1.Improve the efficacy of nutritional support in infectious patients
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2008;7(5):323-324
The aim of nutritional support is to maintain the metabolic function of cells, organs and the whole body, and also to reduce the total energy consumption, finally promotes the patients to recover. Infectious patients are often in the status of high catabolism and negative nitrogen balance. It is necessary for such patients to receive nutritional support, however, the performance is difficult because of the high catabolism status and disorder of physiological function. What is more, inappropriate performance may lead to even worse outcome. Accordingly, the current clinical researches focus on how to improve the effects of nutritional support in infectious patients. Several aspects on this issue including the time, route, dose, metabolic intervention and immune modulation are discussed.
2.Treatment Progress in Post-stroke Depression
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(8):1734-1738
Post-stroke depression (PSD) referred to the onset of depression after being diagnosed with post-stroke. It was a secondary disease, mainly including depression, little words, sleep disorders, anorexia, absence of interest, undynamic, passiveness, misfitting rehabilitation and so on. It was not only a psychological and physiological disease, but also delay the function recovery of damaged nerves, influence the patient’s quality of life, and increase the rate of disability and mortality. It was essential to research and develop effective and safe treatment medication. This paper reviewed the current situation and developing prospects of western medicine, Chinese medicinal, treatment of integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine in PSD treatment.
3.Chemotherapy combined with involved-field radiotherapy for early-stage Hodgkin lymphoma: effects on outcome and long-term complications
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2010;19(8):460-465
Early-stage Hodgkin Lymphoma(HL) is curable by extended-field radiotherapy alone. To reduce the long-term toxicities and complications with similar overall survival, randomized controlled trials of combined-modality therapy have been investigated nearly two decades. Recent years, many large-scale randomized controlled trials showed superior disease-free survival of combined-modality treatment compared with radiotherapy or chemotherapy alone for early-stage classical HL. Thus, short-course chemotherapy plus involved-field and low-dose radiotherapy is the standard treatment for early-stage HL. With this regimen, several studies have been proved that long-term complications had been reduced, but long-time results should be awaited.
4.The Kynurenine Metabolic Pathway and the Central Nervous System
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2008;16(5):388-392
The kynurenine metabolic pathway involves in a cascade of enzyme reaction generated multiple biologically-active compounds. These metabolites are called"kynurenines" which participate in diverse pathophysiological processes, particularly in the central nervous system. The kynurenines have important physiological functions. For example.quinolinic acid is an Nmethyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)receptor agonist.and it can be largely accumulated in the central nervous system in many infectious nervous system diseases, resulting in neuronal excitotoxicity and death.Kynurenic acid antagonizes excitatory glutamate receptors to reduce excitotoxicityinduced neuronal death. This article reviews the related researches of the effects of kynurenine metabolic pathway on the central nervous system.
5.CROSS-VALIDATION FOR MEASURED AND PREDICTED BASAL METABOLIC RATE IN CHINESE ADULTS
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Objective:To estimate the validation of BMR predictive equations applied in Chinese population and to analyze racial and climatic influence on BMR. Methods: BMR data tested in Chinese were collected and combined for re-analysis. These measured BMR were compared with the prediction of commonly used equations. Results:The prediction of adopted equations was well associated with measured values (P0.05). Conclusion:There is no racial BMR difference between Chinese and Caucasian. BMR in southern population tended to be lower. Comprehensively, the prediction of Henry-equation was closer to measured BMR in Chinese adult population.

Patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis (ACS) are the potentially high-risk population of stroke.Screening for high-risk patients with ACS and giving them appropriate interventions may have great significance for the prevention of the occurrence of stroke. This article reviews the advances in research of ACS screening in recent years.

Objective To explore the influence of different lengths and contents of glass-fiber post on the fracture resistance of teeth, and to investigate the optimal length and content of glass-fiber post used for restorative treatment. Meth-ods Forty-two intact single canal mandibular premolars were collected from orthodontic patients and were divided into three experimental groups (A, B and C). All the teeth were endodontically treated after cut off the crowns from the 2 mm above cemento-enamel junction. The post lengths were10 mm in A group, 8 mm in B group, and 6 mm in C group. There were two subgroups for each experimental group (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 ), 7 teeth for each subgroup. The 42%glass fiber post was used in A1, B1 and C1 groups. The 75%glass fiber post was used in A2, B2 and C2 groups. All of groups were restored with resin cores and metal crowns. The fracture resistance was measured with universal testing machine and recorded the root frac-ture pressure data and the mode of all the teeth. Results The fracture resistance was significantly higher in group A than that of group B and group C (P<0.05), and the fracture resistance was significantly higher in group B than that of group C (P<0.05). The fracture resistance was significantly higher for 75%glass fiber post than that of 42%glass fiber post (P<0.05). Conclusion Within a certain range, the longer the length of glass fiber post, the greater the tooth fracture resistance. The fracture resistance of fiber content is better for 75%glass fiber post than that of 42%glass fiber post.

Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(10):-
AIM: To observe the effect of oxymatrine on sodium channel in isolated cardiomyocytes of guinea pig. METHODS: Single ventricular myocytes of guinea pigs were obtained by enzymatic dissociation. The whole - cell patch clamp recording technique was used to record the change of sodium current by different dosage of oxymatrine from 1 to 1 000 ?mol?L-1 . RESULTS: Oxymatrine decreased sodium current in a dose - dependent manner. Oxymatrine (100 ?mol?L-1) decreased the current density by 40% (P
