspected injuries. This study suggests that computerized topography is highly sensitive and accurate method to evaluate renal injury, which allows the surgeon to make a confident choice of treatment.

Korean Journal of Urology 1985;26(6):659-664
The adrenal glands, because of their retroperitoneal location, are difficult to evaluate by physical examination and conventional radiological techniques. This has limited the detection of benign and malignant adrenal neoplasms to those tumors causing local symptoms due to massive enlargement or systemic manifestations of excess hormone production. Technical advances now allow visualization of normal adrenal glands by computed tomography (CT), and the possibility arises that adrenal neoplasms may be diagnosed at an earlier or even preclinical stage. Treatment of these preclinically detected neoplasms would prevent the complications of hormone producing tumors and offer a better chance for cure of malignant tumors. This report describes our experiences with 5 patients who had adrenal tumors; three pheochromocytomas, one primary hyperaldosteronism, one nonfunctioning adrenal cortical carcinoma.

Primary neoplasms arising in vesical diverticula are rare and present special problems in diagnosis and treatment. We report a case of primary carcinoma arising in vesical diverticula with associated benign prostatic hypertrophy.

Nonfunctioning carcinoma of adrenal cortex is a rare disease and approximately 120 patients with nonfunctional adrenal cortical carcinoma have been reported in the world literature since first description of Rolienston and Marks in 1898. We report a case of nonfunctioning adrenal cortical carcinoma in a 47-year-old female patient, which was suspected by clinical investigation and confirmed by exploration and microscopic examination.

9.Unusual Presentations of Renal Cell Carcinoma: Case Reports.
Korean Journal of Urology 1984;25(2):173-178
Renal cell carcinoma has a wide and varied spectrum of symptoms and signs, which are separable into local tumor effect, metastatic symptoms and extrarenal manifestations. Therefore, for the urologist diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma can be difficult to be made even after complete evaluations. We report three cases of unusual presentations of renal cell carcinoma confirmed by exploration and microscopic examination.
