Objective To introduce a method of using perforators flap adjacent to the defect to repair small sized skin defect.Methods From October 2009 to December 2013,a total of 23 cases of skin lesions were treated with perforators flap adjacent to the defect.The perforator artery was preoperatively detected with Portable Doppler in the region of relative slack skin.Skin defects with the area changed from 1.5 cm × 2.0 cm to 5.0 cm × 4.0 cm.Results All the flap survived smoothly,with pleased appearance and primary healing.Postoperative follow-up of 3 to 6 month showed no recurrence in tumor patients during the follow-up period.Conclusions Application of perforators flap adjacent to defect to repair small sized skin defect has the advantages of flexibility,reliable blood supply,which obtains good result.

Anti-HIV drugs still remain as the dominant role in the treatment of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), because no vaccine was found till today. Owing to structural diversity, few side effects, and abundant resources, natural compounds from traditional Chinese medicines and medicinal plants have unique advantages and good potential in prevention and treatment of AIDS. Many researchers have made great efforts in the field of anti-HIV natural compounds, and have found some natural compounds from traditional Chinese medicines with potent anti-HIV activities. These compounds can be classified into the following categories: alkaloids, coumarins, lignans, flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, polysaccharides, proteins and peptides, and polyphenols. However, most of these researches are performed in vitro, and most natural compounds show weak anti-HIV activities and indefinite acting targets. In the paper, we reviewed some natural compounds derived from traditional Chinese medicines with potent anti-HIV activities in recent years.

Objective: To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) at Tianshu (ST25) on pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in sodium taurocholate-induced severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) in rats. Methods: Sixty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham-operation group, SAP group and EA group. An SAP model was established by injecting 3.5% sodium taurocholate at a dose of 1 mL/kg through puncturing the pancreatic duct. In the EA group, EA at ST25 was performed with sparse-dense wave (2/100 Hz, 2 mA for 30 min) immediately after sodium taurocholate injection and 30 min before sacrifice. Rats were sacrificed at 3 (n=7), 6 (n=7) and 12 h (n=8) after operation. Levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-10 in serum were estimated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Pathological changes of pancreatic tissues were examined by hematoxylin and eosin staining and observed under a microscope and also scored. Results: The levels of serum TNF-α and IL-6 of SAP rats were significantly higher than those of sham-operation rats at 3, 6 and 12 h. The level of IL-10 in serum of SAP rats was significantly higher than that of sham-operation rats at 3 and 6 h (P<0.05). EA at ST25 down-regulated the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in serum and up-regulated the level of IL-10 and the ratio of IL-10/TNF-α, also attenuated the morphological damages at 6 and 12 h (P<0.05) in rats with SAP. The pathological scores of pancreatic tissues in the EA group were significantly less than those in the SAP group at 6 and 12 h (P<0.05). Conclusion: EA at ST25 may have a therapeutic effect on rats with SAP by down-regulating the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 and up-regulating the level of IL-10 to re-establish the balance of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines, and to ameliorate the inflammatory response of SAP.

Objective To evaluate various immediate managements of traumatic posterior urethral disruption in children. Methods 22 boys,2 to 14 years of age,with pelvic fracture and posterior urethral disruption were treated.There were 5 cases of partial urethral disruption,4 being managed by immediate suprapubic cystostomy and 1 by urethral catheterization.Of 17 cases of complete urethral disruption,6 underwent immediate suprapubic cystostomy with anastomosis of the disrupted ends later.The other 11 cases underwent primary urethral anastomosis via the perineum route. Results All the 5 partial disruption were cured without any complication.In 6 cases of complete urethral disruption with immediate suprapubic cystostomy,delayed repair was undertaken in 5. Of the 11 cases with primary urethral anastomosis,success and satisfactory result have been achieved in 10.Only 1 needed urethrostomy for further management. Conclusions For incomplete urethral disruption suprapubic cystostomy alone is indicated.For complete urethral disruption,primary urethral anastomosis via the perineal route would yield good result with much less chance of complications.
