Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2021;56(4):906-912
Depression is one of the diseases with the highest disability rate in the world. A large number of studies have shown that the intake of unsaturated fatty acids can deal with depression while chronic overconsumption of saturated fatty acids is a risk factor for depression. It was suggested that the mechanism of saturated fatty acids inducing depression is related to the following four aspects: regulating the function which links to depression in whole brain and specific brain regions, including the hippocampus, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, the striatum, and the prefrontal cortex; stimulating the secretion of inflammatory factors; affecting the balance and function of metabolic regulatory hormones, including leptin, adiponectin, glucocorticoid, and insulin; inducing the disturbance of intestinal flora. This article reviews the relationship between dietary fatty acids and depression, and the possible mechanisms by which saturated fatty acids induce depression from the four aspects mentioned above.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2003;0(01):-
Objective To explore the causes and treatment measures of hyponatremia after liver transplantation. Methods The clinical data of 27 patients with hyponatremia after liver transplantation were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 27 patients, postoperative hyponatremia occurred in 25 cases in about one week, and preoperative hyponatremia occurred in 2 cases and severe ~hyponatre -mia occurred immediate after operation. Acute hyponatremia occurred in one case. Blood natrium was 130 to 135 mmol/L in 10 cases, 120 to 130 mmol/L in 12 cases and less than 120 mmol/L in 5 cases. The levels of blood potassium, phosphor and calcium were all normal. Urinary natrium, potassium and chlorine levels were all normal. The ascites natrium level was higher than blood natrium at the same time. Hyponatremia was treated by supply of hypertonic saline via gastrointestine an/or veins. Conclusion Various causes could result in hyponatremia after liver transplantation. The hyponatremia was treated by supply of hypertonic saline constantly and slowly.

Objective:To explore the effect of progrmmed cell death 5(PDCD5)on apoptosis of rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast-like synoviocytes(RA FLS) induced by triptolide. Methods:Cultured synovial cells in vitro from RA patients were transfected with Ad-PDCD5.At protein level, expression of PDCD5 in RA FLS infected with Ad-PDCD5 was detected by Western blot.RA FLS infected with Ad-PDCD5 were cultured in presence or absence of triptolide and apoptosis of RA FLS was determined by flow cytometry. Results:Infection of RA FLS with increasing concentrations of Ad-PDCD5(50-300 MOI) resulted in a does-dependent increase in the production of PDCD5.Apoptotic cells percentage for noinfection group,Ad-null group and Ad-PDCD5 group were(22.41?3.87)%,(28.77?12.97)% and(48.87?12.69)%,respectively.Alternatively,infection without addition of triptolide stimuli had no effect. The data showed that gene transfection of PDCD5 alone without addition of triptolide was not sufficient to activate RA FLS apoptosis,PDCD5 acted as an enhancer rather than inductor of apoptosis. Conclusion:Overexpression of PDCD5 could enhance apoptosis of RA FLS induced by triptolide,PDCD5 may be a potential therapeutic target to RA.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(10):-
Objective To study the pathological and ultramicrostructural characteristics of organ tissues in relation to the clinical course of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Methods Post-mortem tissue samples of organs (lungs, heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, stomach ) were obtained by needle biopsy from four SARS patients who died in middle and late stages 3-5 weeks after the onset of the disease. The pathological samples were studied by light and electron microscope, immunohistochemistry, histochemistry and indirect immuno-fluorescent antibody test. Results The main pathological features were early interstitial pulmonary fibrosis or organizing pneumonia. Fibroblasts were increased in the interalveoli septa and young connective tissue was found to fill the alveoli. Diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) with alveolar pneumocytes proliferation and an increase in macrophages were found. Desquamative alveolitis also existed at the same time. Squamous metaplasia and syncytial giant cells with multinuclei could be seen. CD3 + and CD20 + lymphocytes were markedly decreased and CD68 + macrophages and S-100 + dendritic cells increased in spleen. Proliferation of bone marrow cells became restrained . Hepatocytes were vacuolated with fatty degeneration. Electron microscopy showed the presence of coronavirus-like particles 80-60nm in diameter enveloped in the cytoplasm of the type Ⅱ pneumocytes, endothelial cells and lymphocytes. Conclusions A novel coronavirus is the cause of the newly recognized severe acute respiratory syndrom (SARS). The main target organs are lung and immune system. Different pulmonary pathological features were found in patients dying from the disease in different stages. All of specimens showed positive reaction of SARS-fluorescence antibody.

Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2000;0(04):-
Objective To explore a better method in obtaining iris pigment epithelium (IPE) specimen for autologous transplantation in rabbits. Methods IPE was obtained from 20 black rabbits with method A, i.e., surgical peripheral iridectomy at 12:00 position obtaining a triangle iris tissue with the hemline of 4-5 mm in left eyes, and method B,i.e., surgical peripheral iridectomy at 11:00 and 1:00 positions obtaining two triangle iris tissues with the hemlines of 2-2.5 mm in right eyes . The IPE cells were isolated precisely with enzyme microdissection-enzyme isolation method, cultured in vitro, observed with light and electronic microscope, and identified with immunocytochemical staining. Results The success rate of cells culture were 65% for method A and 95% for method B. After 3-4 generations of culturing, the amount of IPE cells was enough for transplantation, and most of the functions of primary clutured IPE cells were kept still. Viability of IPE cells was 85%-93%. Conclusion The success rate of cells culture for method B is higher than that for method A. The third generation of cultured cells is available for autologous transplantation.
