Objective To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of percutaneous intraductal radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in treating biliary stent stenosis. Methods A total of 43 cases with biliary obstruction caused by biliary stent stenosis were enrolled in this study. Through percutaneous transhepatic pucturing of biliary duct, an EndoHPB catheter was placed in the stenotic site of the biliary stent, which was followed by RFA treatment. After RFA, biliary drainage catheter was reserved. The drainage catheter was removed when angiography confirmed that the stent was patent. Results Cholangiography showed that the biliary stent became patency after RFA in all patients. No procedure-related complications occurred. After RFA, the median patency time of the stenotic biliary stent in survival patients was 107 days (12-180 days). Conclusion The results of this preliminary clinical study indicate that percutaneous intraductal radiofrequency ablation has excellent effect and safety for the treatment of biliary stent stenosis, although more reliable and randomized controlled trials are needed before its effect and safety can be further proved.

Objective To explore the correlation of the ER and HER-2 expression status with the short-term effect of paclitaxel and epirubicin (TE) chemotherapy advanced breast cancer. Methods Past Immunohistochemical data of 42 advanced breast cancer patients after paclitaxel combined epirubicin treatment were analyzed retrospectively. Patients were divided into four sub-groups: ER +, HER-2-group; ER +, HER-2 + group; ER-, HER-2-group; ER-, HER-2 + group. All affecting patients with complete clinical and pathological data were observed for the factors short-term effect of TE chemotherapy and for chemotherapy adverse. Results The whole 42 patients completed at least two cycles of chemotherapy, and then got efficacy evaluation. Recent response rate of the patients who got TE chemotherapy was 23 cases (54.8%).RR with different metastatic sites (P=0.038) and the number of metastasis (P=0.036) were significantly different. The mainly adverse events of chemotherapy were alopecia for 36 cases (85.7%), myelosuppression for 29 cases (69.1%), Peripheral neuritis for 10 cases (23.9%). ER,HER-2 expression in the Different sub-groups and the RR showed linear distribution (P= 0.027).RR values (83.3%) in patients of ER-, HER-2 + group was significantly higher than that of the ER +, HER-2-group (25.6%) (P=0.045). Conclusion Advanced breast cancer patients with ER-, HER-2 + were more sensitive to TE chemotherapy.ER and HER-2 expression status was a predictor of efficacy of the chemotherapy. It may be helpful to consider ER and HER-2 expression status in choosing reasonable chemotherapy.

Background About one third of congenital cataract is associated with inheriting factor. The inherited heterogeneity has been found in congenital cataract. To seek the pathogenic gene is essential for the gene therapy. Objective Present study was to map and identify the causal gene for autosomal dominant congenital cataract (ADCC) in a Chinese family. Methods The clinical features of all affected members in this family were examined.Blood samples were collected from eleven family members for genetic linkage analysis.Polymorphic microsatellite markers were selected from the regions which harbor all known loci linked with ADCC.Universal fluorescent-labeled M13 primer was used in linkage analysis.Direct genomic sequencing was used to evaluate the candidate gene for example CRYBB2 gene. This study followed Helsinki Declaration and was proved by Tianjin City Ethic Committee.Written informed consent was obtained from each SUbject before any medical procees. Results The maximum two-point LOD score of 1.20 was obtained for marker D22S315 (θ=0).The LOD score of 0.6 was obtained for marker D16S3068.No mutation in all exons of CRYBB2 gene was found in the family. Conclusion CRYBB2 gene associated with ADCC was excluded from the family.A genome-wide linkage screening should be conducted.Genotyping with microsatellite markers using Universal fluorescent-labeled M13 primer can decrease the cost and obtain the same result.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the leading causes of death. Safflower attracts great attention owing to its anti-ischemia/reperfusion injury effect. Ninety-three patients with CAD were included and randomized into safflower treatment group, PCI group and control group. Low-dose dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) was performed to measure end-systolic volume (ESV), end-diastolic volume (EDV), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and wall motion score index (WMSI) to determine the recovery of hibernating myocardium and cardiac function in all patients before treatment and after 3-month follow-up. The study was to investigate the effects of safflower on hibernating myocardial revascularization and cardiac function. It was found that LVEF was significantly improved, while the ESV and WMSI were significantly reduced after 2-week treatment in safflower and PCI treatment groups. No significant differences were found between safflower and PCI treatment groups in ESV, EDV, WMSI and LVEF after treatment Safflower injection effectively improved hibernating myocardial function.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of Guilu Erxian Glue Cataplasm (GEGC) on carcinoma of the large intestine patients with myelosuppression after chemotherapy, and further to confirm its efficiency and safety.
METHODSTotally 60 patients with carcinoma of the large intestine were randomly assigned to two groups. Meanwhile, they all accepted FOLFIRI chemotherapy. Patients in the treatment group were additionally applied at Shenque (RN8), exchanging once per every other day, for 14 successive days. Patients in the control group took placebos with the same dose and dosage as the treatment group. The blood cell counts (WBC, NE, and PLT) were detected before chemotherapy, at day 7, 10, and 14. The TCM symptoms integrals, Karnofsky performance score (KPS), liver and kidney functions were observed before chemotherapy, at day 7 and day 14. Adverse skin reactions were observed each day. And the usage of hematopoietic growth factors was recorded.
RESULTS(1) The KPS score at day 7 was more stable in the treatment group than in the control group; the WBC and NE counts in the peripheral blood at day 14 were higher in the treatment group than in the control group; and TCM symptoms integrals at day 14 was lower in the treatment group than in the control group, all with statistical difference (P < 0.05). (2) Compared with the control group, the PLT count was higher in the treatment group than in the control group, the usage of rhG-CSF and antibiotics was less in the treatment group than in the control group, all with no statistical difference (P > 0.05). (3) No obvious adverse reactions such as liver injury, renal injury, or skin allergy were observed.
CONCLUSIONSAdjuvant treatment of GEGC could improve carcinoma of the large intestine patients with myelosuppression to some extent. No relevant adverse reactions were found.
